The Lucky Duck
Food takes center stage across the three upstairs floors, with a dinner and bar bites menu led by quality, seasonal ingredients. Head Chef Jan Bartek celebrates Irish fare with a modern twist.
Open from 5pm seven nights a week, why not join us for dinner and drinks, or just drinks – the choice is yours.
The Lucky Duck’s cocktail menu is centred around great produce, bold flavours and simplicity. We aim to produce drinks that sustainably minded, less waste and more taste. If it’s a straight-up drink you’re after, we have plenty of those, too.
We are proud to have revived this Dublin landmark and look forward to welcoming you!
Such a wonderful spot for nice cocktails and a civilised, relaxed evening. Staff are wonderful and always make sure you’re okay and not left waiting.
Lovely atmosphere. Unusual looking menu but the food was all very delicious and well presented. Really enjoyed our night out there and would recommend it.
Great service, very accomodating. I will definitely be back with friends
A delightful building, warm and attentive service, and incredible food. A terrific place for drinks and dinner.
Great experience, lovely server and beautiful food
Steak was pretty tough and we mentioned it and waiter said oh that's a pity! and that was it.
Food wasn't great wouldnt return. Mains came a while before sides so half the main was eaten already.
We went to the Lucky Duck for my son's 21st birthday. It was wonderful. The staff, the food, the cocktails and the ambience made for an absolutely fabulous evening. Patrick was the font of all knowledge telling us the origins of dishes and the cocktails. He was able to tell us how they were made and suggested pairings with our food (which definitely worked). My only regret is that I don't possess two stomachs so I could eat absolutely everything! I am a veggie and my food was divine - a limited menu but I got the impression that if I asked for anything they would do their best to provide. My sons had the lamb shank and they couldn't speak highly enough of it. I would highly recommend going to the Lucky Duck. We will definitely be going back.
The place is lovely but the food and service could definitely have been better
Service really let the place down. Waited so long between starter and main course. Food was nice apart from the potted crab starter but service was worst we have experienced in a long time.
We took our boys
Menu has a nice selection of food that offers an interesting take on traditional favourites. Trendy & comfortable surroundings - don’t be put off by fact seating & tables seem more suited to lounging than eating, they work for some reason (maybe that seat to table height ratio is just right?)
Dealt with our food intolerance issue with respect, understanding & intelligence: remarkable as issues with allium (onion, garlic etc.) less widely acknowledged than most.
Great service & atmosphere. Set to become one of our favourite places to take friends & family in Dublin.
Disappointing second visit overall - the atmosphere was poor, too bright, no music. Service was poor. Overall food and wine were good but lacked ambience in the room we were in.
Lovely restaurant, great food and service. The room we were in was for 6 and we were a party of 4 so we were sharing with 2 others would have preferred to be in the main room. Only put parties of 6 should be in the small room. Also, it was quite cold throughout the building lovely fireplaces might have been nice if they had been lit, for ambiance and heat but overall I would recommend.
Nice ambience and great staff. Food mediocre. Tables very close together on second floor
Intimate and lush. Beautiful food. Would go again.
Fire the chef. Everything else was good to great.
Don’t usually write reviews, but this warrants it.
Valentine’s Day. Beautiful cosy v classy and beautifully decorated living-room-vibe room upstairs. Really beautiful design. Maybe 5 tables in the room. Chairs were some of the nicest I’ve sat on in a restaurant. We were a group of four (double date), and in fairness we were v boisterous and excited to see each other so I’d say the other dates weren’t v happy with us. We had a lot of drinks over the course of the evening and had a great laugh.
Drinks were good. Service was friendly and knowledgeable but fairly slow (we were there from 7:30 until about 11:30). It was 42euro pp for a “5 course meal” - 3 courses plus tea/coffee and petit fours to finish.
The chicken liver pate was basically dumped on a single slice of brioche toast that was undercooked. Virtually no garnish. Venison Wellington was lukewarm and pastry was still moist, not fluffy or crisp. Mash that came with it was cold. I had one cut, my brother got two. My partner and his partner had fish wrapped in paper. V small portions. Potatoes were ‘roasted’, but burned on the outside and raw on the inside. Dessert was good (cheesecake and chocolate tart).
Never offered the tea or coffee. When the bill came there were baileys chocolates accompanying it. I asked about the petit fours and the server said the chocolates were them.
We were having such a great time seeing each other we didn’t complain or anything and had a good laugh about it. But the food truly was terribly done - seemed like a menu designed by someone who knew what they were doing who then quit and left it to someone who had maybe cooked for a dinner party once and got promoted to head chef last minute.
