A little noisy, the tables are a bit close together and the pianist is definitely from the old school, muzak-wise. Otherwise The Warren was excellent. The menu is limited but still offers a nice variety of things you won't necessarily see elsewhere. My wife and I had the pigeon and steak and both were exemplary.
Excellent service and food, it will always be on our favourite list
We went to The Warren for our anniversary and couldn’t fault the food or service in any way. Nothing was too much trouble. They were knowledgeable on the menu and food. Looking forward to my next visit.
Always our first choice when it comes to dining out for a romantic meal at a reasonable price. The wine list is great and the food always surprises us. We love it! Highly recommend.
Sadly, disappointed with The Warren. I had high hopes and love the idea that much of the produce is estate sourced.
The food was relatively good but hugely overpriced especially given the overall package that The Warren has to offer. The decor and restaurant itself needs a good clean and revamp. The staff were lovely and very friendly but I will not go back - there are far better places. Disappointed.
Food nice but Over priced for what we had
Set menu very limited on a Sunday and if you only want one course it’s charged at £18:96 for roast chicken, very tiny portion of veg between 2 people and the potatoes were Luke warm!
We booked a table for 5 people for my son’s birthday but only three of us could make it. The receptionist took this in her stride and quickly organised a different table for us. The staff are all friendly and helpful, but to be picky, need to learn a little more about the menu and how to pronounce some of the ingredients.
The menu is not extensive - there are about half a dozen dishes per course, and not really suitable for vegetarians.
The amuse bouche was like a dry tasteless breadstick and a complete waste. It stuck to the palate, achieving the opposite effect to that desired.
Our starters were all different and all very good. We all ordered the sirloin steak medium rare and had to send them all back as every one of them arrived medium-well. As it turned out, our order got mixed up with that of another table and we were very quickly supplied with another 3 plates of medium-rare steaks that we all enjoyed, although they were nothing special.
The wine list is really good unless you only want a glass, in which case there are very few options. The one I did choose, though, was delicious and suited the steak well.
Overall, a couple of minor niggles let down what could have been a very good meal. The bill of nearly £70 per head was reasonable value but you could definitely choose cheaper dishes or have fewer courses.
We chose The Warren for an evening meal to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We were delighted with our decision. The service was attentive yet unobtrusive. Every dish we chose was delicious and beautifully presented - from the amuses bouches (one of them a gluten-free special), through the starters (one featuring tomatoes, the other carrots), our main courses (tender and tasty pigeon) and desserts (damson parfait) to the complementary anniversary macarons at the end. After 24 years of marriage, this will definitely be one of our top-rated anniversary meals.
Excellent food and service.

The food and service were both good however there were a number of things that stop me from giving a full rating. The wine we ordered was not available, the menu said the side salad had feta but it didn't it was just tomatoes this then didn't get made and came after we had finished our main meals. We still had a great time but without these little mix ups the evening would have been perfect
the staff are amazing so helpful and the food was outstanding
Food very good, but unfortunately I cannot eat chocolate, and all the desserts on the fixed menu were chocolate in some form. I had cheese which was very good, but it would have been nice to have had one dessert which was non-choc.
Made to feel really special. Meal was delicious and absolutely perfect. Staff attentive and so happy to help . Wonderful way to celebrate our wedding anniversary.
Fantastic food in a lovely setting with great service, I would highly recommend it
This was my first visit to the Warren and it was a nice experience. The service was a bit slow and the roast beef wasn't the best roast beef I have had. However I did thoroughly enjoy my pudding which was a dark chocolate fondant with salted caramel ice cream. I would come here again as the decor and atmosphere is really nice.
Food was gorgeous!! Staff was very welcoming and friendly. Decor in the restaurant is dated and felt that somethings didn't fit in with the food there but the food was fantastic so we didn't really care! I am lactose intolerant and they couldn't of been more accommodating! 10/10!
Delicious food and great service.
We enjoyed a lovely intimate supper before trotting down to the Pantiles for the Jazz Festival. The food was creative enough to be interesting, but not too otherworldly! Really nice wine list including English Organic wines which were lovely.
We had a splendid lunch, with good service and good explanation of menus and wine selection.
Just a pity we were the only diners in the restaurant.
