The first beer was poured at the Unicorn Hotel, Paddington, in 1941, after a rebuild of the Croft’s Family Hotel, which had stood on the site since the mid 1800’s. After many years of service to the locals of Paddington, the Unicorn Hotel is now owned by a ratbag crew of mates from some of Sydney’s most iconic hospitality names Porteno, Mary’s and Young Henrys. We look forward to pouring you a beer soon.
400 gram Rangers Valley oyster blade. Choice of sauce

The Unicorn is the best pub in Paddington. Fabulous, well-priced pub food. Good service.
I had the steak and it was so delicious! I loved that you got to pick two large sides. The bartender was also super helpful at helping me pick out a wine. Highly recommend for a fun take on a pub.
The Unicorn never fails to hit the mark. Best Sunday Roast in Sydney.
There appeared to be inconsistency in COVID related regulations. We felt like we were school children being chastised if we stood up and yet we saw blatant examples of massive group standing up and hugging. I think their approach to regulation adherence should be soft. They assume that their customers have all the context and don't go out of their way to provide it kindly.
Great courtyard, epic service, ambience was great
Wonderful atmosphere, seamless dining experience. Good job during covid.
I really enjoyed my night at the unicorn hotel! The vibe was great and so were the staff. The staff were really attentive and helpful!
Best Schnitzels in Sydney! I would definitely recommend it
Went for the Sunday roast and it was spectacular! Will be coming back
Great spot with excellent choice of beers (especially Suds, Mary’s own beer). Unfortunately, the Mary’s Burger was not as good as we have had in the past (six months + ago) which sort of compounded our disappointment as our expectations were so high).
This is a neighbourhood place for us and we do love it a lot and it is great to be able to go again. It does have a tendency to be pretty loud and sometime that is a bit much, but yesterday was perfect. Food great and staff excellent.
The Unicorn is back and it's as beautiful as ever. I shed a single tear into my perfectly poured schooner as my steak arrived. Perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned.
The most delicious vegan Sunday roast ever!!! Huge serving, very satisfying!
The daily steak with mash and greens was fabulous & pepper sauce!
Was terrible. I understand that during restricted trading you need time limits but we were told after sitting down that we had one hour we showed them our booking confirmation that said 2 and were completely ignored - was a great venue but ignore till it is back to normal
Simple pub food but prepared to the highest standard. Delicious well cooked steaks, with good choice of sides, Mary's burger is always delicious. Food never disappoints here, although we were only allowed to stay for 1.5hrs as our table was booked after. The sort of food you get cravings for every so often.
Best schnitty at the best pub in town. Never ever disappoints
Friendly staff and always great food and drinks glad that you are open again
Always an excellent experience. The Unicorn is the best Schidy in Sydney.
Great food and friendly service. Piano man is a lot of fun.
Truly awesome schnitzel, must be the best in Sydney!
The staff were great and really friendly. They kindly accommodated our large group (20 people) at very short notice and everyone had a great experience. The food was excellent and the range of drinks available superb.
Celebrated a birthday here with a group of 12 on Sunday. Great vibe, love the staff, the food is awesome. Can get noisy, and isn't particularly cheap, but not complaining. Thanks for having us!
We had a great experience at the Unicorn hotel for my birthday.
The food was AMAZING. The Service was WONDERFUL the staff were lovely and attentive.
Would definitely recommend.
Outstanding made to order pie, creamy mash and unctuous gravy. 10 out of 10
The Steak Sarnie also 10 out of 10. Good attention to detail.
Totally excellent as it always us. Never fails to please.
Gorgeous home made meat pie. Rich unctuous gravy. Creamy mash.
Kingfish special perfectly cooked to order.
Huge Chicken Schnitzel. Crinkle cut chips a bit unimaginative considering the rest of the menu and quality of food.
Noticed the Beef Sunday Roast was cooked to perfection.
Making it a regular lunch spot at weekends for me and the family.
Keep up the great work.
Mary’s burgers are always good. The staff here are the best in Oxford St, bar staff really know their wines too. I love my local! It’s got so much character!
The staff was very nice, and the live music was great, but we went for the roast lunch which we knew was more expensive than most, but thought it would be worth it. Unfortunately the pork roast was very fatty and there was only a slither of meat to extract. We paid $30 for peas, carrots, potatoes & gravy. Won’t bother going back.
Sunday afternoon is a great time to enjoy the Unicorn Hotel. The live jazz is incredible!
VAGUE SERVICE. STRONG SMELL OF ESCAPING GAS FROM GARDEN OIL HEATERS
Had my birthday party here last Friday and the staff were so amazing and extremely friendly. The table was all organised and the live music made the night even more entertaining. Apologies for my tables’ loud, and very off key, singing haha
Quite understaffed on Sunday so meant a long wait at the bar and my steak was inconsistently cooked some parts medium rare some parts well done - this happened last time too
Lovely staff and great food ! Definitely recommend and good w kids too.
The meal was good and then we had a bottle of red upstairs, which was then removed from our table with a third left. This was eventually resolved but it was far more difficult than it needed to be.
A great place for our mothers day lunch with our doggo.
The atmosphere was punk/rock & roll, loud and fun. The food was good, but pricey for what it was. Having to order everything from the bar got tedious, but fit the set up for less table service. And the food delivery service and bar service was good except for one bar tender who seemed stoned.
Service and food were pretty average. We tried a couple of the natural wines and all suffered the most excruciatingly awful hangovers.
Certainly disproportionate to the amount of alcohol we consumed. Stick to the beer!
Nice casual place for dinner and drinks. Didn't have my booking though which was disappointing and didn't really have a solution for not having it?
Friendly staff, good food (pricey for a pub) and cool ambience.
We absutely loved the piano man.
But a bittle of prosecco was 60 bucks!!
