I am SO SADDENED by the closure of my favourite place in Melbourne - it was the highlight of my trip to Melbourne and will remain in my memory for ever. I would like to thank all those involved for the wonderful experiences that I had ther

Had a wonderful high tea experience with lots of yummy treats. Service was exceptional, decor is beautiful and food is really good. The place was bustling, so a chatty kind of ambience, with a huge range of tea options. So many teas! I'd love to come back and try some of the other options.

Great spot for casual high tea. Sandwiches and cakes were delicious, but I had the date and orange scone and the orange marmalade that came with it was tooth-achingly sweet (would've preferred the jam option).

Very disappointed. Staff seemed very disinterested in being there. The table area was dirty and in disrepair. Offensive bright lights like in a fast food chain, hard, dry scones and my tea pot had a large chip in it. We could not wait to get out of there! Not worth $45 per adult and $30 for children. There are much better high teas in Melbourne.

Only one word "awesome". The food was fantastic and the service was spot on.
Catered for us as we are vegetarian and do not consume alcoholic base foods. There is that option if people opt for it.I think if your in the city and are looking for a cafe that has that wow affect this is the place to go. Ditch the cafes in the arcade with big frufru names and long exhausting waiting ques this is the place to go:):)

My daughter & I booked a High Tea last Saturday morning at 11. We were shown to a lovely table next to the window. The food was delicious & the service friendly & attentive. Our waitress was so nice. There was a large group celebrating a wedding for the next day. The group was loud, but we loved it! Felt like we were part of it. The mother of the groom came over and chatted to us for awhile & made us feel quite welcome. The bride to be was beautiful & had her mother there too, all so wonderful. The other times we've been there it's been quiet, so it shows you just don't know what you'll find. Whatever you encounter, you'll have a great experience. :)

We took Mum to the Tea Salon as part of her birthday celebrations as she loves High Tea. The High Tea at Tea Salon is very affordable and the service received was first rate. In fact I'd like to say a special thank you to the server who looked after our group of 7 + pram on Saturday. She was patient with us even when my husband had trouble finding us (granted, I hadn't told him the name of the restaurant!) and was then further delayed changing our baby's nappy. By the time we were ready to order it was well past our 4:30pm booking time. When the food arrived she happily took a bunch of group photos for us. Thank you!! We go to High Tea a few times a year and it was lovely to find the Tea Salon while we were in Melbourne.

We came for high tea for my mothers birthday and it was wonderful. Staff were friendly and attentive, and we felt very well looked after. The tea and food were presented in a most beautiful way, and we all left feeling as good as if we had dined at the hilton. Great value for money and we will deffinately come again - i dont have a single negative thing to say. You made my mother very happy :)

I had a high tea booking. Overall a pleasant experience just a little let down by the waitress tending to our table. Had to remind her to run though the high tea arrangement and follow up on our tea which didn't arrive. Other tables seemed to be having better service. So possibly an off day.

Loved the ribbon sandwiches, patisseries & scones. Good choice of teas which were well prepared & presented. I chose the couture high tea & we enjoyed the De Perrier Rose. The staff were friendly & attentive . The price is not overly expensive & good value. Overall a very pleasant experience.

My daughter and I were in Melbourne from Perth for a few days and decided to try a High Tea and found The Tea Salon in Melbourne. So glad we did, the selection of sandwiches and sweet treats was amazing especially the white chocolate and salted caramel scone. To top it off the service was second to none. We were looked after by the manager and unfortunately I don't remember her name, I did ask her and have now forgotten. She was very friendly and attentative. So thank you very much for making our high tea experience very good.

The service was exceptional. The 2 ladies serving us went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed our high tea. Food delicious. Nice to have champers with the high tea. They gave us a lovely table by the window. Plenty of food with a nice combination of sandwiches and dessert.

We really enjoyed the food, it was delicious and varied, and a good sized portion (Afternoon Tea).

The staff were very friendly but my only problem was that we had to wave them down several times for additional napkins or spoons etc, as they didn't come to check on our table. Not sure if it was free tea top up, but again we were not asked if we wanted any more and it was a struggle to gain their attention.

Overall, we really enjoyed it and would go back again, for the food and the environment.

It was pretty average and this one waitress was particularly very rude and we got charged an extra 6 dollars which I didn't realise until later and never even recieved or was offered a receipt. And to top things off they didn't do split bills

Booked online the night before as I had a voucher for my mum and aunt who are here from overseas! Received a confirmation text and was really looking forward to it. Drove all the way to the city, paid for parking etc however when we arrived at 1.30 the tea salon was closed!!! I was so disappointed and embarrassed as that was there Christmas present. I rang the number about 20times but no one answered. I can't believe they allow online bookings and then the place to be closed!!!!

I went to the Sydney Tea Salon and the food was tasty and an enjoyable experience had by all. At the Tea Salon in Melbourne the scones were awful and dry, making us thirsty, with unneeded lemon taste through the scones. The other cakes were average too. The Waiter was abrupt and unpleasant with no customer service knowledge and he couldn't be bothered explaining the menu, asking us didn't anyone explain it to you. I won't be returning.

We love The Tea Salon High Tea and have been a few times in the past. My husband and I were given gift vouchers for the high tea and we used them on Sunday, however, would much prefer to go during the week as weekends are very busy. The staff were fantastic and a dietary requirement was fulfilled thank you very much. Try the Tea Salon you won't be disappointed.

Making the booking online was easy, with a reminder being sent just prior to the day too. Very welcoming staff, happy to please all requests, pleasant and friendly. Sweet atmosphere, from the furnishings to the crockery. We enjoyed a delicious high tea (wow!) and were delighted by the quality and quantity of the food. Best were the rose scone, roast beef sandwich and lemon cheesecake - just the right size servings for ladies! A delight all round.

Gorgeous place, table service was a little average. They forgot to bring my pot of tea, so I had to prompt them and when it arrived, they didn't bring milk. I also asked for a straw for my 4yo to help her with her large drink, and we received a spoon? Other than that, the food was delicious and very generous servings in the high tea menu. You won't leave hungry.

Great atmosphere and fun for a colleague's farewell. Attention to the gluten free requirements was outstanding -- a proper selection -- and wonderful choice of teas. We even upgraded to the champagne! We were concerned about this being in Emporium, but this allowed up some people watching and the decor and vibe within makes sure you get a lovely high tea experience. We'd go again and will head back often for a few take away scones!
