The food was great and I love the individual tea settings. The food provided in the high tea setting is simple but delicious and JUST right in both quality and quantity. I can't eat mayonnaise and tend to avoid very rich sauces so it was a pleasant surprise that the sandwiches were spread with cream cheese instead.
My only complaint would be that the service was delayed due to how busy the staff cafe was. There didn't appear to be enough staff to cater to the volume of tables and customers present.
With that in mind, It was an overall pleasant experience and a lovely way to spend time with my grandmother and mother.
We adore the Tea Saloon. It’s the perfect place to relax and grab something delicious . Their Anna Pavalova tea is Devine and a favorite with my 8 year old.
service was ok and not quite value for money. wouldn't go back
Very casual atmosphere as opposed to a traditional high tea atmosphere. Food was nice however very overpriced for the service and location.
Terrible. I went there when it first opened and it was good. Now it is awful. It may have changed management. Food was bad - sandwiches stale. The scones never came. We had a party of 6 and it was a complete dud. My 93yr old mother said not to bother with the scones because her tea got cold waiting for it. Really bad - it should close.
Colleagues spoke highly of this place so when I was deciding where to take my Mum and sister for high tea for their birthdays, this was high on the list. It was fabulous, the high tea with bubbly was delicious, beautifully presented and the location makes a great atmosphere. I have to go back to try another scone flavour. Loved it!
Exquisite dining experience- we went to the My Fair Lady high tea and left so full we could barely walk. The food was excellent, tea delicious and wonderful service. We will definitely be back
A lovely cosy spot tucked away amidst the busy CBD hub in Sydney's Westfield. Have been to The Tea Salon many times and we keep coming back. The food is always fresh and delicious, the service can vary depending on staff on the day. It has been a good 18 months since the last visit and this time the tired high tea cake tray was noticeably lighter with delicate morsels than in previous years. Clearly there has been some cost increases which mean less on the menu as options but the prices have remained more of less consistent. Loved that the Gluten Free option was delicious and the GF bread for the ribbon sandwiches were fresh and fluffy. Thank you Tea Salon for a lovely experience yet again!
Food was good. Service was average at best. Could not understand the waiter and that's if we could even get their attention to begin with.
The tea was lovely but two of our tea pots was chipped. If you are after a high tea I wouldn't recommend it as it is a very small area and we were forced onto two small tables. It is also in the middle of the shopping centre rather than a store on its own so therefore quite loud.
We enjoyed the High Tea and attentive and obliging staff.
Cosy spot and we were left on our own to chat without feeling rushed.
My husband and I booked a High Tea. When we arrived, you have to wait to be seated. It took at least 10 minutes before we were acknowledged by the staff and told our table was just being cleaned and would be seated shortly. We had the $45 high Tea (without champagne/wine). The list of teas was exceptional, quite a large range to choose from that came in quaint tea pots and tea cups. Also got to choose the scone we wanted to have. I had the salted caramel scone and my husband had the date and orange scone. The Tea Salon is located in the middle of the Westfield shopping centre, so people always walking past. So if you wanted somewhere quiet and private this isn't for you.
Gorgeous venue with very attentive and lovely staff and a fancy but not too fancy atmosphere. Fantastic value High Tea with a great range of treats, we were so full by the end and took our uneaten goodies home with us. Will definitely recommend to anyone wanting to indulge in some High Tea in Sydney! 5 Stars!
The scones were dry. The sweets were nothing special. I wouldn't return
I always relax when enjoying high tea at the Tea Salon. You have created a wonderful, inviting space in spite of a busy world spinning around the white fence enclosing us. Never want to leave!
Great high tea. A little bit expensive but I suppose it's due to the location.
Great place for a get together .. great food ! Great service ..
