The Tavern at The Beekman Arms
Food is excellent as usual and being that the restaurant is in a historical building makes the ambiance terriffic
Great experience. Fantastic food. Great Service. There was a wedding going on in a privet section and the main dinning area was energetic, so the hostess asked if we would like a quit area, and she did seat us in a section that was nice and quiet.
Wonderful Wednesday night with a live musician in the bar.
Our salads were fresh tasting local greens with a delightful vinaigrette.
It was burger night so we tried those instead of the regular menu. The burgers were nice and juicy with terrific accompaniments of mushrooms, bacon, etc.
A couple good local beers on tap.
A very special dinner
Everything was perfect!
Our lunch was disturbed by the table next to us. The noise level coming from it made it impossible to speak in a normal tone of voice. I have a suspicion that the tables have been moved closer together in order to increase seating capacity and that works fine as long as you're not next to a large group of loud people which is what happened to us on Friday.
Our first time here and we have no complaints. The food was excellent (brunch) and so was the service. Our waiter actually helped us with our choices. And definitely walk through the rooms to see how quaint the tavern is! Would go back.
We had a wonderful time
ANDREW was wonderful
My chicken could have been cooked a little more but I was already full so I did not eat the leg
Did not want that to ruin our night
Our dinner at the Tavern was excellent, food was perfect, service even better, made reservation for 730, seated at 735, no complaints here, i live in the area and will deffinately be returning soon, excellent dining experience
We love your restaurant! Our meals were delicious and our server, David is always a blast..
Food and service batter than expected on a very busy evening.
Excellent service - lovely server named Danny. She was outstanding! Great food especially the onion soup. Highly recommend.
The hostess was very brusque. Although there were multiple empty tables when we arrived and when we left, we were told that they were not available. I found her most unpleasant.
Enjoyable evening. Service not up to par for a restaurant like Beekman. Older woman at front desk acted very “put out” when we asked for a different table rather than first one she took us to.
The staff seemed really frenzied. We were seated in the bar area even though I specified that we were dining for a special occasion. The table next to us didn’t like any of their food, and though we liked our food, the poor service colored our experience.
They appeared to be inundated at the inn tonight . When we arrived they seemed less than pleased to see us and said it would be a while til our table was ready . We ended up dining in the bar area - although I didn’t see much difference between the ambiance in the bar and in the main dining areas
My lamb chops and my husbands prime rib were definitely sub prime - too chewy
They ran out of the popovers that came with the prime rib . We were told it only came with spinach so we ordered a twice baked potato . The servers had no idea who ordered what and what table it was to go to. When a manager asked how we liked our meals we told her quietly and she offered to take them off the bill . We were charged 1/2 price and the potato remained . Not a good night for Beekman or for us I’m afraid
Visited the Beekman arms for dinner this past weekend. We had a reservation and arrived slightly ahead of our reserved time. The hostess uttered not one welcoming comment or smile. We were seated in a smaller dining room which was very nice as it was quieter with ample room between tables.
Our drink order and appetizers were delivered promptly HOWEVER, we waited nearly 45 minutes for our entrees to be served. The restaurant was busy but 45 minutes in between courses is ABSURD!!
The waiter advised the kitchen had 200 tickets to fill. I am assuming then that the kitchen cannot adequately deliver acceptable service when the restaurant is really busy !
We watched as a nearby couple grew tired of waiting for their food and got up to leave. The waiter appeared with their dinners in hand asking them to stay - with NO charge for their meal. They declined and left. I was tempted to follow suit but did not want to find another restaurant at that point. When our food finally did arrive, it was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented.
We did not stay for desert, fearing another unacceptable wait. We went to a nearby restaurant for coffee and dessert.
I will give this place another shot as I feel the food is well worth a second chance. I am hoping the waiter is right when he told us the food generally does not take that long.
PS. The meet and greet person should present herself as somewhat welcoming. Her behavior was awkward.
Service is always great. We were thrilled that I’m a Saturday night, they went to great lengths to rearrange the seating chart to give us a table in the wine cellar and then let us keep the table three hours with our friends without prodding to get us out of the way. Food was wonderful.
