The food was lovely. I was unsure why when you are in amazing grounds that the high tea was served under a verandah. It wasn’t the prettiest place to be.

You could do so much more with it. Sorry but we were a bit disappointed.

Thanks

Prompt order taken, food was timely served. Water always welcome for free.
I didn’t see children friendly menu.
Lots of seating outside but lacked umbrellas

Disappointed. I used to frequent this venue a lot & always had such an enjoyable experience.
It was a top-of-mind venue to take our friends to celebrate their engagement for a lovely brunch & mimosa.
Compliments to the chef as the food was delicious. The service lacked so far as I would say they staff did not come across as having ever worked in hospitality. And looked as though they did not want to be there. Shame. We went to the new The Commons after our brunch booking & regret not having booked this venue. The setting was beautiful, staff enthusiastic & food was delicious.

Wait staff not great, had to explain my friends allergy three separate times to different staff members. French toast average, needs more fruit, add berries or something.

Made my menu selection - pizza - only to be told they hadn’t been on the menu for a year.

The staff sorting through the cutlery was incredibly loud.

I love the location, the ambience and the great coffee of The Stables and have enjoyed many visits over the years. However, I have been really disappointed with the food on my last two visits. On my recent visit, although the cafe was not really busy, our order took about an hour to be delivered to us and when it finally arrived was of very disappointing quality. The Avocado Tartine was tastless except for the overpowering taste of the dukkah and the toast that accompanied it was dry and hard and very difficult to cut. My friend had the Eggs Benedict and her toast was likewise impossible to cut. Neither of us finished our meal and will think twice about going there again.

After many years of enjoying the Como Stables as a gracious, healthy, luncheon venue, I am now so disappointed to find that apart from the location, it has become exactly the opposite. Poor menu and food, poor service, unfriendly staff!

I can only say, never again and will recommend to my Toorak associates find somewhere else!

Most disappointing, was so looking forward to having lunch here.
The worst service, did not attend to us at all. Could write a whole page from start to finish, don't have time. Will never go back! Food so average. Such a shame as the location and historical architecture is so beautiful!

Although the waiting staff were lovely we had to call for service after waiting for 20 minutes. After finishing our meal the table wasn't cleared for quite a while.
It was a very hot and humid day and the air conditioning wasn't working. The food was good but it was disappointing seeing so many French wines on the wine list when Australian wines are brilliant. The cafe is relaxing and it really is a light bright stable.

We waited for about an hour and fifteen minutes for our food. Somehow the waitress forgot to put in the order.

We sat outside and there was a big groups who got the table next to us. They did not settle and sat down but stood around close to our tables. They were chatting and talking loudly across the tables. It was not very considerate to start off with and it was also not safe in terms of Covid.

The waitress didn’t give us menus until 30 mins later, they forgot my friends coffee and general service was terrible.
We had booked a brunch menu luncheon but instead were just given a normal cafe menu.

While this is still a most beautiful venue to brunch at the food quality has dipped slightly, not tasting as fresh as previous visits eg. the chicken sandwich. Sadly while one staff member was quite good all others were either rude - not intentionally I don't think more so young and inexperienced, some with terrible body odour which lingered around the table after they walked away and very slow to deliver drinks and take orders. The venue has the feeling like it might have gone under new management. Hopefully it gets back on track as it's a beautiful location and the menu is fantastic.

Staff were very friendly and welcoming. A glass of bubbly to start, which was gorgeous, followed by a delicious avocado tartine with added Persian feta. Food size and presentation was purrfect. All in all a luvverley brunch with 2 good friends after viewing the wonderful Miniature Doll’s House Exhibit.

The set menu was not value for money unfortunately - a arancini ball each for entree and main (largely brunch menu) for $49 was a high price for what was included. The service team were lovely but difficult to catch their attention for drinks and ordering. Love the venue and the food quality served was up to standard. Hope they can revisit the set menu and make sure it's living up to the price tag.

I went to The stable of Como a few years ago for a birthday party and thought it was gorgeous. I have been looking forward to going back. This time, unfortunately, the service was terrible. The staff did not know what was included in the high tea, kept asking the kitchen and could not explain. I ordered gluten-free, and the food was not good. I asked to speak to the manager, who completely ignored us. Very disappointed with an expensive lousy experience.

The service was terrible. Had to ask someone to take an order and then waited 40 minutes for coffees. Food came out faster but was still a long wait. It was also very hot outside. There is no cool air and on a moderately hot day the radiant heat from the roof was very hot and uncomfortable. Food was Ok but nothing special. Not a cafe I would go back to.

We made a booking for 4 adults and a 2-year-old at the Stables of Como on 28th November 2021

This is my third or fourth visit to the cafe and I have never thought to leave a review.

I would say the service, ambiance, food & drink is consistently good.

It was unsurprisingly busy with the Christmas market next door, perfect weather, reopening post-lockdown. Understandably, things were a little slower than usual.
Some people had the audacity to complain about wait times. Imagine being that pathetic.

Keep up the hard work guys, it's great.

The experience was really great! Had brunch with my girlfriends last Sunday. Was just a bit bummed since I was looking forward to order the wood fired pizza and then the server informed me it’s no longer available. Would be nice to remove it on the menu - update it, at least, so customers won’t expect and have to change their minds at the last minute. But other than that, great service from Staff and lovely place!

I've never been anywhere where the service, organisation and initiative of the staff was that poor. I've dined in shacks in developing countries who offer better service and are more organised than the chaos we experienced at the como. And it wasn't even busy in comparison.

We attended your restaurant on Sunday 24th October and it was brilliant. Sadly we were there yesterday 31st October and it was very disappointing. We took friends of of which it was their 80th birthday. He ordered Eggs Florentine and it came with some ghastly patty type thing that he could not eat. I had eggs Royale and whilst the eggs were cooked perfectly, they were stone motherless cold. Our wives had a hamburger and they were fine. Sadly it left a poor impression and we are both reluctant to return again. Also we understand staff is hard to find however yesterday compared to the previous SUNDAY the service was miles apart .
