The decor of this establishment consists of many architectural elements, that indicate the intense labour of love that went into creating a unique space that offers both a urban sanctuary and romantic industrial feel where guests can relax in a sexy garden oasis.
Allow our host to find you a cosy table and settle in with the extensive cocktail list, packed with a plethora of delicious options. "Call me a Sex Object" is highly recommended.
It’s a venue restaurant- you get lost in a small group but will be divine as party venue
The menu when we arrived was different to what we viewed online and missing a number of options that were either removed or “only available from 3pm?”
The pop music was blaring on a Sunday lunch time with very little customers.
The waitresses comment was “I’ve never heard of that beer” when my husband ordered a drink from the menu.
The waitress collected our plates by piling them up on the table in front of us & then claiming “no I will need to come back” when the pile was too high.
The venue lacked ambience & did not impress.
The service on Friday night for our table was lacking. We constantly had to try and get the waiters attention to get a drink. We arrived at 7. Our meals took so long that the kitchen was closed when we wanted to order coffee and dessert. We would have ordered at least two more bottles of wine, dessert and coffee but were not able to due to lack of attention.
Lovely surroundings and great set up. The service was very prompt and attentive and the restaurant itself was beautiful.
Fabulous place! We had such a lovely dinner and beautiful cocktails. We will definitely be back!
Average menu, terrible service (the table wasn’t even provided with menus each and staff didn’t offer dessert after the meal), bored wait staff standing around staring at customers and gossiping ... it all added up to a very uncomfortable night. We had such high hopes for this restaurant but it was extremely disappointing.
What a wow venue for Brisbane! something unique, quirky and almost unexpected. We dined on a Tuesday night so it was a little quieter which meant we got the opportunity to chat to the owners about the concept, design and their plans! Looking forward to visiting again as this becomes Brisbane's newest must see venue.
Absolutely stunning. Everything from the atmosphere, to the service and the delicious meals. All absolutely stunning. Will certainly be back.
Great food, great vibe, I will definitely be a breakfast regular.
I had my birthday drinks at The Matriach in Newstead and I couldn't have asked for a better night! The cocktails were AMAZING, we only planned on having one each (as it was a Monday) but we ended up wanting to try them all! The space is just so beautiful, the service was perfect. Ill absolutely be back.
Excellent service, friendly & attentive staff in a beautiful setting. Truly, a lovely experience! We will be back for both the High Tea and brunch/coffee menus.
It was really nice and very reasonable. We absolutely enjoyed it
The food was absolutely fantastic! Exceptional service!
Noise levels were pretty high, but nothing you can really do about it- such a great popular place.
I’d love to see some Israeli wine on the wine list!
My maun criticism would be that the menu isn't true to what is and is not gluten free. I only discovered this after ordering and was not convinced upon getting the answer, that the staff were aware of the seriousness of the issue.
Unfortunately when we went they didn’t have their drinks license so our view is this: as an event space it would b fabulous ie wedding, 21st etc. As a bar with the lights dimmed in the back space and some music it would b pretty nice. The front area is a really lovely space to sit but the food was really only mediocre and not cheap. Share plates for 4 people (minus still & sparkling water at $12) came to $175. We felt we could have had a really good restaurant meal for that price.
