The Lounge at Lilianfels Blue Mountains
The Lounge Bar with a stylish mahogany bar is the perfect setting to unwind and relax with pre-dinner drinks with an extensive wine & cocktail list. Compliment your drinks with our gourmet all day dining menu, featuring tasty sharing plates such as crispy soft shell crab taco, buttermilk fried chicken sliders or the classic club sandwich and Wagyu beef burger and more.
The angus burger was delicious all-round yet perhaps a different choice of bread would be nice.
We were given a High Tea as a gift
We ate in the Lounge which was beautiful and very comfortable. We had a glass of sparkling wine which was nice . The service was good I thought the actual food content was underwhelming for the price The savoury content of the tea was nice but not adequate amount of food , and I do not eat a lot We were not offered any top up of tea or more food .
Wonderful experience with lovely friends. Yummy food and tea.
The food was really nice. I specially liked the potato-leek soup. The prices were reasonable too.
Delicious food, amazing service and great atmosphere.
As a former Melbournian and foodie, I am quite the fussy eater. The food at the lounge was impeccable! Cooked to absolute perfection. I cannot fault our dining experience here. I will definitely be back for the angus burger and chicken breast dish! Not to mention the delicious cocktails!!
The ambience was also divine; a tranquil setting and thus very relaxing.
5 star food and service in an opulent setting. Attention to detail was excellent
The food was very average, especially for the price. The whole hotel is looking sad as tired, desperately in need of a freshen up. There was a family close by with teenage kids sitting on the floor on their phones, in pyjamas which is fine but I went out to escape my own kids doing that. It’s just all a bit blah really. Truly lacklustre. Definitely not a five star experience, maybe three at a push. Social distancing was non existent.
I would highly recommend this experience. The only drawback was that during Covid and because of social distancing, our table was moved to the breakfast area instead of the lounge area which was disappointing. It didn't quite have the same feel. Other than that the food was excellent and filling, the presentation was lovely, and Jess and Sarah were highly efficient.
We were disappointed that we had to sit at a table, instead of in the lounge where we had booked.
A treat for our daughters, for taking COVID-19 school lockdown in their stride and for keeping on top of everything without us having to push them.
Cozy mood set by the two fireplaces and beautiful decor. High tea food was okay but let down by the bland savoury foods served. The Lounge was understaffed but the staff who were there did a great job. Disappointing that the crockery was standard white cafe variety - I was expecting more upmarket crockery for a high tea.
Horrible customer consideration. Wouldn’t even recommend.
drove my family all the way from Sydney to surprise my mum for her birthday. Read amazing review online, booked in advance, I was expecting a lovely high tea in ‘the lounge’, with stunning piano music playing in the background and a gorgeous view. An experience my mum would love.
Instead as We arrived we were informed that we couldn’t sit in the lounge because they were at full capacity. We instead were directed to sit at a buffet kitchen which looked much like a less than appealing casual cafe. The table wasn’t set, the sugar packets weren’t even full. It was very obvious that no consideration had been placed into our reservation.
In a state of shock we explained our long trip to the restaurants manager Jess and how we drove all that way for an experience. Her response was to brush us off, say we are eating the same food and state the other guests had booked in advance - as if we hadn’t. No effort was made to provide apologise, nothing was done to enhance your less than uncomfortable experience.
I understand and expect covid-19 regulations to be enforced. I also expect to be informed of any changes and arrangements to cater of these situations. As I informed the staff, I didn’t drive an hour and a half just to have an average high tea in a casual cafe. I would’ve taken my family to a gorgeous high tea somewhere like QVB in Sydney where customers aren’t shrugged off by rude management.
All in all the food is average, there was a hair in our food but we didn’t complain as they don’t take complains seriously.
If situations and services are altered to cater for covid-19 I think it is only fair that we are informed of these changes. I clearly booked to sit in the lounge not at a cafe. I paid their prices for the experience And service not just the food.
Wouldn’t recommend to anyone unless you book 5-6 months in advance, then maybe Jess will show some consideration toward you.
