Always a pleasure to be back at the Waterfront when we visit Hythe.
Good service and excellent food in a well designed restaurant.
The pate starter was delicious.
It can be a bit noisy if there are a few parties in but we had a quieter table by the window.
Decor superb. My main was disappointing in terms of quantity
Very professional from booking to arriving, the meal was really nice and tasty, the wating staff were very friendly and helpful.
I will definitely go back and recommend to friends
Lovely friendly restaurant with amazing food and good atmosphere
Fantastic quality and great tasting food. Great service, can’t wait to go back
We came and had dinner at 6pm for 5 people this sunday. We had 3 starters they came out fine and lovely. Then are mains came out and only 2 came out first about 5 minutes later someone came over and said they had a nightmare in the kitchen one of the boards had broke in half and the food went everywhere. The thing was that it took them at lest 5 mins to come and tell us what had happened and they asked us if we want the food that they brought out taken back or did we want to eat it. They did apologise but it as half hearted but that's all we got we ended up waiting at least 20 minutes before the food then all came out as we sent the over two dinners back. No one came and asked us if we wanted anymore drinks. I asked a girl twice for a jug of water and didn't get it. It was only the third time I managed to get one by asking a gentleman. Last night for me was for sure a let down as the friends I brought to the restaurant was their first time and I have eaten with you before. I think I will leave it a while before I will return. Yours sincerely Kerrie
Great Atmosphere, food very tasty.Service by friendly staff. The decor is fantastic, opulant and twinkling lights. Will definitely be returning.
Moules were fantasti.Lovely to visit a place with a buzz about it.
we (a party of 4) were seated ustairs with a lovely view of the sea.
We went there for my birthday. Great atmosphere, attentive staff and good food, what more could you want.
I am afraid the music was so loud that it was difficult to have a conversation.
Great selection of drinks in a really nice setting by the beach. Recently renovated it is very appealing. Good food and nice specials
Prawn starter - prawns were tasteless wd be better without batter and with seasoning such as chili/lemon. Fish pie tasty
Prices are much too expensive
Too much decoration overkill and only 19th Nov!
Music - a lot of poor cover versions of well known songs - why not play original versions?!
Fabulous meal and service. Was recently decorated with Xmas secs and had a lovely feel.
The food, service and ambiance were all good but we did not appreciate being overcharged for the house wine which was noticed by one of our party. I’m sure we will be back again sometime.
Food should have been much better for the price charged.
The food took along time to appear. I had the hake for a main and a small portion considering the price!
Also £32.00 for NZ Sav Blanc was well over-priced!
Crammed in to an area at the front of the building which was full - not in the main restaurant which was pretty empty. Atmosphere like a cafe, sadly not somewhere for a special lunch. Food not great - anaemic fish batter.
This was one of the best restaurants we have been too for a long time with excellent service, food and atmosphere. Will definitely be returning.
Food was lovely staff very welcoming will definitely visit again
Amazing, good, staff and ambience. Will definitely be back soon
We had the Sunday roast but was disappointed with the roast potatoes they were dry and hard
The cabbage was nearly raw
The noise level was high
But it’s a nice place and good service
I took my Grandad for a fish and chips lunch and we had a great table and both agreed that it was the best fish and chips we’ve had. The food was fresh, staff polite and friendly and the ambience was great. Will definitely visit again!
Would recommend to others. good place to go. Best place in town.
Nothing to tell. Have been many times before and as good as always. Quieter than before so am added bonus.
Fantastic lunch that went on for hours, thankfully not asked (politely) to return the table until 1830. Great waitress ‘Chau’. Can’t wait to go back.
Good food and really good service. Our first visit, but would go back again
Food was tasty and nicely presented but not very hot. Main course portion was small for the cost. Service was slow although the restaurant wasn’t busy. Drinks order was taken promptly but we waited too long for staff to return to take our food order.
We will try again.
Very impressive decor good feel to the restaurant pleasant staff food absolutely amazing definitely will be returning thank you
Took my dad there for Sunday lunch. The restaurant was full which was lovely to see and the decor is fab! Service was excellent just a shame my meal was cold so had to ask for it to be reheated. So noisy in there we couldn’t hear each other talk but overall a good restaurant and I would recommend
It was recommended by family and it did not disappoint. Food was outstanding and staff and ambiance made it a very relaxing experience. Will definitely recommend to friends and family.
Cosy atmosphere with a good choice menu. The service was impeccable and the food excellent. Can’t wait to return.
Mixed feelings about our recent trip to The Waterfront in Hythe. Having been regulars at The Hythe Bay (previous incarnation of this restaurant) was interesting to see how it compared. Ambience was nice, some money clearly has been spent on a refit and a good job done and the atmosphere, despite our early dinner booking, was busy and upbeat. Food of a good standard but not amazing and a little on the pricey side for what was produced (but not by much). One of our servers managed to upend a bowl of chips into my Mum's lap (she's 81) when our mains were served. A lot of fuss ensued and a half apology made, but not directly to her, more to the table in general. The floor manager or whoever was in charge of the customer service didn't make an appearance to reinforce any regret on behalf of the restaurant and when we were asked at the end of our meal how everything was there seemed to be a slightly embarrassed surprise when i mentioned "everything was fine apart from........" We didn't tip for service (as it wasn't merited) and nor were we comp'd in any way (buying a drink as an apology would i think have been appropriate). Just disappointed on the whole - The Waterfront has potential, but if they don't get the staff/customer care bit right, they'll always be an OK place to go rather than a 'we must go here". Unlikely to return anytime soon.
Mussels let the experience down they were old or cooked more than once
Gorgeous food and the view was to die for!
Great service from friendly, helpful staff.
Don't miss the sticky toffee pudding - it's fanbulous!
An excellent venue with 1st class food and service
We both had a fab evening food was great venue was fab. Thankyou to all involved in making this place a special place to visit.
Always a great treat. Fantastic food and thoroughly professional staff. Lovely.
Really good restaurant, food and service. Not cheap but you get what you pay for
Had a lovely fish platter, the staff were very friendly, the vibe was very happy and we enjoyed seeing Richard the elephant
Unfortunately, one of our parties food was forgotten to then be told they didn't have what was originally ordered. We were given a free round of drink to compensate. When we walked into the restaurant they were advertising for different sous chefs which did give us alarm bells.
