The Park Gate Inn
Lovely cozy little pub just behind Leeds castle, we had the festive set menu and the quality was incredible. Recommend the pork belly! Really good value for money
Nice Pup next to Leeds Castle. Easy walk from there. Friendly staff, very good food, cold beer - overall: very good!
Authentic cooking. Roasts and vegetables were nicely cooked. We all commented on the quality.
Excellent food especially slow cooked lamb shank which just melt in your mouth and my partner order a vegitarian starter as a main course which was kindly obliged which makes it a very good customer service.
Great service and tasty food menu choice low but it was Sunday evening
We had booked a table for 5.30pm on a Sunday. When we arrived they told us they had no roasts available but they were cooking some more but weren't sure how long it would be. We were starving so we just asked if we could have a pie each with roast potatoes. Staff were happy to oblige with this and it was a really nice meal in the end. Just a shame that we went without a roast - which was the reason we went there on Sunday. All in all very friendly and food was nice. :-)
Have been here before and been lovely but very disappointing 3 meals were inedible and went back very small salad and chip portions rice could cut with a knife so stodgy and no sauce with the curry.
The Park Gate is a very pleasant place for a meal. We chose it to entertain our friends. The service was very slow but to be fair there were a lot of people there, including a party who were very noisy. This, of course was not the fault of the staff. It was just annoying not to be able to have a reasonable conversation. Our waiter was very pleasant and helpful and did his best to serve us as speedily as possible. We would certainly go there again.
The kitchen was under pressure and so the service was slow however the waitress very apologetic and money deducted from bill.
Be careful using OpenTable as according to the restaurant, they have no access to live bookings and allowed us to book a table that didn’t exist!
Thanks for ruining Mother’s Day for our table of 9 OpenTable.
I won’t be using your website again!!!
Lovely, very nice round table, perfect for a large party & odd number of people. Great service & food. Would recommend.
Welcomed in on a cold January evening good wine menu and great food choice we all had sonething different pies looked amazing will return
Booked via open table but on arrival venue said we had not got a booking (it was the second table that evening that they had not been notified of yet we booked 3 days in advance) Next time we will book direct with venue.
Lovely staff, very friendly and food delicious. Will visit again.
When we arrived we were kept waiting as no-one was at the bar. They then struggled to find the booking, when they did we were kept waiting because the previous occupants had not left. We waited 45 minutes before they found an alternative by which time half of the items on the menu were not available the waitress was stroppy and unhelpful. I can’t even say it was worth the wait because The food was poorly cooked and cold. Worst meal out in a long time.
Lovely food, good options on menu, lovely staff. A very pleasant evening. Thanks
We had a thoroughly nice time although the food did take time to arrive. This did not matter as we were catching up with a friend. When the food arrived it was hot and very tasty.
Would go to the park gate again.
Food average at best, no atmosphere and the outside of the place needs a good tidy up, i.e. sweep!!
Our pre lunch drink outside at a table with lots of cigarette butts underneath set the tone.
We pre-booked a table online but the booking did not register at the pub. There were no spare tables, only in the self service area. We found a table and ordered a sharing trio roast platter meal at the bar. We waited 45 minutes for the meal to arrive and when it came, after we had chased it up, it was cold, the potatoes were black and like bullets and the portions were very small, not fit for two people to share! We asked for the meal to be changed but the replacement meal was just the same. The excuse as to why the meal was cold was that there was a breeze in the kitchen which was cooling the food. We picked at what could be eaten and left the rest. As they were very short staffed we were not able to find anyone to let them know how disappointed we were and therefore we won't be returning anytime soon! It is a shame as we have had some nice meals there in the past but this one experience has tainted our view of the Park Gate Inn.
A family Sunday lunch
Pleasant local pub serving good food, convenient location. Only downside, it was very chilly in there!