Absolutely divine high tea, I ordered gluten free and was amazed at the light, fluffy, fresh scones. I've never eaten a scone that wasn't dry before and I was hugely impressed.
Great service, fabulous high tea. Kids loved their first high tea experience.
Food was delicious, staff were friendly and helpful and cocktails were divine. A little pricey though. Wonderful ambience.
Lovely venue, staff lovely and beautiful food, there could have been just a little more with value for money, but other than that fantastic experience
It was absolutely beautiful! The service and food was all worth it.
Service was slow at times and got order mixed up but they sorted it all out.
My husband and I had high tea here. It was busy so I recommend booking in advance. The food was nice, as was the atmosphere.
The food was quite average, and the service about the same, its a nice location with tradition fittings in a nice setting. Just a shame it was not a great experience, we will not return.
Visited here for dinner and the club sandwich was stone cold and the egg grey. They used absolute vodka in a $25 cocktail. Service is slow and rude. They might think it’s 5 star but I would question it being 3 star. Spoke to other people in the pool and they felt the same. Haven’t eaten there since and stayed there for 3 nights, doubt we would even return to stay in the hotel again
I expect something better
But it’s ok!
The food wasn’t very yummy
The tea was perfect
The ambience was wonderful. The lounge is plush and comfortable. The staff are attentive, polite and efficient. We will be returning.
The best thing about high tea at Lillianfels is the setting. Great decor and well placed lounges, creating a sense of privacy. Unfortunately, the experience is let down by service which was perfunctory at best and the tea itself. Our party of 5 each had different types of tea and 4 of the 5 had almost no fragrance. Unsure whether it was the quality of the tea or it had not been properly stored in sealed containers. Also, it was disappointing to have been served tea in a very tired teapot - see photo. Overall, it was nice but I wouldn't come back again.
Thanks for the lovely high tea - it made for a lovely birthday celebration 😊
It was disappointing that the dietary requirements were asked about and then ignored. The guest of honor asked that no fish be served on her plate as she has seafood allergies, but there was still fish in all the platters on our table.
The food was brilliant and the tea was delightful. Was a shame as some of the waitstaff were not very attentive and we had to get up to ask for a couple of things after trying to gain someone's attention for over 10 minutes.
Third time I've been to Lilianfels Blue Mountains and I do not regret it.
Lovely, relaxing atmosphere. Beautiful high tea. I would definitely keep coming back
The hostess Jess was very good during our weekend stay. Piano player on Saturday afternoon was excellent. Loved the relaxing atmosphere in the lounge very warm and comfortable.
Luxurious gluten free high tea with Moët & Chandon - yes please.
Service was very average and the only enjoyable thing about the high tea was the scones.
Once the food was served the service stopped. No one came to offer a top up or another coffee. In fact I had to go and ask for my coffee as it didn’t come at all! For the price it was very disappointing.
Wonderful experience for myself and young daughters. Thanks
There was a family with 2 children that were running around and loud. More resembled a McDonalds. Food was great but have to question how this was allwed to happen. Was very poor for the price. We won't do that again and will recommend against unless you ban children that aren't in control in a posh place!!!
Love having tea at Lilianfels, gorgeous lounge and gardens. Unfortunately on this occasion the lack of service and the screaming children killed the mood a bit. Staff didn’t explain any food on the tea tower, was very difficult to get staff attention, no water top-ups, and it wasn’t a busy day. Will still go back but service needs some work. Just some attention and enthusiasm would help. James at the front desk on the other hand was amazing. He helped us with a dinner reservation, his service was exceptional!!!
Very disappointed in the high tea not a lot of food for for the cost and the service was poor, we had to remind the wait staff re our order, or coffees and also to get the bill at end.
Always a delightful place for a lovely lunch.
Gracious decor and fabulous artwork.
Very nice waitstaff.
A wonderful atmosphere and well worth booking for their top Luxurious High Tea. The food was outstanding.
Went to The Lounge for high tea, while the food was very good, the service was less than adequate which may have been due to being under staffed. It was supposed to be high tea however did not receive the tea and coffee until after the food was consumed so they served it in take away cups, considering the cost, very poor service.
Disappointed about the environment. Food was ok.