Sorry to hear yhe CIA trained chef left. Seems understaffed lately. I’ve been eating here all my life and have seen it get pretty bad. I hope the chefs departure doesn’t bode another decline
Amazing food in a gorgeous setting!! We will be back.
Thoroughly enjoyed the Beekman Arms. Service was exceptional. Food was delicious. Atmosphere wonderful. Enjoyed a family celebration for a retirement achievement. Would certainly recommend. Will certainly return.
Reservation was for 6 people, and we arrived on time. We had 1 extra person but had to wait over 10 minutes for them to get the table ready. Waiter was very cordial but hard to find when we were ready to order or to get the check, and food took a long time to arrive. There were very few other customers in the place.
great venue, great service great food. Eaten here over 20 years and always great . Highly recommend it
This is a reallynuce,dining experience
And at very reasonable prices fir brunch.
We would definitely return at a later date fir brunch. Beautiful inn.
Harold and Carol Goldman
We bother enjoyed our stuffed shrimp entree and the rosé sangria was delicious!! The wait staff were very friendly and we really enjoyed our dining experience
We asked for a simple salad for our 4 year old and was told we couldn’t get one. Coffee was awful. We've been coming here for over 30 years and were disappointed.
Great service in a serene and refined environment
While staying in the area, we selected The Tavern for our daughters birthday celebration. What an excellent choice! Our server Zachary was pleasant, attentive and helpful. The food was amazing...escargot, stuffed shrimp and the prime rib which comes with a popover! Drinks were delicious too, particularly the after dinner Black Walnut liqueur. The historical setting and many small dining rooms provide a lovely atmosphere. Overall a really memorable experience.
Having a fly buzz around my dinner was extremely annoying
We met old friends at the Beekman for lunch and had a wonderful time. The freshness of the food, the careful preparation, the friendly server, and the beauty of the garden room all contributed to a lovely day. I live in Maine but grew up in the Hudson Valley when the Beekman Arms was our go-to celebration restaurant when I was a child, and it still holds that sense of celebration. It's a great blend of traditional comfort and contemporary approach.
Wonderful ambience—great selection of entrees for Sunday Brunch/Lunch. I had a delicious Cobb Salad and a bowl of clam chowder. Two others at our table had Saratoga sandwiches(chicken, bacon& tomato club sandwiche)—Sandwiches huge and tasty. My husband said his hamburger & fries were excellent. Beautiful old tavern that never disappoints
Food was delicious. Service was prompt and efficient. Server was very nice.
We had lunch in the atrium which was very beautiful. The food was delicious, and well prepared. The deserts were great!! The service was outstanding. Overall the experience was excellent. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Delightful lunch in the wine cellar: fine BLT with sweet potato fries and a caprese sandwich; good wine and beer choices. Fun location.
An absolutely pleasant experience. It was a Friday night and the Prime Rib was cooked to perfection. Our server, Jessica, was excellent. We weren't rushed and lingered over the best coffee and dessert. Certainly, for the above mentioned reasons, this is why the Beekman Arms has stood the test of time. Can't wait to go back.
Larry the Bartender the best ever !!! This Historic place has the charm of yesteryear. Food is good .
High marks indicate approval of this restaurant in all aspects. Not living close to it, we only visit once a year, but always find it a pleasant place to dine and never consider even looking at any other restaurant in the vicinity.
Been visiting for over 30 years but I am disappointed in the quality of the food these last few years. I used to Rave about the food, now it's just meh! Please make the effort it's not just me. Some items are great but not all and the Turkey Panini was not good half wasn't eaten. The Special Chicken Parm was same. half eaten. Beek used to GLOW with the food. I miss that.
Will still come back as always, all else is awesome but the food needs work.
Bread was cold, butter rock solid. Onion soup was luke warm, filet was burnt on outside, rather tasteless. Mashed potatoes were served cold.
stuffed shrimp was excellent.
This Historic place and 300 year old pub has the finest bartender Larry that has made this a must go to . Food is good with a favorite French Onion Soup. Ambiance in this special establishment cannot be compared to other local places, being it is The Oldest operating Inn in America. It is Cozy, charming and has Larry who locals for years will stop in just to say hello to him !
