After a twelve month renovation The Lord Nelson was restored, refurbished and reopened to the public. With the first step being to revive the original 1920's facade and the second to include the rich heritage of the pub's namesake, Admiral Horatio Lord Nelson. The design is emblematic of the great Victorian style pub and we provide an experience different to any other with food that is unparalleled with any other hotel in Geelong.

I really enjoyed my Asian salmon, but the fish and chips was too salty and the dressing too oily. So it's a mixed review

Our waiter was friendly and welcoming. He attended to our needs and often checked that we were happy with everything.
The menu had choices to please everyone. We didn't have to wait too long for our meals to arrive.
The food was tasty, although perhaps there was too much on the plate. We chose to leave most of the delicious chips, so we would have room for some dessert. The desserts were just the right size and brought the meal to a very pleasing conclusion.

Great food and service. Very noisy group nearby needed a private room, no fault of the venue. Thanks

Enjoyed dining at Lord Nelson. Food was fantastic and service was excellent, was well attended to.
If you want more of romantic setting make sure to ask to sit in green room, otherwise they have the bistro/bar area and also outdoor beer garden, for groups theres another area sectioned off. Little bit of everything to suit all.
Will definitely be back.

Meals were great value. Awesome chips. Steak was fantastic One waitress looked like she didn’t want to be there (Boxing Day)which caused a meal mix up. The other staff were fantastic and very apologetic. Would def come back again because of how they handled the issue.

2 of the 3 entrees were not ordered or delivered as entree; we had to wait for these to be delivered after we complained. The other person finished and had to wait until our entrees were delivered and consumed before they could get their main.
The curry had stale popadoms and the rice was dry.
The salmon was over cooked and the skin was tough.
Even the Parma lacked flavour and the chips had been sitting for some time before they were served.
The waiter brought the wrong drinks on the second round.
Overall it was an experience to forget; I won't be recommending the Lord nelson in Geelong to anyone I know; terrible.

My dinner for one at the Load Nelson was fabulous. Severs were very comforting and attentive. Meals I thought were on the pricey side however the Parma was massive and great cooked chips. I feel I got monies worth

Recognising it was Fathers Day, but our meal took over an hour after we ordered.

Picked the Lord Nelson for a last minute date night with my partner, just wanting some good old fashioned pub food. Service was decent, the food was okay. My medium-rare steak was more medium and quite dry, and the fish and chips my partner got were also quite dry.

All in all, standard pub fare but definitely not anything to phone home about.
