Curried roast chicken and pistachio pate, apricot and honey chutney, warm bread
Garlic roasted vegetables, herb oil and vegan gravy
Sliced ribeye, horseradish butter, cherry tomatoes, onion, fresh thyme and red leicester
A fantastic evening and fabulous food and the night was made even better with Aaron (Manager), his Mum and partner and most other diners who just wanted to have a party and a sing-a-long! Just fabulous! ;-)
Very warm friendly environment loved the decor wasnt told that the menu upstairs which we had booked only had certain menu which wasn’t much to offer and was told if wanted other food which my partner asked for a burger or something different as stated on the sites menu to be told we cant have anything from that menu unless u booked a table downstairs unfortunately when booking doesn’t tell u this so we had to order a couple of starters and leave and go somewhere else to get food such a shame as we love the rock lodge
Food was amazing, the lamb melted in your mouth& the pork was tender. Had scallops to start they were soft & cooked perfect
Great Sunday roast. We had lamb for 2 served surrounded by veg on a large platter . Highly recommended..
Roast chicken dinner for me Roast beef for wife both delicious. The best Sunday lunch we’ve ever had. Staff were brilliant and overall a brilliant experience
Had the roast beef was very nice crispy roast potatoes and everything else was very good will be going back
My friends and I were delighted with our visit to the Rock Lodge. Food was really great esp the Tomahawk. It took us about 20mins for the Tomahawk to get prepared but it was worth every bit. One of the crew or probably the manager went to check on us a couple of times to make sure we are doing great that evening.
Excellent staff, great service and delicious food.
Love their cocktails too!
There was a great vibe to the bar area, staff were very welcoming and attentive.
Overall food was tasty and well priced. Thank you, we’ll be back!
Amazing food, great service and lovely atmosphere. Highly recommend.
The food was delicious, the staff were very friendly and accommodating. There was a nice vibe in the bar area. It was an enjoyable experience. Thank you.
Not bad, nice roast, but no fish options unfortunately.
We left it late to make a booking elsewhere on Friday and found that the Rock Lodge had plenty of availability.
We were seated upstairs on arrival and were relieved to see that it was busy with a really nice atmosphere. We sat in the corner by the window and had a nice spacious table.
The staff were warm, friendly and welcoming and we had a really enjoyable meal off of their new menu. My husband enjoyed his tomahawk pork chop and I really enjoyed my monkfish with spinach gnocchi.
We don’t live in the area and were just in Whitstable for the weekend but we’ll definitely return to the Rock Lodge (Hoping in the winter they have gluhwein and live oompah music so we can pretend we’re back on the slopes!!).
The service made the night. The food wasn’t too bad at all. We can’t wait to come back for the live music!
We had a brilliant time at The Rock Lodge. Couldn’t fault it. Lovely food and friendly staff - it was my friend’s birthday and she was made up that we’d taken her there. Can’t wait to go again.
Good food great staff
Starters came out with the mains. But food was lovely.
Really nice restaurant, lovely big portions on the Sunday roast
Lacking atmosphere upstairs and despite asking twice the lights were not dimmed. Limited menu for a vegetarian, other dishes unavailable.
Strict Covid rules in place which was good, however the attitude of the ‘security lady’ wasn’t pleasant.
Last orders at 9pm for 10pm close was a little early.
Food was ok, nothing special.
Online ordering was confusing at first, and destroys any customer service, though the girls who served food were really friendly.
Luckily it wasn’t over priced, so not all bad!
Lovely food, very helpful staff.
Booked a table for 6 people & 1 dog Saturday evening,We were very well looked after. The decor & ambience was great as was the food. Our dog also enjoyed a generous bowl of chicken!!!! Would definitely recommend & will definitely revisit when back in whitstable.
Amazing Sunday Roast ! The best in town. We are back next week x
Good food, friendly staff, excellent value for money.
Good meal. Everyone had a good time. Food well prepared
A lovely family meal, with our dog.
Bit disappointed that Mussels weren't on the menu that evening.
Our dog was made to feel very welcome, and was even given her own chicken meal ( lovely gesture )
Amazing atmosphere, and even more amazing attentive bar staff.
Would definitely recommend The Rock Lodge.
The roast dinners were amazing massive portions and yummy food the ambience is really lovely looking forward to dining in here again very soon!
Excellent place, Sunday roast was amazing. Will be visiting again soon.
Was a really friendly place, we had a really nice relaxed evening. Would go again.
Great service and food.
Surprisingly great and good value for money.
Loved this place .. food and service great . Lovely friendly staff and great music would definitely recommend. 😊😊
Service ok , staff could do with being a bit happier, but ok
Food fantastic, especially the roast😊staff very helpful and friendly..lovely relaxed atmosphere 👍would definitely recommend
Went here on a Saturday evening with 6 friends - obviously at the moment there aren't many restaurants that will sit a table of six together, so this was our main reason for choosing the Rock Lodge.
The pictures of the restaurant also looked very inviting and reminiscent of an Alpine ski lodge - unfortunately, we were sat on the ground floor at a window table - my choice as the alternative was downstairs and the temperatures that weekend were in the 30s - but I believe - that is where you would get the real 'Alpine Ski Lodge' feel.
Sadly, there wasn't any live music due to Covid - we knew this before we went, but I imagine that really brings the place alive!
Overall, the food was good - 3 of us had 'Catch of the Day' which was mackerel - delicious, but disappointing rose wine. The staff were lovely, very friendly and accommodating.
Great customer service, very attentive and helpful.. food was ok. Burger bun was too small for the burger and salad. But it tasted nice, good portions too.
Clean, tables sanitised after customers left. Good music not too loud. Nice
Most helpful and friendly staff
Nothing too much trouble
Thanks we will be back
Superb Sunday lunch. Friendly staff.
Definitely worth a visit. Highly recommend.
We used the app which I believe is new. There were a few teething problems nowhere to ask for a wedge of lime, couldn't order a splash of mixer or a spirit without a mixer.
The first courses were lovely. We ordered burgers for our main course, but unfortunately we couldn't cut the base of the bun, not sure if the knifes weren't sharp enough or the buns were too hard. However the plates although modern, were too small for a burger.
Staff were lovely and helped us with every issue we had.
We booked last minute for Sunday lunch. We have been before and return because the Sunday launch is second to none. From the meat to the plentiful vegetables. Superbly cooked and highly recommend. We love that we can walk our dog then eat a Sunday Lunch. A lot of restaurants could learn from the Rock Lodge. Have to say Service was great too. Will be back!
We went for Sunday Lunch which was delicious & huge portions.Unfortunately they didn't have any other Main Courses available so our wives/Partners were forced to have 2 starters instead which wasn't good. The atmosphere was fine & the service excellent! Such a shame about the lack of Main Courses.
We really did enjoy our food especially my husband dish which is mussels with Thai green curry sauce and the place is quite cozy in the upstairs dining room.
