One of the best dining experiences in Frederick. Wonderful ambiance and incredible drink menu. If you are in to wine as I am, this place is a must - they have wonderful wine flights that come paired with hilarious wine description cards that are both funny and totally accurate. Last night we splurged and had 3 courses. Starting with the buffalo chicken fries, incredible. The fries were crispy and mixed with wonderful chicken confit and house made buffalo sauce topped off with a delectably soft cloud of blue cheese mouse. The blue cheese mouse has a similar consistency of whipped cream and was the perfect foil for the fries/chicken under neath. Added to the top was some shaved celery to add a nice fresh crunch. We also had oysters which are always good here. Super clean, fresh, medium salinity and not too large and topped off with a wonderful mignonette. For dinner I had the wagu selection which was a sirloin cap. Normally I am a filet person but let me tell you this steak was one of the most flavorful steaks I have ever consumed. I ordered my steak rare so I was concerned the fat might be chewy but this was absolutely not the case - my steak was perfectly charred, juicy and melted in my mouth. It was topped with a fragrant herb butter and paired with crisp French green beans and whipped potatoes. My meal was so
good that my date ended up eating half of it along with all of his meal. For desert we had coffee and the S’mores. The coffee is served in a French press and was the perfect amount of strong and bitter paired with our sweet treat. When the s’mores came out we were blown away by the presentation which seemed like something you’d see on Top Chef. It was a wonderfully constructed interpretation of the modern s’more. The semifreddo in the dish was creamy and sweet and had a wonderful consistency. Next time your in the mood to treat yourself to an incredible dining experience check this place out!
Good food & service. It was nice to have quality over quantity of food. We really that they give out a card for us to take home w details abt the wine we had.. makes it easier to find & enjoy again later. Great place to enjoy a quiet romantic dinner!
We came here for our first date during Frederick restaurant week. I know that sounds like a risky move for a first date but I have been wanting to go to this place for a long time. Anyway, the food and wine was great. It explained why this place is always crowded. I had a tuna tartar taco for appetizer and cod fish for dinner. Both were quite original and very tasty. My date had a salad which she didn’t finish and a sirloin steak that she liked.
The food that we had was amazing. It was probably one of the best meals I have ever had. They had great presentation too. The staff was very attentive and knowledgeable about their menu and helped me chose a cocktail that I really enjoyed. I was surprised how loud the place was. I was expecting a more quiet location. However, it was still possible to hold a conversation. I would highly recommend this location to others.
We enjoyed the Restaurant week menu (steak & Persian chic) and well as the Chianti. The Cobb salad was delicious. The mini tuna tartare tacos were smaller than we expected. We had a wonderful time.
This was the best experience yet at the Wine Kitchen. Tom P was an amazing server. His effervescent personality really helped to make our evening more enjoyable. He is a true asset to the Wine Kitchen.
Our desserts were delayed and the manager came over with complimentary trial mock tails to get our input. That was a much appreciated touch. Both the manager and the server made us feel like very welcomed guests.
It was a most enjoyable evening.
Really enjoyed Restaurant week choices - food was excellent
The Wine Kitchen is my favorite Frederick restaurant. The food and service are amazing. It’s a little pricey but worth it for a great meal in a relaxed atmosphere.
Everything and everyone was wonderful! The food was excellent. The service was superb. We really enjoyed ourselves. Thank you so much!
I cannot say enough to express how fantastic our experience was here! This was our first visit and not only is the ambiance lovely and food creative/fresh/beautiful/delicious, but the staff were just the kindest, more attentive (without hovering) I have experienced in a very long time. We had a wonderful experience - thank you!!
Food was extremely overpriced for the quality and portion size
One of the best meals we’ve had in a long time. Truly delicious! Great service, great cocktails! Really excellent experience.
Always great food and service! We love this place. Highly recommend it
We came to The Wine Kitchen for their Restaurant Week menu after not having been in over a year. The food, drinks, service and ambiance were still just as outstanding as the previous visit. This is a jewel along the creek.
Great food and service every visit.
We visited during restaurant week for a
We came here during Restaurant Week for lunch. Jason (owner) and Jeff(chef) do a very nice job here. The RW offering was from the normal menu and well worth the price. Food was tasty, well prepared, nicely presented and ample portion. Service by Corey was attentive and professional. Kat who runs FOH was pleasant to speak with. Keep up the good work!
There was a multitude of waitresses handling our table. Being vegetarian the selection was limited but excellent.
