Despite all your reminders when we got that the restaurant was closed
The place is closed, but still taking reservations... :-(
Unfortunately the restaurant was closed when we arrived, with no warning or explanation!
Amazing food! :)
We came on a recomendation from trip adviser. We were not disapointed. The staff were very friendly but not in you face. Food choice was small but lovely.we had burgers which we shared because we couldnt make our mind which one. My niece had the lasngne which see said was the best.
Really good, fresh food, sourced from Smithfield market and Billingsgate market.
The cocktails were brilliant. Staff and service was very good
Very nice venue with excellent staff and good quality food.
Great food and service with fantastic happy hour
Had a beautiful meal at this hotel. The food was excellent as was the very attentive and professional service in reception, bar and restaurant.
The only strange thing was that at 8pm on Saturday night we seemed to be the only customers. I didn't mind that but it was slightly odd. I could not fault the menu, wine list, food presentation or taste; it was all great. I'll definitely be going again.
I will definetely come back. The restaurant is spacious the staff friendly and available all time, we appreciated the kindness of the members of staff through the all dinner and the food was delicious! My friends came to visit, I was in charge of showing the city and provide them with a fairly enjoyable dinner experience, but the choice is so much in London and not it is not easy to find the standard one is looking for, I felt really lucky for finding the Localist! Vibrant area and great food.
The food was reasonably priced but quite average. A low point was the cheese & charcuterie board which seemed to include circular shaped meat as if purchased in a plastic packet from a supermarket and for which we were charged £14.
The venue was extremely noisy - partly due to poor acoustics but mainly because there were at least 3 large groups with two private parties dominating the venue in terms of space and noise when we visited on Saturday evening. One couple next to us left halfway through their meal and bottle of wine - they were not impressed.
Good service, variety of food and drinks - fresh and tasty
Perfect lace for a nice and unpretentious meal after a visit at Barbican.
This is a relatively new restaurant and has already attracted excellent reviews - which caused us to choose to eat there.
It is not the largest menu but it is wide-ranging. Everything we ate was absolutely delicious.
There were 4 of us and we had a few sharing plates - Mozzarella bites, aubergine puree, meatballs and artisan bread. all very tasty.
Main courses included sea bream, lasagne and 2 different types of burger. All enjoyed by everyone.
Despite there being no desert menu on the website, there were several to be enjoyed including cheesecake with chocolate sauce (delicious), chocolate brownie, mille feuille, tiramisu and ice creams.
Special mention for their range of house cocktails - especially the crazy coconut!
Service was very attentive and overall this was a great dining experience.
Very good food and an appealing menu. Attentive service. Ambiance a bit generic and not cosy. Not a lot of traffic. Feels like they might not be getting much evening business perhaps due to location. Worth a visit didn't feel like a romantic venue.
The restaurant has just recently opened and of the service we received is anything to go by then I have no doubt it will be here for many years
It was very quiet when we arrived (7pm on a Saturday) - so we were concerned it would have no atmosphere, but it got busier later on and was quite buzzy. The portions on the sharing plates were generous, so after ordering 4 we didn't any more - apart from dessert, which was the biggest brownie I've ever been served - perfect for sharing. The menu is interesting without being whacky, and it was all very tasty.
I've been to the localist a week ago, since they opened I always wanted to go, I couldn't due to the busy work. Finally I got there for a dinner on a Saturday evening. The new GM is knowledgeable and friendly chap!
We had few starters to share and main course. Everything looked so yummy!!!
I do highly recommend the pork belly -unbelievable tasty.
A great find! My request for a quiet table was fulfilled, we had a choice of several tables. The staff were very attentive, but at the same time not in your face. We had booked an early evening meal with friends before attending Sadler's Wells for an evening of cultural entertainment. A bottle of Prosecco was brought to the table together with four glasses which had been perfectly chilled. We chose from the sharing plates menu which was varied and had something for everyone. The food arrived quickly, and was excellent! As we progressed, main courses were ordered, followed by desserts and coffee for some! Our waiter, Vad was exceptional, and didn't have to write down our order which was very impressive. A perfect way to start the evening. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Well located, casual lunch/dinner spot. Friendly and prompt service. Food was decent and well-presented. Good value special lunch menu. Some main menu items pricey, but in line with most good quality Central London venues.
Good quality food presented nicely. Staff on point. Overall a nice experience.
Very well designed restaurant. Romantic and friendly at the same time.
The food was very tasty and worth the price. They had a singer playing live music, who contributed to make the atmosphere even nicer. Definitely recommended
Great restaurant with wonderful food and service. Our server Tea was wonderful! We enjoyed talking with her! I had the leg of lamb, and it was juicy, tender- fabulous! In my opinion, the lamb was better than Gordon Ramsey's Maze.
Went after work with coworkers and friends. Drinks were on point and appropriately priced, menu was diverse enough to have options for all - but so massive that you got lost in it, food was as to be expected - diverse flavors and fun combinations. All in all, a nice meal / gathering at a new place in Clerkenwell.
Will be going back. They look to have a decent sized outdoor area (we went when it was raining) as well.
Had a girls night there and loved it! 20% off food deal was great and they do amazing cocktails on happy hour. The fruity chilli one was amazing as was the lychee one would reccomend.
Had a really lovely evening meal. Wednesday evening & it was quiet. Great service
My husband and I tried this place out after work after being drawn in by a 50% off food promotion. All in all, it was a nice and convenient place to grab dinner. My favorite part was the decor and ambiance. We received good service by about 4 different servers (kind of confusing, but they are new and working out the kinks, and to be honest, it was refreshing compared to typical London service). The food was good, not life changing - e.g. wouldn't pay £18 for the grilled sea bass, but £9 on promotion seemed reasonable. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area.
Great meal and place, really enjoyed the burrata and tuna steak. will be back for sure
Early family dinner. 1st visit. Staff overly attentive as they really wanted to make a good impression, they could relax a little as it's all good.
Cocktails were fabulous, food delicious, service excellent and a relaxed casual atmosphere.
Would go back
