Overall the standard of food was very low, it was the last night before lockdown so very busy. Our food was rushed out with no care taken the chips were almost raw and the steak blue even after asking it to be cooked again. We were asked about 20 times if everything was OK, though it was clear they wanted our table out as quick as possible. Really need a new chef and proper wait staff training. As locals we won't be returning.
It was a lovely pub, friendly staff and amazing roast
Lovely Sunday lunch, lots of space for social distancing, good options for kids. We will definitely visit again after lock down.
Good was very good. Took quite a long time as it was early but the food was cooked from fresh. Enjoyed it.
The only issue was ( not for me) but i could see for other diners. There was a dog under a table and the owners dog was wandering around. If you're not a dog lover this wouldn't be nice. Or hygienic really.
Having had a great time here previously, we were let down in this occasion.
First if we were told that they were very busy and our food would be 45 mins.
It was steak night so we ordered 4 fillets, then told they had run out, order t bones and then told they had run out.
No alternative offer so we left after about 1 hour of waiting to eat elsewhere.
A pity as really nice place so hopefully a one off!
Really disappointed with everything. First in restaurant but service was terribly. Starters good but service shocking as not enough waitresses. Rib eye steak raw when requested med rare so sent it back only to get one that was also raw! Didn’t eat it.
Waited about 40 mins to get bill and leave. Other customers also experiencing major issues with no drinks served for at least 30 mins.
Won’t be going back!
Great pub, food and staff, lucky for us it will soon be our local.
Meet friend for lunch both had fish chips was amazing taste puddings could have been better if homemade was surprised how good food was as the last time we eat this was help out eat out deal. Meal was terrible good good no we gave it another go thank you Coach Horses
A
Such a lovely pub! Made the family and the puppy feel very welcome. Sunday roast was very yummy ! Thank you will be back!
Fantastic staff, wonderful food, beautiful pub. Thank you
Great food in a nice place with a good atmosphere, well worth a visit.
Went for a meal with a friend and we sat by the fire and it was such a lovely evening
I had high hopes for our Sunday lunch here, but unfortunately, all hopes dashed on arrival of our food
The menu promised, your choice of roast + cauliflower cheese, roast potatoes, carrots, broccoli, red cabbage. The roast lamb was plentiful, but along with my 4 roast potatoes, there was a spoonful of cauliflower cheese, 3 asparagus tips and peas. Please explain why a gastro pub runs out of vegetables at 3pm on a Sunday, with very little apology and no deduction off the bill. We wont be going back. On a positive note, the staff were very friendly and they accept dogs.
The pub is charming and we were delighted to have our own area. The staff were efficient and attentive and friendly. we were made to feel very welcome. The food was excellent and our vegetarian was impressed by the options available.
We had an enjoyable afternoon celebration meal and will certainly return.
An excellent country-style pub with a very interesting interior (and outdoor eating too). Service was excellent. There were four of us, and we had a traditional Sunday roast. All were very good, except one chicken was undercooked. I would strongly recommend it but avoid the chicken! Also, check the table for wobblyness.
Sunday lunch for 4, table booked for 14:00, but unfortunateley had to wait until 15:00 before we were shown to our table. Nothing wrong with food, in fact it was very good. Staff were rushed off their feet, but they coped well. When bill came, we had been charged £30 extra for drinks, that the previous occupants of our table had ordered. No apologies from management at all.
great service, tasty food, good atmosphere, will recommend
Our first time at this Pub friendly staff and pleasant dining area. If I had to find fault it would be that the portions of the main course were way too large. Next time we will go for a starter and dessert and leave feeling much more comfortable.
Good service, great and tasty food, have been there a couple of times now and it's my favourite
Wonderful meal, lovely service. Will definitely be going back!
Had an excellent meal served by first class staff. Will return.
Lovely place to chill relax and have lovely food.
Waited 45 mins for our food order to be taken but no one came. So we left. Poor service!
Great food, lovely staff, dog friendly. Recommended
A pub so nice, we visited it twice in the same day! Great service, friendly, welcoming staff. Felt very Covid safe. Food was good and came very quickly but steak quite chewy. Great cocktail and good beer on tap.
My wife was told that as there were no rib-eye steaks left she would be upgraded to a fillet. When it arrived it was rather tough and chewy and when the bill arrived we had been charged the fillet peice.
The owner's large dog was prowling through the dining room. We are not against dogs having had many ourselves but not in a dining room.
Staff friendly and attentive without being over bearing. Food delicious, well cooked and promptly served. We had a lovely evening.
Good food at a reasonable price, with excellent service.
Went here to celebrate my husbands birthday. The service, food etc was excellent. I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant for a meal or even if you just want to have a few drinks.
Good service, very tasty food. We all had burgers, veggie and meat. Would return and due to the deal of two burgers for one it was very good value. We were a group of 5.
Very friendly amiable staff, gorgeous food we will definitely be going back
Excellent service and interesting menu which was cooked for us. Would strongly recommend as a very good venue for a relaxed and delicious lunch.
Lovely - food good quality and very tasty especially the scallops
Had a fantastic lunch for 4 on Saturday. Good food, lovely people. Will definitely return!
Great meal out, had starters and mains. The chicken pie wasn't amazing and I wasn't too sure if the chicken was actually cooked through as it was pink. However everything else was great. The staff were polite and took care of us. Reasonably priced too and great ambiance.
Everything was fantastic. The food was exceptional, everyone was friendly and accommodating. We'll be back - Maybe for 2 for 1 steak night next time.
Lovely experience, the food delicious and the salt and pepper squid is great. Difficult to park but we will certainly be back. A really great place to eat with friendly service
Fabulous food, service and ambience. Would definitely recommend!
The food was very nice, but the place was a little let down by the overall service. As we entered the door we were met by the landlord shouting around his staff to find out who had taken a booking for a couple who were ahead of us - all seemed really unprofessional. Then they say us next to the kitchen and walk through corridor, not really safe given the circumstances. Lastly 2 attractive ladies arrived after us for a meal, and the landlord seemed to pay extra attention to them - I wonder why....
With the eat out to help out scheme