My wife and I enjoyed everything about The Warren, and will be looking to return in the not to distant future.
Very good food and pleasant personal service. We prefer it to the Ivy
Great location, ambiance, piano player, attentive service, great menus of local produce, very well cooked, great wine list,Olivier whom looked after us on my wife's birthday ,was full of little stories and engaged in a really friendly way,on my favourites list

Greeted at the door with an option of a drink on the terrace or straight to our table . All the staff were very friendly and easily available if needed and nothing was too much trouble which is very refreshing. Great selection on the menu and both my husband and I were not disappointed with our choices all full of flavour and well presented. We will definitely be going back .
Had lunch at The Warren with my mother and it was absolutely fantastic. Food was superb and the service was outstanding. Couldn't find a fault in the whole meal. When I asked if they could do something as it was my mothers birthday they did a lovely pudding with writing on the plate and went above and beyond to make sure she had a great meal. Can't thank them enough, it's reassuring to know there are restaurants out there that still care about you as a customer.
Will definitely be back soon.
Busy evening, service got a bit ragged. Waitress not up to scratch - cleared dessert while one (the host) still eating, then left the last plate for 10 min or so. Much too casual taking the payment - dropped the bill within sight of guests, rather than returning it to the payer. Maitre d’h well up Michelin standard, but he needs to train/discipline his staff.
Excellent service, good food and good location. Good choice on the menu.
The Warren is a fantastic dining experience. The staff are most attentive but not to much. The food to 5* with stunning presentation. We will be back again soon
This has become my favourite restaurant in Tunbridge Wells - great food, atmosphere and service!
We had dinner for three on a Wednesday evening. The evening started well with gin and tonics, outside on the balcony. The staff were very pleasant and attentive.
We chose a mixture of dishes off both the a la carte and fixed price menus. The amuse bouche was tasty, but there was some confusion as the starters arrived before we had a chance to finish them. The starters of asparagus with poached egg went down well and the pate was fine.
The main courses were mixed. The salmon was cooked perfectly, well presented and tasty. The chicken served on a bed of couscous looked bland and was average. The belly pork was smothered in a sauce which detracted from the taste rather than complementing it.
The wine list was limited and slightly pricey.
Overall, the evening was ok, but we won’t be dashing back
Had a lovely evening, waiter couldn't do enough to facilitate us. I would certainly go back to this restaurant.
Fantastic place, quirky setting. Fantastic food, it was very quiet for a Friday lunch, but suited us perfectly! X
Well looked after by the owner. His presence lifts the place.
The food was excellent, with only one small gripe - the scallops either should have been bigger or an additional 1/2 should have been provided, it seemed a little too nouveau. The rest of the meal was great, rich and plentiful probably not enough servers for the amount of diners. The atmosphere however, was relaxed & the ambience created with the pianist was a lovely touch. I would definitely go there again, but would get the drinks order in quickly to cover the delays from a service point of view. However, once we were served & attention was given, they were lovely. Although the Sommelier was a little to forceful with his opinion was the only other negative as he was not invited to give it.
All in all a great evening
My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at the Warren. The staff were warm and friendly, attentive without being intrusive. The food was delicate, beautifully presented and very tasty. Portion sizes were quite small and 3 courses were satisfying but not too much. It was obvious that the food had been prepared with care and attention and with good raw materials.
The piano player was disappointing, rambling along without any awareness that what he was playing and how he played it was quite irritating to listen to. He did not do the rest of the evening justice. I gather other people do play there so I would like to visit again when there was another pianist. Excellent apart from the pianist.
First time visiting, would go back, all round good food and service.
Very pleasant conservatory style room on the first floor in a busy central location. We walked, so the lack of parking was not a problem. Average greeting, good but not outstanding table service, excellent cuisine comprising local produce. £215 for four, three courses and wine, two complementary dishes. Our favourite location for special occasions.
Really great place - super food and super service!
We went to the Warren for father's day and had a very enjoyable meal. The service was very good and attentive. We had Sunday roast beef which was cooked pink and tasted delicious good selection of vegetables and a nice sized portion. The dessert was delicious we had chocolate tart. Nice setting we didn't sit in the orangery but still very nice with a view of the terrace outside.
