The Meeting House
Christina was our server - very pleasant and accommodating. I had the 4 cheese fondue and a beet salad. My husband had the French onion soup and the lobster grilled cheese sandwich. Both meals were very good. We were there for lunch
The food here can be hit or miss. A person in my group had ordered a salad she had ordered previously and it was better than the first two times. I love the burrata salad. Server was nice. Over all the night was a success.
The place is very nice, food is good, drinks are good. Tonight the music was very good, but too loud to carry on a conversation. Last weeks music was also good, but the volume was lower which made it easier to converse with the people you came with. Tonight I could not hear my companions talk. Consider turning the volume down a little next week.
A birthday gathering of friends. Waitress was fabulous, even though she was quite busy. Food delicious. Atmosphere wonderful.
Great food and service.
Loved the detail of long stem roses for the ladies
Our waitress was very attentive and cheerful. Love the Brussels sprouts and fried oysters for appetizers. The entries are a generous size and always delicious. AND the bartenders know their stuff.
I made reservations for a birthday celebration for my 86 year old mom.
no acknowledgement was made to mom or wish her a happy birthday, I thought server did not hear me. she was too busy getting everyone drink order.
Most ordered breakfast. I orders the waffle supreme. I would have thought they would bring the maple syrup with the plate. No she had to go get it. By the time she came back the waffle was cold and hard. Also I ordered a side of sausage. but when my waffle came there was bacon AND sausage. No where on the menu did it mention it came with sausage. I would NOT have ordered a side of sausage.
This was my 2nd visit. The first was great, the server attentive, pleasant and the meal did not take long. This time was a disappointment.
My first dinner at the Meeting HOuse, we order the calamari appetizer which was very good. My son ordered the shrimp cappelini and I ordered the sea bass (the most expensive item). The shrimp cappelini was okay; it was like someone took cream and a lot of cajun seasoning and mixed it together. Their really wasn't much depth of flavor. My sea bass was undercooked and a bit tough, and the risotto was a bit undercooked as well. (I microwaved the left overs the next day and the sea bass was perfect and flakey, but it should have come out that way.) The entree was $32 that meal should have come out perfect for that price point. I will try it again, but won't order the same items.
The eggplant stack was very tasty. Fish was excellent. I suggest serving the fish on a plate and not a basket. Its very hard to eat that way. Was a great overall experience
We went on Monday night for their Monday burger and brew special. We arrived at 7 p.m. and the place was very quiet, unlike the busy times we have been there.(which was a welcome change since it was quite noisy when crowded). The burgers were done as ordered, medium rare, and were very good. Most of the brews on tap are IPA's but we opted for a cream porter and a red ale and both were good. The $10 special was well worth it.
We all enjoyed our meals. Appetizers were also good though the calamari should have been cooked a little more. Our server was quite attentive and we love the bar seating and ambience.
Most of the food was excellent: basil gin drink, caesar, brocollini; The oysters (fried) were outstanding! The fish & chips not so much - fish was mushy. We should have said something, but didn't.
Also, caesar came out with dressing on the side - that's a really hard salad dressing to mix in at the table. Sent it back, came out perfect then. Also, (maybe because we sent the salad back) the dinner came too soon, so we had them hold it in the kitchen. Maybe that's why the fish was mushy.
Your chef, in general, does an excellent job, and we will be back. Our waitress was pleasant and attentive.
NYE - first dining experience at ‘The Meeting House’.
Our server was fabulous and felt horrible she had tables in multiple sections.
Started off with a cocktail and oyster on a half shell. Oysters were okay could have been seasonal, could have done without the garnish.
Ordered the calamari with sweet and sour on the side. Could tell it was hand breaded as it’s crumbled. Was very good.
We ordered a bottle of wine with diner. Dinner was the Surf and Turf special. The filet was mouth watering. The Lobster mash was to die for. I can’t imagine mash potatoes without lobster.
Looking forward to visiting again.
Delicious and a great way to spend New Years Eve! One of our drinks was made perfectly. The other was not strong enough (too much ice). Also recommend including some stronger craft beers in your beer list. Service was fabulous. Will be back.
Food and portion size was excellent, service was mediocre, noise level was pretty loud. Even when we were the last ones in the dining room, the noise spilled over from the crowded bar area. But generally a great addition to the western MA dining scene.
