    A wonderful little gem! First booking at The Nest and it did not disappoint. Even on the most miserable afternoon the views were great and the bar and seating area is quirky and cozy. We arrived nearly 30 minutes before our booking and were seated immediately. Brilliant seasonal cocktails and friendly attentive staff.

    I recently took my wife to The Nest for her birthday, and what should have been a special evening was unfortunately ruined by an astonishing lack of basic hospitality and professionalism. We were 15 minutes late, which I fully appreciate is not ideal. However, on arrival, the host’s response was, “So good of you to show up.” The comment was unnecessarily sarcastic and incredibly inappropriate, particularly when welcoming guests who were there to celebrate a special occasion. We were then shown to a table right by the entrance. I had specifically called ahead to request a good table for my wife’s birthday, so I went to speak to the staff and explain this. Rather than handling the situation professionally, I was told, rudely, that they had given our original table away. At that point, the experience had already left such a bad impression that we decided not to spend the evening somewhere we clearly weren’t wanted. We sat down briefly, made a reservation at SushiSamba, and left. The contrast could not have been greater. SushiSamba delivered the warm, attentive and professional service we have come to expect, and the evening was turned around completely. The Nest, on the other hand, managed to make what should have been a memorable birthday feel thoroughly unwelcome. Being 15 minutes late does not justify speaking to customers in that manner, particularly when there was a simple opportunity to handle the situation with courtesy and professionalism. Very disappointing, and needless to say, we will not be returning.

    We made a booking in advance for my birthday, but upon arrival the restaurant was unable to locate it. Thankfully, this was quickly resolved once I showed the confirmation email, and we were seated without any further issues. Unfortunately, the service throughout our visit was disappointing. The gentleman who greeted us appeared overwhelmed and was not particularly welcoming. We were seated at 1:50pm, but no one came to take our order until 2:10pm. The same gentleman who greeted us eventually took our order, and while polite enough, he did not seem particularly cheerful or engaged. Our food arrived before our drinks, and we then waited a further five minutes for the drinks to be brought over. While this may not seem significant, it added to the overall impression that service was disorganised and lacking attention. To be fair, the food itself was actually quite good and we enjoyed our meal. However, the quality of the food did not make up for the poor service experience. It also appeared that most of the staff were spending their time in the kitchen and were largely absent from the dining area. We also witnessed several customers leave looking visibly unhappy, seemingly due to the slow service. As this was meant to be a birthday meal with my partner, it was particularly disappointing. While I appreciate that restaurants can get busy, the lack of attentiveness and overall customer service took away from what should have been an enjoyable occasion. Overall, while the food was enjoyable, the service let the restaurant down significantly. Unfortunately, it was not the birthday experience I had hoped for, and based on this visit, I would be hesitant to return.

    Staff were so miserable. Had to wait ages for services. Asked for the service to be removed and manager literally through the bill at me. Wouldn’t bother going again. The girl on the front desk at the nest was really friendly but the manager had to the worst attitude.
