Service needs work. Excellent food. Great atmosphere.
beautiful long lunch with great service.
catered to pescatarian dietaries wonderfully too.
The food was sensational! Will definitely be going again.
Sad to see 'The Pot' close it's doors, but welcome its re-opening as "Nido'. With Max Sharrad continuing as chef, we know it wil still be the place to eat.
Great food and amazing service!!
Slow service, waiter didn't suggest on portions and uncooked chicken. The Pot's standards has certainly dropped .
Absolutely delicious!!! One of Adelaides’ great restaurants!
Portions are small, air conditioning was leaking, chicken dish served in a bowl was awful and difficult to eat. Over priced resturant, will not recommend to anyone.
From the minute you enter the restaurant you are greeted like an old friend. The wait staff are exceptional; they are attentive and ensure you have a great experience. The food...well it is a “party”in your mouth. The combination of flavors and ingredients excite the taste buds. Combinations of flavors seem unusual; but it all works. The Chef definitely is thinking out side the box . Highly recommend this restaurant. In our travels, we have had many great food experiences , we include this in our favorites
Amazing experience. Our group really enjoyed the tasting menu, and it made for a wonderful birthday dinner.
Food and service were exceptional, atmosphere was relaxed, the tasting menu was incredible value and the wine menu was comprehensive.
Amazing service and amazing food. Everyone was friendly and our main waitress took good care of us.
It was a great experience, but it was a little disappointing that on the tasting menu the only protein we were offered was fish, it could have been mixed up a bit.
Other than that great, staff were friendly, food was delicious and well executed, wines were great (but a little pricey for what they were).
Always serving up beautiful creative dishes. We love it here!
The food was good but not as good as Shobosho, the wine list was disappointing, with very little that appealed to us - BYO would improve the situation. The menu could be more descriptive. The waitress was very good and the décor and ambience were also very good. I would recommend it, with some reservations, but my friends and I will not be rushing back. There was noting on the menu that stood out as amazing.
Attended the Last Friday function, Interesting wines and great special menu, well organised and great service.
Disappointing! we were expecting big thing from the head chef but we left very disappointed. The food was just ok, covered in sauce, mostly not balanced. The thing that annoyed me was that the tasting menu was more expensive than getting the things we got singularly...when is that ok? The only good dish was the flounder but that's not enough when you spend over 200 dollar for dinner for 2
Sensational food wine and service.
Cant wait to come back and enjoy those tasty crab sandwiches .
My wife and I and a fantastic night with delicious food and great service
I've been going to the Pot for years and years, for special occasions or date nights and it has been consistently fantastic - until tonight. A hot summer's evening, the menu did not compel and the beautiful main ingredients (kangaroo/mullet) arrived sitting in a sludge of over-powering sauces. We longed for the perfection of old.
I had dinner on Wednesday with two friends and enjoyed the tasting menu. The food was delicious and well balanced with lots of flavour. Very simple food which focused on the key elements of the dish. Service was attentive, friendly and efficient. Had a lovely night . Thank you
Spectacular food and wine. Lovely spot for date night :)
Very attentive service, great fresh veggie loaded menu (an improvement from my last visit - over a year ago). Good value ‘feed me’ menu that was just the right amount of food.
Absolutely loved our meal - food was mouth-wateringly delicious, wines were fabulous and the service above and beyond. Can’t wait to come back
Fantastic food. Every dish was amazing and staff and Max the head chef where very friendly and will be returning very shortly for delicious food
Unpretentious but really flavoursome food and a great selection of wines. Parsnip soufflé to die for.
The Pot is always such fun! The food is excellent and we love that the menu is always different. We love their use of local and regional produce and a lot of the menu items are organic and sustainably sourced which is important to us. The staff are fabulous, have great knowledge and really add to a wonderful experience. The Pot is our go-to restaurant!
We were keen to try the Pot again with the recent change of chef and of menu. Unfortunately we were disappointed. The food was ok (although not as good as it used to be) -- the main issue was the service which inattentive and sullen.
Really disappointing food overall. Small portion sizes, not great flavour combinations, presentation was average also. It was suggested to get bread with our 4th course because it would be awesome to soak up the juices of what we were eating but we were charged extra for this bread. Finished the feed me menu with a peice of bony, over cooked fish that wasn’t enough for 2 people. We left feeling hungry and very let down as the expectation of The Pot we had was meant to be a fine dining experience.
The meal was fabulous and the service great. Really enjoyed the evening.
They have a great chef but they need a little more work to do. Very small portions for the money.
Not good value for money I'm afraid.
Hair was in the 3rd dish.
Menu did not state “share plate for 6” is charged per person
Was surprised when we went to pay.
We were disappointed with our meal at the Pot. The serves were small for the price and weren’t exceptional to justify that. Sorry but not likely to come again.
food and general service was good. Couple of things niggled me a little. I get the 'chefs surprise' element of the tasting menu. But when asked the waiter couldn't say whether the course coming up would be better paired with red or white wine. Instead saying to wait for the food to come up before ordering. Also the fact there is no dessert course to the tasting menu. Was told afterwards it was a savoury tasting menu even though no mention on the menu or by staff prior.
Very average food - hard to see how they could score a hat in the guide with this type of quality
Limited menu without much of interest in the options
We were a group of out of towners, arrived early 45 mins and asked to use the bathroom which staff very pleasantly obliged. We decided to have a drink before taking a quick pre-lunch stroll. Several delicious Japanese cocktails (yuzushu based) laid these plans to waste! Not to matter. We sat down at our table and proceeded onto lunch. The menu is large enough to offer good variety but not bewildering so. The dishes are perfect for sharing and really showcased the local produce. We loved the wine list (ditto) and open kitchen. What a fantastic neighbourhood find. Would definitely come back again.
No sparkling red
Food took too long to come to the table. However the food was delicious what we had
They were very lovely about making a kid-friendly option for my son and our brunch was perfect.
I booked a table for 2 on a Saturday night and ended dining sitting on a stool at the bar. Not a good start! Anyway it was so busy that it took 30 minutes just to order drinks and even more time for the food although we were sitting right in from of the waitress. Although adequately cooked, the dishes were just average for that price range, nothing outstanding. Overall, it felt like an overpriced, very noisy, restaurant with average food and poor service. Very disappointed especially as there are so many great alternatives in Adelaide in that price range.
First time at The Pot and we had a great experience! The staff were lovely and the service was attentive. We actually made a last minute dinner booking and were sat at the bar but that was perfect for us. I had a choice between three vegetarian meals I believe, I ordered two plus dessert and that was plenty for me - and they were incredibly tasty. Would definitely recommend.
