The experience was luxurious and relaxing. The service was professional and extremely knowledgeable and helpful.
A lovely experience
I’d been looking forward to high tea at The Lord Mayor’s Lounge weeks before arriving in Dublin. I made the reservation for Saturday 11:30AM a week before. When I arrived, they seated me at a table where I had a great view of the entire room, which I think is better than a view of the windows, since the window are so high it’s difficult to see St. Stephen’s Green. When you have a view of the room, you can admire the chandeliers, the ceiling moulding, the paintings on the walls, and the other people enjoying high tea. I enjoyed listening to the pianist and teas; I was able to try 5 teas in 2 hours. As I was leaving, the staff brewed me a fresh pot of my favorite tea to go and gave me the treats I did not finish in a beautiful to-go box.
We enjoyed the total experience from the service to the food to the ambiance.
Attended the shelbourne for afternoon tea recently. Brought my mum as a surprise. The service, the food, the setting, were all fantastic. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I know I will definitely go again in the future.
A fantastic all round experience - from the excellent service provided by the staff, to the general surroundings of the Lord Mayor room and finally the live piano music
My daughter and I were en route to a book launch (Miscellany 50) in which I am published. It was a fitting pre-event celebration. Everything was delightful. The pianoman's selection of music perfect. The waiting staff made us feel like honoured guests. Loved every minute
Excellent afternoon for my girlfriends birthday thankyou very much
The room, decor and service was excellent. All the tables were full but it didn't sound noisy which was really good. The food excellent, no problem if we needed to change anything. The staff were so friendly and nothing was a problem. Definitely recommend to my friends ( have already ) Really lovely experience thank you.
Well all I can say what a fantastic day I had for my wife's birthday beautiful place great atmosphere and as for the service it was outstanding. Our waiter thomas was excellent very funny engaging and was a pleasant funny guy carried out his duties to the fullest and made our day that extra bit special so I'd like to say a big thank you to him for that.
Amazing service and food as always at the Shelbourne!
My friend and I ended our first trip to Ireland with tea at The Shelbourne-perfect! Everything was delightful! We spent the first hour reminiscing about our visit while enjoying tea and goodies and the second hour making friends with two lovely ladies from Dublin! Highly recommend!
Had high tea.
I have taken to comparing teas while I travel. Been to most of the known “musts” around the world. This experience fired (excelled) on all cylinders. People even still dress for tea. An 11 out of 10. Thank you!
A lovely afternoon filled with many yummy treats and countless cups of tea! So fun to try them all! A special treat indeed!
Wonderful experience, a great treat. Service excellent, without being intrusive. Highly recommend.
Having tea at the Shelbourne Hotel was a beautiful experience. The staff were very helpful and friendly and professional, nothing was too much trouble. We were made very welcome and the birthday treat was lovely. Would definitely recommend the high tea experience to anyone looking for a special treat. Thank you for a great day. Josephine McCann.
The food and service were great.
We were a little surprised at the price of a glass of rose champagne. Well worth it but warn other travelers to be aware
Fabulous food and atmosphere. We really enjoyed the live piano music.
The staff were fantastic! I had a few dietary requirements that they accommodated with ease and all the food and tea was fantastic. It really is an indulgent treat and was a special way to celebrate my husbands 30th. It’s not something I’d normally do but I did mention it was a special birthday and they played Happy Birthday on the piano and bought out a plate with small patisserie items and a candle, with happy birthday written in melted chocolate. It was a subtle and classy celebration and although he blushed, he really appreciated the gesture. We really enjoyed our time there and if we get to be in Dublin again for a special occasion we would love to go again.
Server was fantastic. Lovely setting, definitely well worth a visit.
Superb ambience, beautiful selection of teas, savouries and pastries and extra served if you wanted plus lovely doggy box of leftovers to take home. Service was a tad slow which means tea got cold and I felt I was constantly asking for top ups. But a lovely treat and bit of luxury overall.
Excellent service, delighted to be able to take home uneaten cakes, attention to detail was fabulous
We had a lovely afternoon, from the moment we arrived until we were ready to go home the staff couldn’t be nicer. The food and attention to detail was superb
Very elegant. Loads of food. Wonderful tea choices.
This was a great experience, very nicely done. I would definitely do this again. If you have never had a tea time experience, I highly recommend!!
Brought my mam for her 70th birthday and it was fabulous so friendly, relaxing everything and more that I expected,we will definitely be back thank you
What a magnificent experience! Beautiful setting and tradition, excellent, knowledgeable and attentive staff. The teas were varied and flavorful, the delicacies were perfect and they even cater to dietary needs which was above and beyond.
Exceptionally accommodating, even when Dina get off peak times. Their desire to please every diner went above and beyond their desire to please went above and beyond the usual dining experience the usual dining experience. Beautifully furnished and decorated and very comfortable. Would Definitely recommend to friends.
V nice experience but quite expensive
This is my second time here this year, the first time was mid week in April and I have to say I found that time to be slightly more enjoyable, it was quieter and I found the service to be more efficient.
Having said that, both times were highly enjoyable and would definitely go again
Excellent service. Attention to detail sublime. A must for afternoon tea lovers.
It’s always a special experience and treat - and the room is beautiful !
Lovely tea but terrible food. Pretty, but nothing standout.
My sister and I had the most wonderful afternoon to celebrate her birthday . A bespoke menu was provided per my request without any fuss which was a huge relief and pleasure in itself. We will be back soon .
An absolutely fabulous way to spend a couple of hours in the city. Also, our server, Tomas, was brilliant. His knowledge was spot on with regard to all aspects of the afternoon tea.
We had booked this as a special treat for my mother, myself and 2 of my daughters and it was marvellous. The service was superb, and the food was divine. My youngest daughter had the children's menu and the food provided for that was perfect. It's not cheap, but what's seldom is wonderful and I hope to repeat it.
One of our favourite things to do in Dublin is have tea at the Shelbourne. The food is out of this world, the service is impeccable and the ambiance is simply lovely. For the most relaxing and tasteful afternoon, you have to go here.
Had afternoon tea. Food was really good and the staff was friendly. The only problem is the risk of overeating =)
outstanding afternoon tea with superb service, but it is pricey
