We made reservations on Open Table - I do know that LA restaurants are closed, but this offered outdoor seating.
We don't live in LA County - we were coming to visit our son. Each County has its own way of following the rules.
When I called to confirm, I was told that they were closed for service. When I asked about Open Table, I was told that her books were closed. She treated me like I was crazy - rather than say politely, I am so sorry and I will make sure Open Table is updated so this doesn't happen again.
When LA County does open up, I'll go to the restaurants that were very kind when we called.
Food and grog were great. They’re doing a good job with the patio seating during COVID.
Hostess was friendly and very helpful..waiter(s) were knowledgeable and efficient..would definitely recommend the dining experience. Food was delicious!!!! They made dining in the sidewalk very enjoyable 👏🏻
Restaurant has a nice patio with heaters but it is a dusty busy corner in downtown.Love the breadsticks and warm bread. Excellent steaks, cocktails, shrimp cocktails, and coffees. Don't get the caprese salad, tomato is terrible and its overpriced.
Excellent service and the meal was superb! The outside dining was great as well. They had heat lamps to make it comfortable since we know those California nights are cool.
The Palm is one of our favorite places to eat! Our friends have been going for many years, we are a few years behind!
The new Manager is amazingly cool! He brings his New York vibe to LA and works it! The staff is always amazing as well as the food!
* stars baby!
Great experience! Food was excellent! Service was excellent! Ambiance was great! I will be going back in the near future.
It was our first time here and we loved it. We shared a salad, got filet mignon and au gratin potatoes. To finish up coffee and carrot cake. The food and experience and service were top notch. Thank you!
Did the online reservation, and noted in the "Occasion" pull down that it was for our anniversary. This was not acknowledged during our visit. Also didn't know the Prime TIme / happy hour deals were for the bar only, but the bar inside is closed. This wasn't clear on the website.
Our food was good, but it is a bit pricey even for DTLA. The wait staff seemed spread thin, and I think he forget to place my mushroom order so they came out 10 mintes after my steak arrived. It's a decent outsoor space, but you may be subjected to "visitors" leaning over the railing from the sidewalk.
We enjoyed the Italian specialty of caesar salad, garlic bread, and spaghetti with giant meatballs. We were disappointed that a 6 oz bottle of diet coke with no refills was $4.50. But the food was very good, and the price was a Sunday special.
We didn’t know that Landry’s bought The Palm so we were surprised to find no signature hash browns and no key lime pie on the menu. Luckily, they had two delicious lobsters for us.
When deciding where to eat we were looking for a happy hour menu. Listed on a lot of websites was “we are not doing happy hour right now cause of covid” however The Palm still had their menu up. After setting a reservation and driving an hour into the city, we arrived for them to tell us they were not doing happy hour. Very frustrating and the website could use an update!
It was awesome !!
Although it’s pretty expensive, the food was great. Will definitely be dining there again.
Enjoy the venue, patio service only at this time, but still a great steak and lobster restaurant.
The food was amazing and our server was on top of everything we needed definitely will be going back! Glad I celebrated my birthday dinner at this fine place!
Went to celebrate my mother in law’s birthday. The server was nice, but then when we ordered we waited almost 1.5hrs to get our food. My nephew is 5 and I asked them to bring out his food if it’s ready because we had already waited an hour, and they only brought out half of what was ordered. They went and got the second half of His order about 10 mins later and then still charged us for it. My husband and I ordered the lobster and steak....it was the worst lobster I had ever eaten And I love lobster. No flavor, no garlic butter or any sauce (just melted butter) and it wasn’t cooked properly. I didn’t even eat half of it. The steaks were undercooked and all fat, again no flavor whatsoever. The side of 3 cheese potatoes had no flavor and tasted undercooked. Our meals cost almost $400. It was very disappointing and not a place I would ever go to again or recommend.
Excellent customer service and great food.
Impeccable place with amazing food and service. Our server Juan, went above and beyond to make sure our first experience in The Palm LA was great. I noticed they were a bit understaffed but the manager coordinated all guests’ experience flawlessly. 10/10
Six family members went to Palm to celebrate my daughter’s 21st. It was nice to be at a restaurant, it was lovely outside, they made us feel comfortable, the food was delicious and I am so thankful of all of their support in celebrating. Make a reservation and visit Palm, you won’t regret it.
I have been to the Palm Downtown many times and this was different because of Covid 19 but that can't explain the poor service and general lack of Palm feel. The food was good but it took an hour to get food and even 30 minutes before we got water for our table. There are only 6 tables when we were there. The server was nice enough when he was there but he was never there. Sadly I don't think I will be back for quite some time as this was horrible for a $500 dollar dinner bill.
We dined on an outside patio that had plenty of space for our party. The staff is skilled in the new art of today's new safety procedures to the point we were able to enjoy our diner without a worry.
Excellent Service, terrific food. Always a treat.
The food did not match the price
I am very happy that The Palm is serving dinner on their patio. Gregory was wonderful making us laugh and he made the perfect food and wine suggestions. Looking forward to my next “Treat Yourself” dinner.
The service was incredibly slow, but they were short staffed and our server was very kind. The gentleman checking us in wasn’t exactly the friendliest. The food however, was delicious, and the outdoor patio is lovely.
Omg so so good. I got the lobster special 5 pounds and 3 cheese potatoes. I can’t wait to go back!
Food was not priced according to quality. The steak is good, but you’re really taking a gamble if you order anything else. Overall, I spent $200 on an okay meal.
We were happy to find a nice restaurant that was opening for outdoor dining. Such great service from the staff. Food was delicious
Noisy street from terrace.
It was my birthday dinner with my girlfriend. We had an amazing time service was great as well as the food. The view was lovely too see being a traveler and not from LA, all an all an amazing experience will be back!
Honestly I didn’t like that they allow dogs there. They were barking at each other and being disruptive. The waiter took for ever with our drinks and honestly I felt discriminated because we were not white. It was my birthday so I was really looking forward to celebrating. The only reasoning not giving it 0 starts is because the food is outstanding. Worth every penny. Unfortunately will not be going back to me service is everything.
My wife got a bad steak. The place looks like it’s not only suffering from the pandemic but also from their BK.
By far one of my favorite places to dine. Commendations for stellar service and for keeping the doors open during this pandemic. I can’t wait to return to the ambience that awaits when you walk through the doors!
Outdoor ambience was not great. There were a lot of bugs/flies, loud noises from the adjacent metro train and foot traffic. I would wait to dine here once indoor dining available again.
Not worthy the price, awful service, mediocre food, too expensive
Anniversary
Great the waiters We are very knowledgeable about wine and food
As always, the steaks are fantastic. Menu limited still. Service top notch. Just supporting The Palm!
