Char-broiled oysters were fantastic, as were the blackened mahi-mahi and crab cake over fried green tomato entrees. But, the lemoncello cake...wow! As light and refreshing as it could possibly be.
Good food and excellent service as usual nice quiet place to dine
Great experience overall, good food and good value!
The food is always good here. Tonight I had the shrimp with goat cheese grits and Louisiana spices, delicious. The New Orleans bread pudding with bourbon sauce was equally as good. The fact that it’s a BYOB is just the icing on top. Can’t wait to go back again
We have been here before. The food is consistent, always have the roasted oysters...service is great.
The quarter house wasn't actually the first place I tried to make a reservation. The few I tried were booked. Quarts House had. And I am overjoyed that the others were booked! Our waitress was outstanding! bubbly, funny, attentive.
The appetizers were delicious. Entrees also. To write home about. Delightful desserts. Not your cheapest meal but we'll worth it.
Very welcoming right from the minute we walked through the doors. The waiter did not hesitate to open our bottle of wine and give us suggestions off the menu since it was our first time attending. The portions were enormous so it was definitely worth the value. Can’t recommend this place enough. Thank you to everyone there for a great experience.
Jambalaya was very good. `Service was very pleasant. Restaurant was empty which detracted from the ambiance. Decor was average at best. Still the food was good enough that we would give it another try.
Relatively a light night due to it being a Tuesday so we were able to choose where we sat. Tuesday night they offered a 3 course meal for $25. I had the blackened chicken which was nicely done. My daughters had chicken francaise and shrimp creole both were nicely flavored. My husband had the jambalaya and tried the charbroiled oysters. We loved the charbroiled oysters. Service and overall pace of the dinner was good.
Kitchen was very slow and it was a Saturday night in the Summer and there were empty tables, so not too busy. Wait staff was also slow. No bread until we asked for it after having our appetizers. Also never cleared our appetizer plates. Food was very good so maybe we caught them on a bad night as far as service goes. Also wouldn’t hurt to do some landscaping. The restaurant looks like a regular house that doesn’t take care of their landscaping. Wasn’t even sure if the place was opened when we pulled up
Table was ready when we got there. Servers were friendly and pleasant. Appetizers were very good and all 4 entrees were delicious. Would definitely go back.
Everything was great from the service to the food. The jambalaya was the best I’ve ever had! Will definitely be back!
This is my 5th time visiting Quarter House. This visit and the last 2 were very disappointing as they ran out of main menu items. The 1st time this happened we were there for Oyster night in the off season at about 6:45 pm. We were told they were out of oysters. There were probably 10 people in the restaurant beside us on a Thursday off season. Not acceptable. Last night we decided to give it another chance. The choice of entrees were about 8 and they were out of 2. How do they continue to serve guests so inadequately and stay open for business. We will not be back. Very disappointing.
Request to sit outside in the Summer months, it is much quieter than the main dining room and more romantic. Staff was very friendly and attentive. We had a 7:30 reservation on a Saturday Night at the Jersey Shore, very surprised they had any openings. Place was full inside, but we were the only table outside. We started with their Ceaser Salad, delish and fresh. I had the Blackened Ahi Tuna Special - Very Fresh, blackening was a bit heavy so a bit salty. Sides were rice (sticky and bland) with Green Beans and Carrots (fine). Mahi Mahi was the special my spouse had this, he loved it. The couple we were with also had the Tuna and their Jambalaya both said it was really good. Stop by this stop, it's worth a trip!
This restaurant is off the normal beaten path but worth it. It has an unusual menu & is BYOB. On this, our second visit, we took friends for their first visit. We started with the broiled oysters topped with cheese - WOW. As our entrees, two of us ordered the Shrimp Creole which we both felt was delicious and an ample sized portion. My husband ordered the Tues Special which was a Beef Bolognese over pasta- it was a large portion & he really enjoyed it and said it was very different. The last order was the Crab cake and Shrimp platter which was delicious & full of crab with fresh vegetables. The food is always hot, fresh & delicious. The owner and staff are friendly, helpful and attentive. It isn't a large place, but it is quiet & comfortable . We all agreed we would go back .
Very pleasant ambiance. Great service and delicious food. We will definitely be going back. We thought it was reasonably priced for a higher end food destination. Could be a date night/special occasion place, or just a nice dinner out with the family.
Excellent food, friendly efficient staff. I had the fish of the day, very fresh, very tastey!
Great food. Great service. My favorite restaurant in point pleasant.
We really enjoy having dinner at The Quarter House Restaurant. They always have interesting specials and the food is delicious. The crab and corn bisque is spectacular. The waitstaff is well-informed and offers help in dealing with food allergies. They really make you feel at home. I would highly recommend this restaurant (and have many times!)
The food is always fresh and delicious with just the right amount of spice. The service, with friendly and attentive wait staff, matches the quality of the food.
The food was great and so was the wait staff. A very enjoyable dinner !!! The gumbo appetizer was delicious. We will be back.
The food very good. No ambiance
They should upgrade bread and get rid if buttercups for fancier butter
This was our first visit to the restaurant. The server was attentive and the food was excellent. My husband had the gumbo, which had alligator. He loved having not many other restaurants offered. Our appetizer was oysters. They were delicious. The entrees were exception. Since the food was so good, we ordered dessert- a simple cheesecake with a raspberry sauce and whipped cream on the side. Shortly after we arrived, a gentleman began playing the keyboard and it added a romantic touch to a great night out. We will surely go there again.
Loved everything about the place. Definitely going back!
The food is very good and unique for the area. The entrée was delivered while the appetizers were still on the table which was not the best timing. Otherwise a nice dining experience.
We should have known when we walked into the restaurant & it was empty, that it wasn’t going to be good, and this is supposed to be their busy season. The club soda was flat, the sauce tasted burnt, & the fish was over cooked. Don’t think we’ll be going back.
The food was delicious. Probably one of the best meals I have ever had!
We felt extremely rushed. We weren’t even finished eating and the waitress tried to take our plate away. We were in and out in less than an hour
This was our first visit to the Quarter House. It was incredible. We plan on becoming regulars and will introduce the restaurant to our friends as well!
Quaint creole oriented spot in Pt Pleasant, strong menu and convenient location with dedicated parking lot.
None of us had ever been there before and we were all pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious, the staff was attentive and friendly. Bringing our own wine was extremely helpful to being able to afford to dine there. It was a great choice and we will be back!
Ample parking, friendly host, wait staff was very friendly and professional, food was exceptional, and prices were reasonable - what else could you ask for?
The menu is a bit limited but I would be hard-pressed to not try everything on it if I was local. Oysters, shrimp, and crab dishes were spot on and the bread pudding was the best I’ve had - well done and thank you!
quite rest. off the beaten path , nice enough but kinda old school. Fish was fresh, gumbo was delicious, blackening spice a little salty. good but not great
Always excellent! Husband always gets the Jambalaya and the oysters are amazing!
The food was acceptable - service was prompt but the server was void of personality - didn’t even say “thank you hope to see you again”.
There were only Actotal of three tables of people so he certainly wasn’t under pressure.
Would not go back again.
Excellent in all facets
Third time eating here and its has been awesome each time.
Good food, authentic New Orleans cuisine. Portions were ample and at a good price point. Dessert choice was minimal. Service was spotty. I felt like the waiter wasn't trained. The biggest problem with the restaurant is its decor. The dining room is bare with white cloths on the tables. No atmosphere. Parties of two were sitting at round tables set for five. Better ambiance would bring me back. If not, it's as good as any other seafood spot.
