The London - Paddington
It was the perfect place for a casual little party, good food and drinks, great location and the staff were so friendly and accomodating.
Hi Renae, Thank-you for the feedback - we look forward to welcoming you back to The London again soon for your next Function!
Hands down the best roast in Sydney! Portion sizes are generous, yorkshire puddings large and home made, crispy roast potatoes and delicious pork crackling.
Hi Liz, thank-you for your feedback! We're glad to hear the Sunday Roast hit the spot. We look forward to welcoming you back to The London again soon
Yes, if they were up for a very noisy bar/restaurant. They did turn the rugby league on the TV down in the dining room when I asked. Its all self service, but the staff are very friendly and even though it was packed you didnt have to queue too much. Very noisy space though - not great for an intimate dinner with friends.
This is the second time we have been here. The first time was lovely. Great food and service. This time was not great. The not enough staff and the food was not as good as last time. Over all very poor second visit. Which is sad as we were looking forward to dinner due to the great time we had previously.
Love East London! Always fabulous food, service and atmosphere.
Exceptional staff serving well executed Asian food. Absolutely would recommend dining here.
Great night, as always! Awesome waiter, yum food and a very good wine recommendation!
This restaurant is very close to where we live, I wanted it to be good. The dumplings were delicious, the bang bang chicken I would not have again , but the crispy chicken was good. The place was very empty for a Saturday night, then we found out there was a football game on. Staff were in go slow mood and I had to ask for obvious things several times. All up Id go back.
Its a local gem in heart of Paddington. Food is delicious and well presented. Portions are enough for 4 to share. Staff are good especially Taylor the manger. Exceptionally polite and helpful every time we've been there.
Our only complaint is the music! Its awful and doesn't fit the ambience and style of the place. Its OK for the pub downstairs.
Definitely will continue to go to East London and for us its a quick walk home! Perfect
Food here was delicious, so many flavours & very tasty. Really enjoyed all dishes we ordered. Bill at end was expensive but for a special occasion its a great night out.
Service was average. Took a while to take orders and forgot one of them, which they took of the bill when we asked about it. Delicious cocktails & nice range of gins. Food was good, but not amazing. Good place for sharing food in a group
Really relaxed vibe that was welcoming without being overbearing. The atmosphere was great for a Tuesday night, few other tables around. Very casual dining with a menu designed for sharing. We really enjoyed getting a few dishes to share and trying new things. If I had to find an issue, the skirt steak could've been cut a bit smaller or served with a knife. However that is trivial as food and service were overall fantastic. We'll be back soon!
2nd Visit to East London with both visits being great evenings with nice food and good wine selections. Very casual which is always nice too.
The food was fabulous
Great night out. Perfect mid-week spot. Food was outstanding.
Delicious food and enjoyable place to dine with friends.
We sat in the private dining area with the high round table. Perfect spot for good conversation, still filled with atmosphere but we could hear each other with the glass doors closed.
Just slightly on the chilly side in the evening.
Food was fantastic, everything we ordered was delicious.
Dumplings, wontons, duck pancakes, fish, noodles with prawns, brussel sprouts, all yum.
this was our 4th visit to East London. I think the menu and chef have changed. The food was not as good as previously. I will not be returning
East is a bit of a local's secret. Beautiful Chinese food with a twist, lovely environment and well priced. Certainly my current 'go to' restaurant. Been there 3 times in the last 2 months.
Chicken and corn potstickers were undercooked and had to be sent back - staff compensated with a round of drinks and free dumplings. After the incident though, the staff avoided us (probably from embarrassment) but we couldn't get their attention. They would pour sparkling water into still water and vice versa.
Six of us had a meal there on Saturday night. The waitress was really nice and wasn't too pushy. She was very attentive but not in an intrusive way. It's quite loud in the bar downstairs but the restaurant upstairs is perfect for ambiance and you can chat properly (the spice smells from the kitchen were amazing too!). This is a nice 'laid back' local restaurant. Beautiful food & great service
The staff and service was outstanding.
Really enjoyed the food and the ambience. Would high recommend this restaurant.
Fab all round.
This was the third time we have taken friends to this Restaurant. Previously we have had a good experience, however last night was disappointing. We felt rushed, main courses were being served with entrees, a vegetable side dish was served with rice before any main courses.
We raised our concerns and still found the problems continued. We will not be returning to East London in the near future.
Good setting quiet as it was a Tuesday night. Unusual for a paddo pub.
This is the second time I've been to East London. Last time two of us and this time four. Designed around a starring menu four meant we could have the banquet. Normally something I would shy away from the Waitstaff permitted us to swap in and out dished. Food is creative and interesting with a modern Chinese influence. The wine list , while not extensive is tailored for the cuisine. A great experience all round. Highly recommended.
Fabulous, modern asian food, if you are not one for spice definitely ask them to tone it down as many of the dishes were spicy, but we loved it
Always good food here. Great service and nice fitout
we had two vegetarians in our group and there was no issue at all providing one banquet for us and one for them
Great good. Quick service
We went with a party of 5 on a Sunday evening. The food was lovely, very tasty and a great menu.
Gin cocktails also supberb.
Apart from the food, the place was very empty and the service lackluster. They were quick to tell us the kitchen closed at 8 on our 7pm arrival and the staff seemed to have knocked off part way through our meal.
I can see it would be good when busy so the vibe lifted - but Sunday night was very dead.
Really enjoyed the food. Paddington lacks Good Asian restaurants and now we have it,
Great food and ambience
I was disappointed with my dining experience. The menu looks stunning, but the portion sizes were small and the execution was pretty uninspired. The same ingredients seemed to repeat and there was far too much 'filler' ingredients like bean shoots making up for a lck of meat in the main dishes.
The meal was very disappointing in all aspects. Nothing like what we had hoped. No flavour, poor presentation. From the crispy duck that was not crispy and very lacking in any flavour to the eggplant which was literally 2 or 3 tiny pieces of the vegie and loads of pork mince, to the dumplings that was like golf balls. No sauces or spices were offered on any dishes.
Great anniversary meal.. would defo reccomend
Horrible overcooked fish, terrible service when we told them
The service was great. The food was also of a high level however we were served one entree and two mains (share plates) all in a space of less than two minutes. The fish had gone cold by the time we started eating it. If we weren't sitting by a window sill there would have been no room on the table for all the dishes. The restaurant needs better kitchen management.
