The River Deck Cafe

Meals came out at different times, the order was wrong, food was cold and we all finished our meals before the last order finally arrived. It’s a lovely setting, but we definitely won’t be back.

I was looking forward to having lunch here with my husband during a visit to the region. I went to the trouble of booking, and although that guaranteed a table, we were squeezed in to a crowded space, despite indicating it was for a date. The food was ok but not to the standard I expected for such a venue. The best part is the river view.

We went here to have a lunch with the girls. It was great. We had 2 fussy eaters but I thought everything was amazing. Will definitely come back.

Great ambience and service, creative menu, quality local ingredients and delicious food. Beautiful views of the Murray River and Noreuil Park as well.

Fantastic food, tucked away from the hustle and bustle.
Make sure you take the time to hunt this one out, well worth the wait.

Menu choice did not have many plain options. eg Blueberry pancakes came with exotic extras when icecream and blueberry compote would have been preferred. Just felt the dishes were over complicated and could be simplified with tastier fewer extras.

We had a lovely meal here. They make a great Chai, coffee and the food was really good. Highly recommend the Fritters, bacon and egg baguette and big breaky. YUM YUM

Booked on line weeks ago , when we got there at 9:30 found we where outside and it was freezing , asked to go inside and couldn’t, was told when book on line eating inside is a special request. Took 45 mins to get a coffee, then was told we had 10 minutes to move on for the next booking. Not happy these things should had been told to us when we made the booking. We had a table of 6, and all not coming back !

This is a confusing place to eat, is it a cafe charging restaurant prices or a restaurant serving the public in cafe style??

The food is cafe style while the wine list would hold it's own in any top restaurant with prices to match.

Take yourself to your table, wait for quite a while for your order to be taken, ask for water, and then ask for your wine order after your meal has been served. !

Not too busy, plenty of staff, no excuses.

Fortunately the cafe is situated in a beautiful setting.

A very busy and popular location. Fantastic for kids to play once you have eaten. Amazing view of the river and fun park.

Enjoyed it but didn’t like that the table next to us had their dog on the balcony which kept sniffing at us and barking, while we were eating

Amazing setting overlooking the Murray River. Great food, friendly staff, good customer service, lovely atmosphere and building. Fantastic for families with children, with 2 playgrounds nearby. Highly recommend. Thank you.

The setting and service were terrific but sadly the food was a quite bland the night we went and dishes we chose. The Ingredients were there just not great combinations eg pumpkin with ricotta gnocchi and calamari with curry sauce. Seems interesting on the page but not to taste... needed flavors to cut through. But that that’s just us... subjective of course.

Lovely location on the river. Service was excellent and had great menu options including vegetarian. Meals were well presented and the flavours were delicious.

Gorgeous location overlooking murray river which adds to the ambience. Service was really good,informative and helpful. Bottle of wine was chilled and served professionally.
Everyone enjoyed their main course and my quinoa salad was delicious. We ordered a pannacotta to share but was slightly disappointing. Consistency was thick, coarse and grainy. Wrapped in thinly sliced pineapple and surrounded by dragon fruit. Should have given it a miss.
Coffee and tea was enjoyable whilst enjoying view.

Good food and better than average service, and a great setting looking over the river. However the food is really overpriced for what you get, there are much better options out there for the price they are charging.