A lovely spot. Relaxed but special at the same time. Great food and cocktails. Staff were great.
Muy buena experiencia en general, nos gusto mucho el sitio, el ambiente y los cocktails. El servicio muy bueno y la comida nada del otro mundo. Pero la experiencia general muy buena
Our booking was cancelled by the manager only when we arrived as they said they were booked out.
Really enjoyable meal with excellent service. The espresso martini wasn't on the menu but bar staff made it on request. Really nice decor and staff seemed to be enjoying their work. Very high quality food. I'd never had polenta before but it was very tasty and complimented the cod very well. Have already recommended the restaurant to a friend.
The service and the venue itself is very good, great atmosphere. The food was bad value the taste plates in particular the fish plate very small. Both the cheese and meet plate very tiny!
Everything was very good but i was cold in the upper dining room
I had to wear my coat - this is a major drawback for me
Food was very nice and service very good
I will definitely go again but on a warmer day or in the summer
Fantastic job done on the restoration of the building - each floor is decorated differently and the end result is wonderful. The ground floor is a regular bar but each other floor is small and intimate. Going here feels like a real treat. Enjoyed the food and cocktails and the staff were very nice.
Christmas Eve dinner. The staff was amazing and the food was top notch. I would go back in a heart beat.
Food and staff where amazing. Beautiful venue. Just a little pricey.
Really lovely meal, with great service and complimentary cocktail. Good atmosphere too - would recommend for a girls night out.
A really nice night
We were having dinner as a small group Christmas party, we had a lovely room to ourselves. Our waitress was the right level of friendly & had great recommendations. Food was varied & delicious, those beef cheek croquettes were really yum. Cocktails to polish off dinner. Courses were well timed, & we felt we had all the time in the world to enjoy dinner & drinks. Great bar downstairs with excellent service. Overall had a very relaxed evening in the lucky duck.
Really enjoyable dinner. Lovely room with nice atmosphere. Starters were good and had gorgeous duck, ordered sides also shared a dessert. Staff were all really friendly and would we definitely return.
Lovely meal at the lucky duck. Despite a two hour time limit on the table, they arranged for us to have the table a lot longer. Really enjoyed our evening
Waitress was incredibly inattentive for an unfilled restaurant. Food was okay, but came up to me cold. Had to re-order my wine from the bartender because my waitress repeatedly forgot. Beautiful space with amateur staff.
Main disappointment - my dining partner had a prime steak and was very disappointed with the amount of fat. She left nearly half of it on the plate as it was 'fat'. And for €27 or whatever it was - that's not the standard you'd expect.
The food was delicious. I had the steak and it was very juicy and had lovely taste with the garlic butter. For starters myself and my girlfriend ordered one portion of the croquettes to share, as we didn't want to get too full. What was listed as "croquettes" was just one single croquette ball, which was disappointing, but can't fault the quality of it. Fix the plural typo or have more than one served on the plate would be my recommendation.
The area we were put in had tables specifically for two people per table, but we had hoped to be in by one of the bar areas for more light and ambiance as we had already sat in this area for drinks on a night. It wasn't an issue, but it's very quiet, especially when other people are sat in the area and you can all hear every bit of each other's conversation. There was some very fussy diners two tables over and we felt awkward listening to every single food allergy and issue they had before they had even looked at the menu. No fault of the restaurant again, but a little bit more music in those areas might help.
nice atmosphere and rooms, but the food is pretty average and the service is hit and miss - for the prices they charge i wouldn't be inclined to return to be honest
I love this bar, really cosy & friendly. Last Friday I had dinner upstairs. It was very relaxing, the staff were friendly, & the food & cocktails were great.
The food was lovely and the décor was really nice, it was lovely for a catch up with friends but not if you're looking for something more lively. The service wasn't great, they tried to lift our plates away twice while we were eating and also lifted my friends drink away before she was finished, surely it's courtesy to ask if she was finished first. We ordered Gin and Tonics which were pricey enough but they were just served in regular glasses with a slice of lemon, no fancy gin glasses or anything!!!! Very underwhelming.
Considering it is a very limited menu, I expected a much higher standard. Between the four of us we had one duck, one chicken and two steaks, none of which were to a high standard, duck and steak chewy and chicken dry and way too much kale. Sides two champ both dry and one green veg, smothered in kale and one sweet potato which was soggy, the one starter of mussels were very good. At over 160 euro not good value at all.
Very good food and service. The cocktail bar on each level means service is almost immediate and excellent.
The menu is short and sweet but quality is the end prize. Wine a bit on the expensive side. Would definitely go back again,
