Exceptional experience from food to service. In particular was impressed by the service … excellent wait staff that was allocated to our group . The inclusion of the local wines was an added attraction .

Had high hopes, the kitchen mixed up our platter order so we watched the table next to us (who arrived after us) eat our platter. 45 minutes until our table of 5 got any food and when we did there were 4 pieces of focaccia. Wait staff were apologetic but overall a let down out of lockdown.

We were so excited to dine here. Very very loud atmosphere, could hardly hear my husband across the table from me. Our waitress was lovely however service was slow. Every time we wanted to order another drink I had to call someone over to give us service. Entree came out, beautiful food. Shame you only get 4 small pieces of bread on the grazing board. Sadly didn’t get to finish our dips etc as we ran out of bread. There was a good 50 minute wait between entree and main course. We ordered another round of drinks about 20 minutes prior to our main course coming out - they never arrived. As they where busy I was hesitant to ask the waitress as you could tell she seemed stressed and under the pump. When our main course was placed on the table we where so excited, it looked and smelt delicious. We had the 20hr slow cooked beef - the first 4 pieces where absolutely delicious but unfortunately that’s where it ended. Our meat was approximately 3/4 just pure fat so we only had two small pieces each of beef for $60. Overall we left disappointed as we had high expectations, I had to explain when paying the bill that our second round of drinks never arrived so we wouldn’t be paying for them, after abit of fluffing around we didn’t get charged for them. Would definitely give it another go in hope that maybe this was a once off - I’m not usually one to complain but when you spend good money you expect good food.

I've always wanted to stop in as I go past quite often - and so I decided to book a Sunday lunch table in the outdoors for valley views and a little bit of lovely tree-times. The food was a delight - no real faults there except a couple of things were a little salty (and I love salt!) but fully deliciously edible across the board. Some of the best versions of a couple of things I have ever had. The setting was lovely, though the tables were a bit too close for that added aspect of relaxed-ness. But the staff were helpful and friendly.
Things I have a beef about : The music. The 'ambient' music. I am outdoors, I don't personally need to hear music but I understand that establishments consider it a way to generate an ambience specific to their brand. But...so...loud. Like, I am sensitive yeh, but this was so loud that I could sometimes not hear my partner on the same table not more than 1m away from me. Too. Loud. Way too loud. Aggressively, gratingly loud.
The other beef : Paper cups. Yeh, look, no - no I don't really want my expensive drinky in a paper cup. I was thinking this might be a COVID practice, however thinking about the sustainability impact made me real sad. These won't get recycled - they will get trashed. So many cups. Every day. I feel that's unethical. I feel that for an establishment, in the middle of the bush, it seems quite wrong somehow.
I know these are only 2 beefs, and one is really a personal preference, but I'd probably think about it a bit before I go again and that makes me a bit sad too because I wanted to rave about it :(

What an excellent menu for sharing meals with friends. The chicken was perfect (so much so we had it two nights in a row), as were the ribs. The side dishes are spectacular - favourites were the corn cob, pumpkin and potato gratin.
The staff are so accommodating, friendly and go above and beyond to make sure everything is thought about.
We ate in the Herb Garden two nights in a row. It is such a blissful environment that we could have been there for many hours (time restrictions were in place when we were there).
We will definitely be back!

Menu choice was limited. Only one dish for vegans. However our waiter was very obliging and organised an alternate pasta dish. Share first course was not what we are used to. However once the covid pandemic is over, it may be more appealing. Also good manners do not allow one to take a large serving of a dish. Otherwise the venue is a credit to the developers. However, I would find it hard to hear conversation if the main inside area was full of people. Hard surfaces distort sound.
Perhaps next year we will be willing to return.

Hi Taleesha, Unfortunately with the restrictions we're working under at the moment the majority of our dining is outside - which means we're exposed to the elements (both hot and cold). Saturday was a chilly one and all 4 heaters were firing most of the afteroon and evening but unfortunately 2 eventually burned out. It's great to hear you had such a great time and enjoyed the location and our wonderful staff. Hopefully see you for a sit down dinner soon.

The outside dining area was comfortable, relaxed and service was on point. Food and drink offering was delicious and the guys were so happy to be serving again, it was great!
The Estate has come a long way and I can’t wait to see where it goes from here. I will be back!

It was my Birthday, so I wanted something special. We had to drink wine out of paper cups. The grazing platter had the cheapest rubbish that they pass of as meat. The ribs were cold and overpriced but were tasty. If the rest was more up to standard then I would say the ribs were ok. Chips were overcooked and looked like old chips just reheated. When we spoke to Dave (the person in charge) he just said "we were over sensitive" and "they had been under the pump". He was not interested in our complaint. I have been in the hospitality field for over 16 years and know what it can be like. This place seemed that no one cared or took pride in their job. I would not serve drinks at a BBQ in paper cups and this is supposed to be fine dinning. I have never been to an eating establishment that was as poorly run as this place.

Responded on 20 October 2020

Hi Jack. Thanks for your feedback. Unfortunately there was nothing we could do to make you and your table happy. As explained, the branded Trawool cups are used to mitigate safety issues bringing glassware from upstairs into the Herb Garden. The smallgoods are locally sourced and of a high quality. We’ve taken great pride in re-inventing ourselves during the current restrictions. Your approach to all our staff throughout the day was unacceptable. Abuse of our staff will never be accepted.

The view from the Herb Garden dining area is spectacular. the seating is very comfortable and the large umbrella provides great sun and weather protection. The time we spent eating and chatting simply flew past. I'd highly recommend making a booking and getting to experience this fabulous spot and service 'pivot' in these Covid times

Great location, great staff, service is getting better but you need to improve the variety on your menu! Not everyone likes salads so at least have the option of some nice veggies.
Up market prices require up market meals with variety and choice.
Don't let this venue become a pub with pricey meals!

Nice food, limited menu.
They need to be more aware of descriptions when writing / wording menu 😬 Heirloom Tomatoes are distinctive both visually and with flavour , had to ask for missing items in salad , Again Danish feta is not Persian feta . It’s little things like this will trip them up , that said it was a lovely salad but not as stated on menu.
We will visit again 😊
