Beautiful setting. Afternoon tea sandwiches and desserts were amazing. Personally I would prefer to have my tea at the table with me instead of it being served each time. Staff were quite busy so tea went cold / too strong which was a bit of a disappointment.

We did the afternoon tea service. It was absolutely amazing. It was the first time anyone in my party had ever been to a tea where you could get more sandwiches. It was a lovely experience and I would recommend it highly.

We were very impressed. You are paying for an experience as well as the tea itself. The piano music was just right, not too loud. I was surprised at the amount of choices we had for tea etc and there was no bother ordering additional sandwiches that you liked. The staff were very well presented and our server Patrick was so lovely. He kept us informed but wasn't constantly in our faces.
Overall it was a really lovely experience.

The atmosphere was magic food was amazing except for 2 of the chocolate deserts- they were too heavy and had too much going on with them. The scones (with butter, jam and clotted cream) and the panacotta were the best

Went for afternoon tea. There was a piano player, and the server was very helpful and explained how everything worked and what all the foods were. They had a great tea menu, and during our two hour sitting we could have as many teas or sandwiches as we wanted. Worth the expense.

The occasion was my daughter's birthday. From the minute we arrived we were made welcome. The sandwiches , cakes ,coffee and tea were gorgeous. Presentation of sandwiches and little cakes that looked like they had been crafted by elves they were so pretty and delicate.,even though everything looked tiny we couldn't finish it all. We are not tea drinkers but our lovely lady server suggested trying the Irish whiskey tea which we did.....amazing!

A fantastic experience from start to finish, without a doubt the best afternoon tea in Dublin. Fabulous atmosphere in the lounge with the piano background music. The food is exquisite and the service is exceptional as you would expect. Tomas was our waiter, he was friendly, knowledgable and attentive and you can see he enjoys his job. An extra special touch from the hotel when we received a congratulations plate on the birth of our daughter. Worth every penny! Looking forward to returning already

Gorgeous stylish setting, fantastic ambiance with the gentle piano playing and fire lit. The staff were incredible, so lovely and professional and made us feel very welcomed. Overall, food was delicious, the scones in particular with the clotted cream. We had the afternoon tea and the rhubarb panna cotta and blood orange carrot cake were a bit of an acquired taste.

My 10 year old daughter and I had a magical afternoon tea last Thursday in the Lord Mayor's Lounge. The room was beautiful , we loved the piano music and the food was sublime. Every morsel was a work of art to the eye and on the palate. My daughter said it was more amazing than she had imagined it would be. The creativity even stretched to the beverages on offer and I had some of the loveliest and decadently presented herbal teas I have ever had. Our waiter for our visit, Gregory, couldn't have been more helpful, my daughter has a nut allergy and Gregory was able to (frequently) reassure her that all was under control. In fact his kindness had such an impact on her that she has named a major character after him in the story she is currently writing. Our visit to The Shelbourne was the highlight of a very special mother and daughter trip to Dublin, thank you!

The whole experience was so enjoyable. Our hostess Danielle was so polite and helpful, especially when chosing the teas. The avocado&chicken sandwich was divine. The piano player and music added that little something to the whole atmosphere. Will definitely be back.