Great for a friends catch up! Food was lovely and generous amount too! :)
The service was great. Staff were accomodating except for one who served our high tea, she had no clue about our order & kept saying "yes" or "ok". The tea was excellent as well as the sandwiches & cakes. The scones were slightly slightly hard & dry. The place is tucked in a corner of the mall which isn't on a busy section of the floor but since it is an open area, expect some level of noise. A good place to have lunch with girlfriends & adult members of the family. Baby friendly? Not sure.
This event was a special occasion and I was most dissatisfied. Not only did we have to get up to get table service but when we did the waitress could hardly understand us. The scones were huge and hard, not at all what scones should be. The sandwiches were okay as were the little cakes. For the price the whole experience was very disappointing.
Food was lovely though service (with the exception of 1 staff member out of 5) was terrible. If you can overlook the service issues then the food and tea itself is lovely.
high tea for two people
Enjoyed our high tea even though they forgot to bring our drinks and were a little slow at times. Most staff were friendly and apologetic. Food was fresh and good for afternoon tea. Plentiful and tasty
Lovely China, individual pots which meant tea was hot and plentiful. Staff were attentive. Food was fresh and tasty.
nothing like the pictures on website, very small, completely open to onlookers, disappointing is an understatement
No high tea available when we arrived, only tea and cakes. Scones had run out too. Crammed seating on the sofa, too close to other diners. Won't be going back again! Disappointed
Very disappointed with our visit to The Tea Salon Sydney. My daughters both had kids high tea, the sandwiches were dry and stale, the icing on the cupcakes looks a few days old and the scones were dry. The staff were indifferent at best and one was downright rude when I enquired about one of my daughters drinks which had not arrived after nearly half an hour (it was sitting on the serving island and the waitress grabbed it, huffed loudly and slammed it on the table without saying anything.
Good food, great tea selection but service was slow but it was quite busy as well.
Four of us ate here Saturday 9th July. Booking on day helped as it was very busy I loved the ambiance. The table setting and the crockery were exquisite. Two of us had the high tea and our 2 husbands chose other dishes. The high tea was delicious. It had a varied selection of sandwiches, vegetarian and meat fillings. The scones are varied and just delicious, especially the rose and original scones. There were tiny caramel and fruit tarts. Wine here is pricey. Otherwise excellent value, ambiance.
One of the best High Teas that we have had in the last 5 yrs that we have been doing them
A great experience staff were friendly the food was nice. Child friendly
I took my mother to The Tea Salon for a 'High Tea' birthday celebration. It was wonderful. The presentation is lovely and the food divine. We will both be back! We loved the beautiful teapots and tea service, loved the huge selection of teas too and the choice of scones.
Lovely food and atmosphere. You would not know you were in a shopping centre, it is very quiet and hidden away.
Better than most hotel high tea's in Sydney.
Great food, excellent selection of teas and very good price.
My daughters and I had a lovely High Tea at the Tea Salon. The food was great and the tea selection very good.
I wanted to take my friend out for her b'day, and saw there would be a Katherine Sabbath high tea. The website said until the end of Nov; another said Oct. I contacted the Tea Salon in writing to enquire and they assured me it was until the end of Nov, so I booked. When I arrived, they told me this was not the case. A measly 15% discount was offered only when I expressed my disappointment - I had to ask for a small upgrade which was a better deal. The food, especially the sweets, was average.
Love the setting, even if in a shopping centre. The food was good & good service.
Was looking forward to the Katherine Sabbath inspired high tea. After ordering for 2 we were advised that they ran out of plain scones! First time this has happened to us, so someone dropped the ball (or scone) in the kitchen! The steward later apologised but only because we said something, and offered a 15% discount, even though what we ordered as a replacement was less than 2 svgs of scones. The person who served our high tea had a scowl on her face! Won't be back or recommend. Go elsewhere.
It was very yum
My partner and I were extremely impressed with the Katherine Sabbath high tea. Definitely a must if you have a sweet tooth.Fantastic selection of tea, we purchased the standard high tea which does not include champagne and we really didn't need anything more than the standard. The chai and chocolate tea was lovely and we loved the scone with chocolate. Would love to go back before this special edition high tea ends.
