The Shaw Davey Slum Ratings and Reviews
The food was good and came out fairly quick. They had many different types of beer and it was all reasonably priced. The only issue was because it was busy they kept taking the empty beer jugs and glasses off our table even though we were getting refills so we had to keep asking for more.
Really really good 'pub grub'. An amazing deal got us there, but the food will keep us coming back! Entrée, main and dessert were all great - and innovative. Husband's steak was cooked to perfection and my zucchini macadamia burger was absolutely delicious! Generous servings and good to the last bite. Friendly, helpful staff. Thank you - I will recommend to all I know!
Entree and desert were both good, main meals pretty average and nothing special. Pretty poor service, waited 40 minutes for someone to ask if we would like our desert after finishing our mains. They also forgot about our second drinks. Would come here again for a drink with friends but not to sit down and eat.
Dont let the name fool you.
This place cannot be described with the word slum in anyway.
Good value eating in a lively yet not loud environment. We went on a Wednesday night for dinner with a Scoopon Voucher.
Good choice of meals , creative without being unusual.
I would reccomend for most occasions. They have an under cover Beer Garden , smoking tables outside the venue and also a pool table in the main area. Lots of good value dining and drink deals.
Friendly and sociable staff.
I would highly reccomend
Popcorn chicken was slightly overdone and very hard but everything else was fantastic. Can't wait to go back again, love the kids colouring stuff that was supplied and the kids meals. Had no idea you even did that! Brought my picky family who was so impressed and my mother in law can't wait to show it to her friends. The desserts were great too, love the size and price!
The food is great and reasonably priced. The wait and bar staff are friendly. There is a good selection of beer and cocktails are available too. The venue has an aesthetically pleasing interior. It is bit noisy and so not good for quiet conversation. Highly recommend for an enjoyable night out.