Waitress was preoccupied, short staffed and the price of meals did not equate to the quality of the meal. I had the lobster Mac and cheese for $25 and I’ve done better with Mach and cheese from a box for my grandkids. My wife ordered a simple mushroom sandwich and it arrived 5 minutes after my Mac and cheese, did I forget the lobster? No the chef must have. No apologies, nothing off the menu for the inconvenience, my business will go elsewhere in the future (and I’ll let friends know also).
Love this place, and so do many others. Packed house & very loud. Difficult for six at our table to converse so all could hear. Lunch is quieter, so if you're looking for a nice visit with friends over a great meal, lunch is the better choice.
We had a great time, exceptional service and the meal was fantastic. Tempura Asparagus is a must have.
Over all fair. But for the price was expecting a little more attention. Never got rollls or oil at the beginning of the meal like another table was given. The front doors were left open so they cold air was rushing in. I had made a reservation for a low top table instead of high chairs but they still tried to seat us and a high top table. Then they tried to seat us and a 2 person table right outside the serving area. Over all not that impressed.
We have been there twice and have had delicious food and drinks. The pumpkin ravioli with scallops is my favorite! Prices are very reasonable too.
Our first time here. Food and service was great! We will definitely be back.
The server was so helpful! I asked for broccolini instead of fries, but both came when the food came, the server was super gracious about it. And she even chased me down when I forgot my takeout container.
Slow first contact by waiter. 10 minutes before drink order was taken then 10 minutes before drinks arrived. Food was timely and good for 3 out of 4, however my wife's salmon was under cooked.
I ordered the Pumpkin Ravioli and it was delicious. My husband ordered the Hangar steak which was also very good. Pricing was very fair and service was also very good. Will definitely return.
Good food, great service--our server was super friendly. She says she usually works at the bar, but was serving and she was so nice, so efficient. Sorry, don't remember her name! Our only criticism is that it is way too loud. We were in a booth and had to practically yell at the other couple to have a conversation. Restaurants like this need some type of fabric or noise blockers somewhere!
Wonderful place to eat!
We had a table of 8 and absolutely ALL the dishes came out perfect.
VERY SLOW service from the bar!!! 20 minute wait for drinks twice!!!! Need another bar tender! Your loosing $$$$$$ with such slow service!
Very good restaurant. Enjoyed our time.
The Meeting House is a great addition to the Longmeadow/Springfield restaurant scene. We have been several times now, and enjoy the excellent menu selections, prompt and attentive service, and the quiet ambience. The new outdoor terrace is great - enjoy it while the weather permits!
12:15 on a very warm afternoon so I hadn't brought a sweater. Air conditioning was turned up too high; temp in room was about 68 degrees--too cold to enjoy my meal. I asked the waitress if the air conditioning could be turned down and she said of course, but the room remained chilly.
Otherwise, my friend and I liked the ambiance. Why not choose calmer music, though? It's hard to digest to lively music.
First time here. It was very good. Limited menu but very tasty. Ambiance is very nice. Service was outstanding.
Finally. It wasn’t a frigid zone in there! Temperature was moderate. Server was very attentive and food was creative. They weren’t out of my beer choice. All in all the kind of visit I’ve been waiting for.
This was my second time there and will definitely go back. Great place, great food. Would recommend it to anyone.
The meeting house is a nice place for a meal. the prices are very appropriate and the apps are delish, the Beer cheese giant pretzels was awesome ! I’d recommend for lunch.
Empty for a Saturday night, but server was good and bottle
Of wine was reasonably priced. Thanks!
Calamari is AMAZING!! Loved the blueberry salad. The Moscow Mule, however, was NOT good. Tasted like WAY too much vodka and flat ginger beer
Waitress was never around had to keep flagging her over when we would see her. Pretzel was over cooked. Some of the other food was over done. Owner kept going by and never asked how things where but did take our plates which the waitress should have been doing. The waitress was using her phone to take picture of what I Don't know. The place has really nice decor but chef and wait staff need help. I would like to go back but not sure it will be good.
Loved the atmosphere and the food was good. The fish (fish and chips) was a little greasy but tasty. The swordfish was cooked perfectly, but the arugula was a bit bitter. The dessert (chocolate monkey) was AMAZING. They have a wide selection of craft beer, but essentially only IPAs.
Sampled 4 apps, Turkey meatballs, crab cakes, meat and cheese board, short rib tacos. All delicious and good sized.