Business trip, solo dinner. Ended up taking food to go. Fried green tomatoes were ok
- not the best I’ve ever had. The bacon jam took the burger over the top in a good way - fries were a little saltier than my taste but otherwise good. I think my favorite part was the glass of wine that I had I love that they brought a little info card with it. Would definitely go back and try something different just for the ambiance.
Birthday brunch for my friend.
Wonderful evening spent at the Wine Kitchen on the Creek. The food and wine selection are outstanding. Aria our waitress was very attentive and gracious.
We love Wine Kitchen! As repeat guests, we expect amazing food and service. And with the exception of our table, the restaurant again delivered. We were seated at a 2-top in very close proximity to two other tables. My husband described it as a middle seat on an airplane, and he was right! We asked to move but were told no. If those tables need to be that close, at least teach your staff NOT to go in between the tables to clear -- we repeatedly had a busser and a waiter's butt in our faces - and touching our table. Ick. On the bright side -- my filet was cooked to perfection and our waitress replaced one of the whites in my flight when I didn't like it. We will be back again, but we will be sure to ask about table selection. No center seats for us!
Great food and service. Nice atmosphere.
When I made the reservation, I asked for a quiet table as one of our guests has a hearing deficit. We were seated in the private room, had great service, and wonderful meals. Thank you so much for facilitating a wonderful get together of old friends.
Food is amazing and the wine flights are a great way to sample. The best salad, Rockfish, and steaks were some of the best things we have eaten in Frederick.
Excellent food, excellent wine/beer/cocktail selection, and spectacular service. Would absolutely recommend a visit to The Wine Kitchen on the Creek.
Always have amazing food at both this location and the one in Leesburg. We had the homemade Papperdelle and it was amazing as were the buffalo chicken fries with blue cheese mouse. Also love the Spicy Lady Margarita. Everything was delish!
Great service and great food. We arrived an hour before our reservation--no problem. Wine flights were great pours and well selected. The food impeccable--the duck was one of the best I've had in a restaurant. The wait staff worked as a team in a totally pleasant and sophisticated environment. Five stars.
Excellent food and service. The wine selection is amazing. I love reading each wine description, as they are funny and entertaining.
Our reservation was at 8:30 but the couple that was there were still having coffee. The staff came over to apologize to us after 10 mins. Then at 8:45 they came over again and offered us a drink/wine/spirits. We declined but they graciously brought over water anyway. Seated at 8:50 ish. Waiter was very attentive. I asked him to pair wine for us and he was happy to do that. We started with the roasted nuts and oysters. A-Mazing!!! We then had the grilled octopus and split the fish main dish ( which they served on two separate plates). All of the food was sooo good. We ended with a glass of Port and the cheese plate. Beautiful evening. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Very nice menu and service. Atmosphere was very loud and hard to have a conversation.
The food was amazing and prepared very well! Our server was very helpful in choosing flights of wine for our meals as well as offering recommendations in the menu. Excellent recommendations! Only downside I had was since it was a pretty small place, the tables were close together. Also, the bench cushion sunk down and puts you real low from the table. But besides that, AMAZING EXPERIENCE!
Made reservation 3 weeks ahead of time. I made them for a day AFTER Valentines Day to ensure a great table. We were GUARANTEED a window table at that time. Day before, a restaurant REP contacted me confirming our reservation AND THE WINDOW seating. Upon arriving, we were told that "those tables are on a first come first serve basis" ??? Wife and I were extremely disappointed. Manager though an appetizer would be a good fix...If you can't make good on a promise, DON'T PROMISE A CUSTOMER SOMETHING YOU CAN"T DELIVER! If you wanna be a 5 Star eatery, you gotta work to stay that way. Prob won't dine there again.
A quick Valentine dinner for my wife and I. Our dinner was good but the last time we came it was OUTSTANDING. Seems like they waited until 4:30 to seat all of the 4:30 reservations when they definitely had tables open. This might be a standard practice but I felt that it was/is unfair to the great wait staff and customers as now all of the ordering and such is happening at the same time. I would think the kitchen would want orders spread out a little.
Valentine’s Day. Had a table reservation but decided to dine at the bar. It was nice and comfy.
Favorite place in Frederick! You can't go wrong with a glass of wine, a cheese board, and a steak.
Wonderful restaurant right on Carroll Creek. Nice atmosphere, good food. I will be back.
Excellent food , service and ambiance! Highly recommend!
Good wasn’t as good as usual. The room was very loud also.
Fantastic experience, loved the cozy atmosphere . Wine was delicious!
