Fantastic experience all round. Could not fault it!
It was strange to make a booking for dinner and to be seated at the lounge opposed to the restaurant especially when we indicated it was our anniversary. When we asked we were able to be moved however it was a bit of a weird experience. The food was average when compared to Cambridge. Service in the restaurant was very good.
Always delivers. The produce is top quality, the drinks are great, the ambience is also reliably relaxed.
Excellent food, table service very good & attentive. Good choice of wines, although mostly Frogmore (which are very good).
Our only disappointment was the lack of choice on the menu.
The food was delicious and beautifully presented
From the moment we arrived we were treated like vips and given an amazing table with veiw and the wine and food was amazing. Location beautiful, and service so friendly. Best oysters we have ever had! Highly recommend. We will be back and bring others.
Lovely staff & ambience. Very small menu to choose from, but what we ate was lovely.
Food and atmosphere was great. The staff did not provide the specials list at time of ordering however accommodated a very last moment change of order to when the specials menu was obtained. Staff were very friendly but knew very little about the source of the food being served beyond just from being in Tasmania.
Brilliant experience all round. Was a great way to spend my wife's birthday!
The menu was limited and it was quite cold inside the restaurant with little ambiance. However the staff were friendly and helpful but we were just a bit underwhelmed by the menu.
Our mains came out before our starters had been cleared. It isn’t the end of the world, but it’s a pretty basic error for somewhere that is targeting the more expensive end of the market.
Lack of vegetarian options. Cheese plate was far too expensive for what was on it. Took a long time for mains to arrive. Service was great though. Very attentive.
Was expecting a more ‘fine dining’ experience. The tables weren’t set, our pre-dinner cocktails arrived after our mains, water glasses took too long to be filled up, we had to ask for wine, and a different waiter brought us our food - so didn’t know who ordered what.
Otherwise, the food was delicious. Catered for gluten free well, but with main ingredients removed.
Limited veg options. All desserts contain alcohol and request for variation refused (I’m allergic) and main meal took 90 minutes to arrive after the entree. Ate at nearby Old Wharf the following day and it was the complete opposite.
Lovely setting, attentive staff and melt in your mouth food, great experience
Disappointing. We went for xmas eve. No decorations in the whole restaurant. We had a 4:30 reservation for dinner because there was nothing else available at all (per open table anyway). When we left at 7:30, only two other tables of 15 were used. For the first 1 hour 15 minutes, we were by ourselves. We would have chosen to eat at 6 or 7, NOT 4:30!
No place setting on tables, they brought us what we needed only as we had the food. The kids had mocktails- soda water+ cordial= $12 each! Come on!
Food was fine-- fish, beef, mussels, cheeseboard. Portions were Ok. Not tiny, but not huge.
We had hoped for a better experience.
Lovely night. perfect lead unto Xmas. We had a beautiful meal and enjoyed very much looking out over the harbour and the city.
Highly recommended - great food and service - lovely outlook and ambiance.
Loved the venue but it was difficult when we asked for an outside table. There was no one outside and hardly anyone inside in the area we we seated. I was told we could not go back inside if we changed our mind, which was fine. Then the same waitress came over again and warned us that if it rained or was windy we would need to leave. It was a beautiful afternoon! Guy at the desk was rude to us when paying. Very arrogant and dismissive. Very disappointing.
Good friendly service and ambiance
The food was great but not enough variety on the menu. We had a great time.
The service was ok, we waited too long between entree and main.
Can't thank the lovely staff enough. Very professional and friendly, food and drinks were delicious.
Everything was amazing, the food on the plate looked beautiful and tasted wonderful.
We had entre, main and dessert and loved it all. The service was impeccable.
Had to wait for table after booking. Chairs were too low for the height of the table. One meal was only just warm.
Fairly average food, very, very loud in the dining area— we had to yell at each other— and service was difficult to get a hold of. Hard when you need to remain seated. Wouldn’t be coming back
Always excellent service and friendly staff. Recommend to all friends and a go to on a Friday evening........
the white chocolate dessert is bit of sweet, anothers are pretty good:)
Fantastic view, exceptional service, spacious and private.
Our go-to place for dinner in Hobart. Great service, food and an excellent drinks selection.
The best service you could hope for. Friendly knowledgeable staff. Yummy food, beautiful wines, top glassware to top it off. Great location right on the harbour with mountain views and afternoon sun streaming in. Inside plush comfortable green velvet chairs to relax in and enjoy the sophisticated ambience
Amazing food, beautiful location and atmosphere. I think they forgot us for a moment as the drink service was slow to start but when we followed up the service was brilliant for the rest of the evening.
Prompt professional friendly service. Food and wine were delicious. Thanks we’ll be back.
Just the right level of attention and privacy, meal delicious and filling, dessert superb, lovely window table, very enjoyable evening. Would recommend to anyone looking for a memorable night out.
Delicious food, wonderful service, great view, surprisingly affordable and very full bellies!
A pleasant but uninspiring evening, food was well prepared and well cooked but not exciting. Having eaten at the Frogmore Creek winery restaurant on several occasions the Lounge runs a poor second. The food at the winery is innovative and makes a meal there an exciting experience. By comparison the Lounge food is very conventional.
We booked a table expecting the main room but were put the side room with zero ambiance and poor service. Our empty glasses weren’t taken away when new drinks were brought, it was like being in a pub but paying double the price
We love Frogmore but on this occasion it was very poor. The standard of food has gone down hill fast. Sirloin steak with rubber like mushroom and dry Parmesan gnocchi was terrible and tasteless. The staff are lovely which is such a shame for them. Sorry but we won’t be returning
buzzing Friday night! quick stop happy hour on way out for dinner. lovely atmosphere and waiter banter to get the evening going
Great location and inviting ambiance in a relaxed and comfortable space. Highly recommended for bringing visitors to Tasmania.
Great. Service was a fraction slow if I’m being critical but I’ve certainly experienced worse. Overall I loved it.
