A little overpriced for the small portions. We ordered 3 fish and chips and one steak only the chips with steak was hot all the other portions of chips were cold. Not ideal for the money your paying.
It was a very nice meal. Felt very full. The only thing we found that it wasn’t very warm in the room we ate in. We would most definitely be going back.
We have to say it was AMAZING one of the best meals we have had in a long time, my hubby is a veggie and he said it was the best meal he has had in ages. So that is compliments to the chef
Good to have a great local pub with good food definitely visit again
It is a beautiful place, a joy to be in. Very well kept and clean.
Food is outstanding.
I can’t wait to go again
Excellent attentive service, good quality food, despite a relatively small choice (understandable given the circumstances).
Thoroughly recommend
Sharing breads with the hummus, tapenade was outstanding.
We both had roast sirloin of beef as Sunday roast choice
Vegetables were lovely and plentiful.
Gravy was glorious shiny and rich
Beef was hard to cut and a thick sinew running through the middle
Could have been knives blunt but felt almost needed a steak knife to cut
The restaurant area was very cold and draughty
We really like to support our local businesses and can only imagine how difficult it is for them in these crazy times
Sunday Roast beef at £17.00 per head is top end prices so food all needed to be excellent
As previously stated some parts of the food was glorious but not sure if l could fully recommend the Moorfields
Needed to be honest
What a fabulous Sunday lunch ! The food was incredible both the meat and veggie options . Large portions and beautifully presented .
We were in the marquee and unfortunately there wasn't anything to help make it atmospheric, not a tree or music. We weren't told it would be a reduced menu for eating out there. I had booked at the beginning of November was our work do, while I appreciate all the struggles and difficulties, this isn't a cheap place and I feel a little more effort would go along way.
Great service and delicious food. Some noisy tables around us and a bit of a banging soundtrack, but overall I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this lovely pub!
A good lunch with a man who gave me my first freelance gig
The Sunday roast was fantastic. The roast beef was very well cooked and not over done like it often can be. Crispy roast potatoes and a gigantic Yorkshire pudding. The veg was all cooked to perfection with a nice bite to it. Nothing worse than over cooked veg. Totally faultless and the portion was huge. It won’t be the cheapest meal you’ll ever have but it was value for money. I guess like all things, you get what you pay for.
Great service from all staff members too. 👍👍👍
Excellent Sunday lunch, good portion size and delicious meat. Unfortunately the room was so cold most of us kept our coats on!
Really good pub, food was great, couldn't fault it, server was very attentive and chatty. The only negative was they ran out of the 2 best desserts at 2pm 🤔so didn't have one
Lovely Sunday lunch although was a little chilly as the heating was not working.
Great food, Service. Unfortunately the heating wasn’t working but this didn’t take away from our enjoyment. Can’t wait for restrictions to be lifted so we can enjoy the moorfields even more
Great Sunday roast!
Plenty of space to be able to relax but still a good atmosphere. We went for a family meal. We had steak, fish and chips and nachos and it was all good. Would recommend
A great meal, great service. Very attentive to me and my family!! My twin boys loved itv
Food took over an hour, lack of service from staff and food very average. Felt very disappointed.
Lovely meal and felt very 'safe', noticeable that despite it being a Friday night it was pretty quiet.
Amazing food and service l, can’t wait to go back
The service was friendly but not over the top and the food was presented well and tasted delicious.
They have done an amazing job of renovating this beautiful building, it looks stunning. Food was delicious and service was great!
Great service, wonderful food, beautiful decor. A lovely family meal out out.
Beautifully decorated pub for christmas. Food excellent if a bit pricey. The service was friendly. Quite empty at lunch time due to covid though.
Good pub food, nice surroundings, good beer and wine. A bit odd with the Covid restrictions though and we'll look forward to future visits when things are back to normal
Great new pub, lovely staff and fantastic food (though a little on the expensive side)
Great food, really nice atmosphere. friendly staff and no need to drive!
The veg could of been a little warmer but on the whole very good
Amazing food and ambience. It was our first visit to the pub since the opening and I can tell now we will be going often. Service is amazing and the food was delicious!
Food here is delicious and service before has been fine but this time they served our drinks and forgot to come back for our food order. Tables around us who’d arrived later got their food first. We had to shout down the waitress to take our order and the guy sent to the table didn’t apologise rather pointed out food came out only 45 mins after we had placed our order which wasn’t the point. Aside from that food was lovely when it came.
Great food, friendly and helpful service. Only thing lacking was some people to fill it with noise and atmosphere.
Very good food, thouroughly enjoyed the meal. Pricing was as you would expect, not too pricey, but not a bargain either.
Hard to rate atmosphere due to current covid restricions etc, however it is a very different feel to the old Moorfields. Doesn't seem to have much character any more, but if you're after a nice gastro-pub you can't go wrong.
Lovely revamp of a tired looking pub!! Service was a bit slow but they are still finding their feet having just opened before November lockdown, then closing and now just 2 days into Tier 2. The staff were friendly, atmosphere good, music at just the right level. We had a selection of 3 of the bar bites to start, which were ok, but nothing special. I had the veg curry, husband had the turkey Christmas Dinner, my late-teenage boys had chicken Kiev and beefburger; all were good. The kids had sticky toffee pudding for dessert, which was divine (I had a spoonful!). Husband and I had cocktails for dessert, mine being the S'moors martini - heavenly mix of chocolate, marshmallow and alcohol 🍸 Bottles of wine reasonably priced too. All in all, it was a good night at mid-range price point. I definitely recommend and will be going back as it is local to me.
These are very strange times and it is fantastic that The Moorfields is open again. Some comments based on our evening out on Friday 4th December. The refurbishment of the pub is excellent and high quality- I remember how it was before. It all looked very festive with tasteful Christmas decorations. The staff were first class and really looked after us. The menu was varied and represented good value. The quality of the food was excellent with good sized portions.
However....whilst we know how important it is for the pub to have outside covered space for customers to meet with friends, it makes the bar area cool , almost uncomfortable. Maybe we were unlucky but the breeze was annoying. We also found the LED over table lights very bright and I wished I had taken my sun glasses. We asked for them to be dimmed but I don’t think that was possible.
Overall a great additional asset for Oldfield Park and we will be regular customers.
We had our second visit to The Moorfields on Friday.
Yet again the food was fantastic and service was very good.
This restaurant had also thought long and hard about keeping customers and staff save in these unusual times. Well done.
Excellent service as always
great food
Staff on the ball with service and politeness
The best Christmas turkey meal I have ever eaten! Such good value. Christmas pudding was lovely too.
Good food, great service and nice atmosphere, they have adapted well to the current restrictions.
