The Queens Inn
A stylish pub, restaurant and hotel with a wood-burning fireplace, as well as a beer garden, a deep history of smugglers and a Georgian ballroom.
Fresh, locally sourced ingredients are combined, expertly cooked and served in our stylish, yet welcoming surroundings. Our meals are our pride and joy. We have a passion for creating a complete dining experience. We take the time to prepare our food from wholesome produce for our guests - no fast food, no corner cutting and are confident you’ll find it well worth waiting for.
Our menus show flair and imagination; never sacrificing taste and satisfaction. Our chef is committed to supporting local businesses and produce: Moon’s Green, Wealden Smokery, Park Farm butchers, Maws Fine Foods-Hawkhurst, Bodiam ice-cream to name but a few.
On the whole it was good but not great. Both our starters were average and the Venison Press could have done with a clearer explanation on the menu or from the waitress. I really enjoyed my venison main course and the rib eye steak was also great. Good choice of wines and the service was friendly and efficient.
Excellent service and the staff were exceptional. We sat in the bar and it a good atmosphere not too noisy.
Really enjoyed dining here again. Service is so friendly and helpful. Food is great too.
Pleasant evening with good food wine and service.
A great pub serving great food and drinks with a smile, very helpful and accommodating, as always.
A varied menu to suit all tastes and preferences. Food was well presented and served hot. Would certainly recommend.
Brilliant food, brilliant staff, very quick service & didn’t have to wait long for anything. Overall really brilliant and even had a birthday plate and champagne for my partner!
Disappointed the Queens hamburger wasn't home made. My friend had the belly of pork and while we understand its a fatty cut, there was no meat on it. The acoustics in the dining area made for an unpleasant din! Other than that, I would go back again, but not to eat.
Chris was amazing and the food was absolutely fantastic!!
Delicious food, great service, lovely atmosphere, nice and quiet place to eat. Would definitely recommend!
As it was a Sunday I treated myself to the rib-eye of roast beef and it was excellent, beautifully cooked, piping hot and with all the trimmings including giant Yorkshire pudding, vegetables and cauliflower cheese. My wife had the fish and chips which she really enjoyed.
The desserts were terrific too, I had an amazing cheesecake and my partner had a waffle which although nice I think she would have preferred the cheesecake.
Service was great, we have dined here a couple of times before, it has always been very good and I'm sure we will visit again.
Popped in on Saturday evening for a pizza.
Fantastic food & service as always.
Overall, a very enjoyable experience. The first course of Lamb Loaf contained too much inedible gristle, but was very tasty.I have already made this comment to the staff, who were exceptional. The fish in batter was excellent for the main course.
I like visiting the Queens Inn, and would come again regularly.
Really had a lovely meal. As it was Sunday menu a bit limited. Staff were lovely and restaurant space was ample
Lovely staff and food . Our table was in a funny make do waiting to be upgraded area next to a pizza oven . Asked to be moved but it wasn’t possible because restaurant fully booked . Maybe this seated area shouldn’t be used until it’s “ finished” ? We nevertheless enjoyed our lunch and wouldn’t hesitate recommending the restaurant but if booking again I would ask not to put in the Annex .
Always a very tasty & well presented Sunday lunch. Waiters very polite and attentive too. The Price have gone up since lock down , however we don't mind as the quality is exceptional.
Food was really good and the bar area had a great atmosphere.
Nice food and nice atmosphere. The staff were all very good and polite.
Good selection on the menu
Was really lovely . Food great. Service great.
In all a great place to eat
Good and varied menu. Food well cooked and presented. Attentive service.
Very nice food with good atmosphere and value for money. Only slight negative point but not really negative! Is that the young men serving staff were a little too ‘over attentive’ visiting the table a little too frequently….. but very polite as nice young men.
Lovely food as normal, great service. My mum is in a wheelchair and they always accommodate her. As it was a birthday they bought out a celebration plate without being asked. Thank you for helping us celebrate.
Varied pub menu, well cooked, good value for money, friendly service, very attentive.
fabulous roast dinner - lovely and hot, perfect size portion, great quality meat. starters also really good. best roast I have had for a long long time. could not fault service, seating or food. will definitely go back.
Nice and local for us, friendly staff and great food.
Would recommend to anyone.
Very welcoming, great staff and excellent food/wine list
Service very nice. Environment lovely. Sunday roasts and fish and chips were lovely. Only negative was the children's burger meal. A sweet brioche bun with a burger is not something our 8 year old liked, and then the burger was too heavily flavoured with herbs or something, and she didn't like it. Even her mother didn't like the flavour of the burger, when she tried it. For children, maybe best to stick to basic flavours and not to get too 'flash'. She is not a fussy eater normally, but sadly all she could eat were the chips and the ice cream afterward. A little disappointing.
Very good welcome and attentive service without being intrusive. Excellent Harvey’s bitter, cold and refreshing Sauvignon blanc and delicious merlot to accompany perfectly cooked steaks. Mini creme brûlée was the piece de resistance. All in, a fab evening.
I had a throughly lovely lunch here yesterday (22 September 2021) to celebrate my birthday; the menu is small and offered the usual pub fare, but there was also enough variety to make it a tad different to other pubs. The dishes we picked were nice, especially the mackerel pate, and both main dishes were generous in size meaning we couldn't partake in a dessert. But they brought me out a piece of brownie and a glass of Prosecco on the house for my birthday which was a lovely gesture. The staff were great and very attentive and given it's location, it was surprisingly quiet.
I will definitely be returning to try more dishes - thanks to the team working during my visit!
Excellent service, lovely food
Very enjoyable experience. Would definitely come again here.
Food well presented and nice quality. Service was attentive without being too much. Will definitely return
Creative menu food beautifully presented. Polite and prompt service.
Eaten at the Queens Inn on many occasions now. Weekly in fact. I have never had an issue with anything from there and I’m quite fussy. Its very clean and all the staff are polite.
Nice interior, great burgers, friendly and efficient staff.
Great food and beer! We had vegan options - including the pizza - and it was all delicious. Highly recommended.
Lovely evening, good food. Staff really fun and friendly.
Absolutely amazing restaurant staff were all polite and helpful and food was absolutely amazing highly recommend
It was both my wife and I, birthday celebration and the team at the Queens Inn made it feel very special
They were amazing from start to finish
Felt a bit rushed as server asked to clear plates whilst we were still eating, but they were lovely and food was good
