The Press Club is an intimate, 32-seater with a fit out that's all curved leather booths and reflective surfaces.

It's unmistakably fine dining, complete with tasting menus and à la carte options on select days.

But remember it's George Calombaris, it’s playful, not pretentious, we never forget the true relaxed spirit of Greek hospitality.

Cannot recommend enough. If you are in Melbourne and want to treat yourself it's a must. Staff are incredibly welcoming. A remarkable attention to detail. You can feel the love and commitment from everyone involved.
If you can, book a table next to the window overlooking the kitchen and watch some professionals at work.

It was magnificent. My partner and I were there for an occasion significant to us, and the staff we're helpful and informative without being intrusive and the food was delicious.

This was the second time my wife and I attended the press club. The first time was 4 years ago for our 40th wedding anniversary and it was for dinner. This time it was our 44th wedding anniversary and it was for lunch. Because of the price, this place is for special occasions only, I found the wines a bit expensive (I love the Bindi pyrette) but not at $97 a bottle so we settled for a sav blanc instead. Service was impeccable again.

Celebrating our 2nd anniversary, the Press Club was the ideal place considering my wife loves George and Master Chef.

The service was exceptional, the food exciting, well timed and amazing on the palate, lovely personal atmosphere.

Only grudge, paying $83 for Abbey Creek reisling.

My daughter and I had a wonderful time at The Press Club. The staff are so very friendly and sincere, they made us, tourists from Singapore, feel right at home. We were even taken down into the kitchen and introduced to the chef and his team after our meal.
We had the 5-course kerasma tasting menu, paired excellently with wine by the very skillful sommelier from Venice.
A culinary and dining experience we would love to have again when we revisit Melbourne.

We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at The Press Club. We chose the tasting plate with matching wines. Our waiting staff were exceptional, especially the drinks waiter. His knowledge of the wine, the region it came from and it’s equivalent in Australia made the whole experience even better. Plus he was very quick witted and engaging with our table.
The food was amazing, presentation excellent, sizing perfect and beautifully matched with the Greek wines. Which were surprisingly good.
Totally enjoyed the whole experience.

Not as good as I thought it would be - thrice cooked chips soggy and yucky - octopus TOUGH! (and the "cold" octopus" lacked cohesion - too many elements)...Grouper with orange reduction was underdone and sour...not enough choice in the Mains and the use of Greek words means you have to ask the waiter what the food actually is (what the heck is "Smir")...Baklava too minimal but the rice/cinnamon dessert was BRILLIANT and worth coming back for-the staff cannot be faulted and the service excellent.
