A nice pub/restaurant in a lovely country village location. The staff are always friendly and helpful, and the food is okay. Not spectacular, but enjoyable and good value for money. The internal areas are a little squashed and not entirely comfortable, but it's quite quirky and interesting. For an everyday English country pub lunch it is a decent choice. We will certainly go back from time to time.

Four of us met at the Red Lion for lunch. We waited an hour for our other two guests but staff remained helpful and very pleasant, bringing us a bottle of wine and checking now and then whether we wanted to order.
When we did order they were happy to ask for salad with our fish rather than chips. The fish was moist and the salad excellent.
Our table for six was at one end of the pub, out of the way of traffic and noise and ideal for us.

Very nice pub for food, especially upstairs. The spiral staircase might be a challenge for a disabled person but there is plenty of room downstairs. You need to book well in advance and advise the pub if you have anyone disabled with you.

Very enjoyable experience.

Found it very noisy and didn't like the price of a pint of coke £5.40! and the added service charge.

Arranged to meet a friend here for a catch up over Sunday Lunch after hearing some very good things and we were not disappointed. We immediately felt welcome, all the staff were friendly and provided a first class service. The food was very good, tasty and nicely presented. We were sat within the main bar area, it was busy and at times a little bit noisy, however we did not mind this at all, the atmosphere was very congenial and contributed to the comfortable homely feel of the place. Will definitely visit again.

Very good food and gorgeous traditional pub. Meat courses better quality than veggie options unfortunately. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Sadly they were so busy there was a very long wait for food/service and it got a little noisy. Other than this I highly recommend. Prices are perhaps a little too high.

What a gem! How we’d never heard of this pub is astonishing but delighted now we’ve found it. Dog friendly, warm welcome, good well kept beers and great food in a beautiful period building with a sympathetic touch of modernism where it’s needed! Totally recommend the pub.

A great location and pub though the food particularly the lamb was chewy. This was mentioned to the team at the pub. Overall good service but expensive purely based on the lamb.

I have enjoyed this country pub on many occasions, especially on a Wednesday night when me & a few lads are out on our motorbikes. The food & service are second to no other. However, when it gets busy, especially weekends when me & my wife sometimes visit, the service does suffer a little. Otherwise we love it.

Went here for Sunday lunch with a friend. We live locally but had not been before. The food was lovely and what a treat to be able to have a mixed roast! It’s a small thing but our table was quite close to the bar and I was conscious that my friend, who was seated with her back to the bar, had her space encroached on a little by those people standing at it - so I would opt for a different table next time. Would recommend for Sunday lunch.

A great venue and ambiance.
We were extremely well looked after by the staff. The food was excellent.
Our only concern was when paying the bill
and had we not checked ,an extra meal was added to our account!
A matter for staff training/organisation?
Others a great experience.
Thank You

First visit here and pleasantly surprised, beautiful old pub, friendly staff and food is really good. We were a group of 5 with 1 being a child, all had different meals and all cooked really well. Good wine list too. Will definitely be back to try a Sunday roast.
