The Rocks Mornington
The Rocks Mornington, sitting on Mornington's waterfront, is a vibrant waterside eatery specializing in tantalizingly fresh seafood dishes with a slew of Asian-inspired plates, served in its relaxing and elegant restaurant. For starters, the hirimasa king fish sashimi with a fennel, apple and ruby grapefruit salad from the raw bar and the vegetable dumplings with shallot, ginger and chili oil are excellent selections. Some of The Rocks Mornington's main dishes include the green tea noodles in ginger chili soy broth with tempura soft shell crab and snow peas, the slow-braised Otway ranges pork ribs and the grass fed lean black angus cheese burger with asiago cheese, bacon and pickles, all of which are brilliantly prepared. The donut-like profiteroles served with espresso ice cream and chocolate makes an irresistible meal ender.
The Rocks Mornington is also a local favorite for holding special events, be it corporate functions or romantic weddings.
O'connors premium black angus, assiago, vine tomato, crisp lettuce, tomato chutney, chips & aioli

Consistently good. Great location and staff are always friendly and helpful.
Great venue and service despite being in pandemic - well done to all!
Always good quality food well prepared and presented. The service is consistent, attentive and never too intrusive. Highly recommended
Lovely setting for a meal and we were warmly welcomed. Unfortunately we were delivered a wrong drink order and had to call someone back over to order a bottle of wine. Main meal was delicious but my pudding of profiteroles seemed like a pudding gone wrong but served anyway - I’m not even sure it was choux pastry. To round off the meal my husband’s whisky was taken away before it was finished and spilt over the table in the process. Service could have been a bit more attentive.
Mums 90th Birthday-great food and service.
good wine list
food is not bad
Great to get out a have a fantastic meal.
I always love coming here, never had a bad experience! Well done
Spot on I will keep coming back and coming back!
Excellent choice on the menu and beautiful food definitely compliments to the chef
Good food served by a great waiter who made the evening evening better
Attentive staff , delicious & varied food ( including vegan) & most beautiful seaside outlook from table.
Will definitely bring visitors to Mornington Peninsula again to dine here.
The food was up to their best ever and the waitstaff made our date night perfect!
Great food and ambience with a lovely view. Will be back
Loved the food and the staff and the atmosphere! loved all of it
Lovely views and the food is fantastic. Highly recommended.
Service was great! Just thought a little side salad would be good considering price of fish and chips, otherwise a nice experience!
Was not told at time of booking that due to covid 19, we may be seated in the adjacent yacht club. The room which had been set up was very poorly done and not up to the standard we expect dining here, it felt like a school hall.
The table was small plastic table with no dressing up.
The staff were fantastic as always, so taking nothing away from them.
Hi Guys , Husbands lamb was beautiful and value for money. I think 17 for the Greek salad was soo over priced considering the size was quite small. I had seafood pasta once again not worth 38 dollars as once you take the seafood out of the shell the portion size quite small, but other than that nice restaurant. Wine was great. Thanks
Great food and service! 🙂
We had pepes and swimmer crab croquette, they both tasted like defrosted/reheat food. Whole snapper was not fresh, was not clean properly, no flavour ie. not fresh. Beef cheek was ok.
The waiter asked for feedback and we were being honest but was told they never had any problems with the food. Well, they asked and I told them with honest feedback. Was not well received.
A pleasant ambience and helpful wait staff; registering for 'COVID' tracking was easy using a QR code.
Would go back again.
We were disappointed. In the past I have had great meals. This time our mussels were over cooked and the sauce rather tasteless.
Just so great to be able sit there again with lovely wine and food and a great view on a Sunday afternoon. We have missed the best place in Mornington very much. Great to be back.
We would definitely go again. One of our waiters told us he went to the protest the day before. Given l am recovering from chemo that didn’t impress me. He should be in isolation. The female waitress was so divine. The food was very good. We will definitely come again.
The staff were absolutely fantastic Very accommodating. Food was very good and our special mocktail was A+
We had a wonderful time as a group of 5. The food was delicious, we’ll definitely be back.
Great food great service the beef cheek was great can't wait to go back
A favourite of ours, especially for a long lunch looking over the Harbour, Covid restrictions left us only 90 mins, however it was just great to sit in the sun and enjoy the great wine, food and service.
Excellent food ambience and service in difficult times
Fantastic food and great service, very friendly staff and nice atmosphere
Great service and beautiful food. A real treat given that we have not been able to eat out for so long!! Sarah is a great host!!
Service was good, the food on the night was very very poor. Not happy
We had to wait for our order to be taken for drinks for a long time, then stopped the waiter to make the order. It was then 35 mins before the first drinks came out and we hadn't even been asked for food order.
We love The Rocks. So delighted that it was open in time for Evie’s 16gh birthday. Brilliant as ever.
Always a great dining experience.
Attentive staff and beautiful view.
My main purpose in eating out is to find something I cannot find elsewhere. The barbeque calamari fit this to a T. This is a go-top place for seafood that is for seafood lovers. Staff were friendly and attentive. Well done.
Hopefully we will be able to come again, once the lockdown of over.
My Wife and I had a great meal to celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary. All of the staff looked after us very well and the food tasted amassing.
We had a lovely meal. Wonderful staff, great food. Perfect in every way.
Excellent food and quality service, highly recommended!
