THE UNICORN HOTEL IN PADDINGTON IS A PROUD BOILING BILLY OF AUSSIE WINE, BEER, MUSIC, ART, FOOD AND CONVERSATION.

The first beer was poured at the Unicorn Hotel, Paddington, in 1941, after a rebuild of the Croft’s Family Hotel, which had stood on the site since the mid 1800’s. After many years of service to the locals of Paddington, the Unicorn Hotel is now owned by a ratbag crew of mates from some of Sydney’s most iconic hospitality names Porteno, Mary’s and Young Henrys. We look forward to pouring you a beer soon.

The staff were great and really friendly. They kindly accommodated our large group (20 people) at very short notice and everyone had a great experience. The food was excellent and the range of drinks available superb.

Celebrated a birthday here with a group of 12 on Sunday. Great vibe, love the staff, the food is awesome. Can get noisy, and isn't particularly cheap, but not complaining. Thanks for having us!

We had a great experience at the Unicorn hotel for my birthday.
The food was AMAZING. The Service was WONDERFUL the staff were lovely and attentive.
Would definitely recommend.

Gorgeous home made meat pie. Rich unctuous gravy. Creamy mash.

Kingfish special perfectly cooked to order.

Huge Chicken Schnitzel. Crinkle cut chips a bit unimaginative considering the rest of the menu and quality of food.

Noticed the Beef Sunday Roast was cooked to perfection.

Making it a regular lunch spot at weekends for me and the family.

Keep up the great work.

Mary’s burgers are always good. The staff here are the best in Oxford St, bar staff really know their wines too. I love my local! It’s got so much character!

The staff was very nice, and the live music was great, but we went for the roast lunch which we knew was more expensive than most, but thought it would be worth it. Unfortunately the pork roast was very fatty and there was only a slither of meat to extract. We paid $30 for peas, carrots, potatoes & gravy. Won’t bother going back.

Had my birthday party here last Friday and the staff were so amazing and extremely friendly. The table was all organised and the live music made the night even more entertaining. Apologies for my tables’ loud, and very off key, singing haha

The meal was good and then we had a bottle of red upstairs, which was then removed from our table with a third left. This was eventually resolved but it was far more difficult than it needed to be.

The atmosphere was punk/rock & roll, loud and fun. The food was good, but pricey for what it was. Having to order everything from the bar got tedious, but fit the set up for less table service. And the food delivery service and bar service was good except for one bar tender who seemed stoned.

Service and food were pretty average. We tried a couple of the natural wines and all suffered the most excruciatingly awful hangovers.
Certainly disproportionate to the amount of alcohol we consumed. Stick to the beer!

Friendly staff, good food (pricey for a pub) and cool ambience.
We absutely loved the piano man.
But a bittle of prosecco was 60 bucks!!

Very disappointing experience. Food on specials was not available, no champagne in hotel, ran out of savingnon Blanc & questioned did they have to open a bottle of mineral water, resch's beer was flat & outdoor heater did not work so we froze as it was too noisy inside. Will not be returning!

We had a terrible lunch experience at the Unicorn and will NEVER come back. We ordered two fish meals, one pie and one steak - pretty standard pub fare. but after over one hour of waiting and asking, we had to leave without anything being delivered. Yet we were right next to the kitchen and could see HEAPS of burgers and schnitzels going out. this was the WORST service we have ever experienced and totally uncalled for. We had booked, we were not advised to steer clear of any dish, yet we couldn't get to eat anything. We had to leave for a rugby game near by but the kitchen was clearly overwhelmed and couldn't cope with our order. Understandable - but why didn't they warn us on order? Or why didn't they come and tell us we would have a longer wait? This really is inexcusable and we will not come back here EVER. Terrible service, lovely waiter who tried hard on his first day, appalling kitchen service, should have known better. I will go out of my way now to tell all my friends to steer clear of the Unicorn PUb for ever!

Just joyous.. great old fashioned mums grub but with a wonderful wine list and such brilliantly knowledgable staff ... who would have thought that a Reisling was perfect for a plate of sangers!

The service was terrific and my chicken schnitzel was the best I have had . It was a complete meal with no need for extras .
