A lovely night out, great views, excellent food, and awesome wine list to compliment.

None of we four diners had eaten at The Lounge by Frogmore before. What a great experience it was: delicious, well-presented, innovative meals delivered cheerfully and professionally by the attentive waiter. We were expecting a time limit of 90 minutes as per the online booking, but happily sat in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere for much longer than that.
The position of the restaurant on the waters edge was ideal and the decor was luxurious.
Menu options were not as extensive as some restaurants, and there were no vegetarian mains options. Not a problem for us diners, but perhaps the only point of (slight) criticism

At 7:30pm we arrived, thr 4 od us were looking forward to the mussels we had seen on the menu. We were lucky to nab one last serve. The oysters were not available at all. We were assured our GF member would be provided for, sadly the GF bread arrived 50 mins after we had finished the mussels. The only salad was an $18 Tomato Salad which was miniscule - I doubt it contained a whole tomato. Service was slow, we waited 50 minutes for our food.
Overall, while food was well cooked, well flavoured and well presented - there was a severe lack of generosity. Service was very poor tho attitudes were good. Dietary restrictions are not recognised - the menu offers no help at all. There’s something wrong here - the staff were willing but inept, the food was good tho not excellent. The restaurant did not deliver the effortless experience we were hoping for.

This was our 3rd restaurant for the night, our progressive date night. This was the best out of the three restaurants the service was excellent and the dessert 🍨 was yum.

The food was delicious, the service great and the food was amazing. I had the market fish and the spicy lentil Dahl was amazing. My husband had the beef sirloin, which was cooked to perfection, if it was served with a little bit more sauce it would be better than top notch 👌😉

We went here for our anniversary lunch and we were treated with absolutely beautiful service, thoughtful touches and delicious food in a relaxing atmosphere. It was a very special day for us and we appreciated the restaurant going above and beyond to make it extra beautiful!

A lovely spot to enjoy a cocktail & snacks. Have to recommend the Riesling too!

Very enjoyable evening with friends. Wonderful wait staff. Very informative and friendly. Food was delicious ,great wine menu, comfortable seating and lovely ambiance.

I would consider the food to be average, the wine was good and the ambience ok. Even though there was only two of us we were seated at a large table in the back of the restaurant which made it difficult to have a conversation due to the noise.

Great place for a special occasion. Limited menu options but still ample choice. Good sized portions. Classy dishes without being pretentious and mean!

Food service and the wine was sublime. The view (location) can’t be beat.
Only point I’d make is the choice of beers. I couldn’t drink them but the wine was great. Top night there.

The wine was great, I had the duck and that was quite tasty. My partner had the beef which she thought wasn’t as nice. Overall was a nice experience

Excellent food, limited choice of wine brands which seems to be the norm for winery restaurants. This was offset by the very knowledgeable staff member who really knew her stuff. Only disappointment was the push to get one out the door at the conclusion of an otherwise great evening. Great small selection of mains wonderful in simplicity and flavours.

Lovely place for a special night out or a date to impress. We were seated at big lounges with a table in the middle. Not the most comfortable way to eat TBH and next time we go we’ll ask for a normal table and chairs. First-class ambience and service, wonderful cocktails and inventive dishes.

The service was amazing - friendly and welcoming and the food was spectacular. The mussels and the steak we had were probably the best we have ever had. We are already talking about another visit and i can't wait.

We had a great time. We were anticipating for something special as we were asked in the booking form. However, there was nothing above and beyond their usual, great service. I didn't get the point of that section in the booking form if it was not to be looked upon. Regardless, the service and ambience was great!

Staff, service and ambience is excellent. Food, we started with the olives and bread followed by the antipasto, duck and pork. The antipasto was “yum”. The duck was very good albeit on the small side. The pork was also very good but almost cold. The wines excellent. Overall, a bit on the expensive side.

Lovely venue, very good service, however, food was a little ho hum. The limited menu sounded delicious and something for everyone, however, the food lacked oomph and something special that you would hope for in a venue like this.

It was strange to make a booking for dinner and to be seated at the lounge opposed to the restaurant especially when we indicated it was our anniversary. When we asked we were able to be moved however it was a bit of a weird experience. The food was average when compared to Cambridge. Service in the restaurant was very good.

Always delivers. The produce is top quality, the drinks are great, the ambience is also reliably relaxed.

Excellent food, table service very good & attentive. Good choice of wines, although mostly Frogmore (which are very good).

From the moment we arrived we were treated like vips and given an amazing table with veiw and the wine and food was amazing. Location beautiful, and service so friendly. Best oysters we have ever had! Highly recommend. We will be back and bring others.

Lovely staff & ambience. Very small menu to choose from, but what we ate was lovely.

Food and atmosphere was great. The staff did not provide the specials list at time of ordering however accommodated a very last moment change of order to when the specials menu was obtained. Staff were very friendly but knew very little about the source of the food being served beyond just from being in Tasmania.

Brilliant experience all round. Was a great way to spend my wife's birthday!
