Excellent food, above average of any pub or restaurant in the local area in my experience. Steaks were particularly good. Great service in pleasant surroundings. Highly recommended.
The RoyalOak is one of the best pubs in Farnham area and my particular favourite. I have been many times, the food is excellent and you can have small portions of some meals. Always a good atmosphere and a quiz every Sunday. They take care over people with allergies. Good value too.
Steak Night Wednesday truly a scrumptious experience everyone should try
Wonderful visit. Charming pub, perfect for a spot of dinner with our two young children. A friendly, local pub with great service and happy staff! A little gem.
Stopped here for lunch, food and service were excellent.
The Royal Oak always has a relaxed atmosphere we eat there regularly good food, great house wine and friendly staff.
Lovely food as always and a fantastic way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
Booked a table through Open Table booking. It was for a family reunion. Lovely atmosphere, very friendly staff. Great Sunday lunch, meat delicious & great Crumble. Staff very attentive. It was perfect for our needs. Thanks. 🌟
This was our first visit here. We were very impressed the food was excellent and the service was just right.
Swift service; tasty, pub fare; excellent value for money; quaint setting.
Sunday roast was excellent with both pork and beef as an option, if you can't decide on just one. Arrived quickly and hot, home cooked, in season vegetables, and the deserts were good to.
Good food, excellent value! we will definitely be visiting again soon.
Mother’s Day family dinner, outstanding service from very helpful staff, very good food, will definitely visit again.
Superb staff service, the food is very well priced and is made with exceptional quality (the taste is not processed in the slightest).
And it's dog friendly - what more can be said than that.
Took my wife to the Royal Oak on Wednesday the 6th of March for a treat and it's absolutely lovely. can't believe we haven't been there before. will definitely be going back in fact we're going back on Sunday the 10th for Sunday lunch look forward to seeing you .....what a lovely little pub just how pubs used to be .
The food once again was excellent and the service very attentive. The beer was also good so we will come again.
Delicious food, friendly staff lovely table by the fire. All good.
A pleasant traditional pub with a fireplace and friendly staff. On the day I went it was quite busy with most of the tables reserved. My starter was a scotch egg with a delicious sauce, watercress and crispy bacon. The egg was perfectly cooked. I found it quite difficult to select a main and eventually chose the chicken breast. The accompanying vegetables were well cooked. However the dish lacked punch. I realise that this is a traditional pub serving traditional food but that does not mean that depth of flavour and taste should be ignored. Maybe just one or two more experimental dishes would make it a pub I would readily return to on a regular basis.
Starter of a single scotch egg for £7 was a bit steep but all the food was great. We were also the only people dining so noise didnt matter. We will defintely be going back.
Very nice ‘ sunday ‘ lunch. Although had to wait a while for food it came freshly cooked and hot. Nice to have chicken breast in chicken burger than usual breaded chicken. Very good puddings. Baileys creme brulee small but deadly.
Service good but we were near the main door so got draught every time it opened.
good local pub/restaurant, If I say any more I may not get a booking on request
Fantastic steak, very tender and perfectly cooked.
Waitress, Sam, had just the right touch and was very friendly and efficient.
Lovely, friendly staff made us feel very welcome. Open fire.
Excellent food, served hot and very tasty - best Steaks we have had for a long time. Friendly and helpful staff, would definitely recommend to anyone to try and they wont be disappointed.
I really enjoyed meeting two friends here. We were all delighted with the food and service
Amazing food! Took a while to come but that’s only because it was all cooked fresh to order. Would definitely recommend. Friendly and helpful staff 👍
Amazing pub to eat in, food always piping hot and very tasty - excellent value for money. Lovely atmosphere, always a friendly greeting and service is superb
Excellent and considerate service
Brilliant food, have never been disappointed with any meal eaten here - Sunday roast is perfect, especially in the winter with the roaring fire
Love this place, exceptional food, and superb service. Friendly and will help with any query. My meal was cooked to perfection and very tasty, and my companions meal was excellent too. Totally recommend this pub for food or a quiet drink, plus has a lively aspect when it gets a bit more full. Lovely local and very good for small gatherings or celebrations. I will visit again and again. What a find.
We have lunched at The Royal Oak several times and the food has always been very good indeed.
Value for money is also quite good. Only criticisms we have are that service is a bit slow and it's rather draughty near the door.
3 of us came here to meet up with our son & we had a very pleasant time . The staff were very friendly , the atmosphere was cosy & the food was lovely . We would certainly meet up there again .
Good quality roast for Sunday lunch. Excellent service and good atmosphere. Will be back
Good food in a good pub with good beer and good service. What more could one look for.
Pub with lots of character and friendly staff. Had a lovely meal with friends on a quiet Saturday lunchtime. Food is cooked to order so a bit of a wait but well worth it. Don't know how it is when busy. We would all definitely visit again.
Lovely roast dinner - in friendly, family, dog-friendly pub - but where we were sitting was very cold (had to keep my coat on). Unfortunately, there were some very young children on the next table whose parents did not manage to stop them screaming and banging cutlery on the table. Food and service were very good though.
Lovely helpful staff and a very dog friendly pub on the main road with some parking and a large rear garden. Food was pub grub and not pretending to be anything else, which I appreciated. The prices were reasonable and the food was good rather than very good. But the atmosphere was cold and gloomy on a grey damp day. The chimneys had not been swept and an open fire will obviously transform the place in winter but there was no excuse to not have central heating on. Everyone was eating in their jackets. So that was not good.
Nice atmosphere, food is always good and value for money. I would recommend this pub having been a few times
Food great, staff great, atmosphere great overall great value for money, great
Lovely meal and fab service. The pork and leek sausages were particularly good. Desserts were delicious- I advise the ‘small’ crumble. It was delicious and a good size.
Excellent pub meal. Just what you would expect. Fantastic pub fare, good beer and friendly service!
