This was our second visit to the Lobster Pier, however this time was a bit of a disappointment - I made a booking through a voucher and upon arrival we asked to get the Roll first but received our whole meal within minutes of arriving.- I am not sure if it was because we had a voucher but unfortunately the lobster was very dry and we could not taste any butter sauce on it. As for the lobster roll - I am not sure what seafood was meant to be in it but my husband and I were both disappointed as there was literally hardly anything in it and it was also so dry that my husband left some of his roll which was unusual for him to say the least. It almost felt that because we had a voucher with a discount it was as though our meal was ready and waiting for us.

this is a small restaurant with a compact menu based on lobster and seafood. Serves are generous, there are tasty seafood rolls served in a tastier than usual brioche bun, and affordable lobster which was delicious but slightly overcooked. Service was friendly and efficient, as there were 2 front staff for only 4 tables while we were there.

Very attentive and efficient service. The lobster could have had more butter sauce - perhaps provide an extra pot on the side. A sharper knife is required to cut the lobster out of its shell.

Our Calamari stack was tender but needed to be hotter it was only Luke warm and the seafood roll was very disappointing with minimal Seafood this was very obvious as 2 other customers had them and theirs was brimming , we were using a Voucher they were not.
The service was very good.

Staff very attentive and prompt. Enjoyed the mocktail. Sides were enjoyable but the Star of the meal The Lobster was over cooked and dry. had to use both hands to remove the meat from the shell as it was that dry. Staff did offer a 10% discount on next visit!

Very difficult to find this very small venue.
No license and no BYO

Responded on 17 May 2021

Hi ChrisN, We're really sorry about the lack of visibility but rest assured that we are in midst of setting up an alfresco dining area by the end of the year. With that, we would have much better visibility from the main road. With regard to BYO, our application for a liquor license is still pending and we seek your kind understanding on that. For restaurant license, rest assured that we have one that is on display at the counter. Thank you for your kind understanding. The Lobster Pier

GREAT VALUE WITH LOVELY TASTING FOOD. STAFF WERE VERY NICE. WHEN BOOKING SAID IT WAS FOR MY HUSBANDS BIRTHDAY AND THEY HAD A SMALL CHEESECAKE FOR OUR DESSERT FREE. LOVELY GESTURE.
WOULD RECOMMEND FOR A SMALL GROUP AS RESTURANT IS NOT VERY BIG.
OTHERWISE COULD NOT FAULT THEM.

Wonderful, friendly, experienced wait staff. Truffle and Cajun fries were lovely. Unfortunately, the lobsters are frozen and my lobster was overcooked and my partner's was not fresh. The staff took my partner's off the bill and even gave me a cheesecake to celebrate my birthday. A lovely place if you are not particular about fresh lobster.

Service was friendly and that's where the nice comments end. The food was awful. The rolls were so dry I could only manage 1 bite of mine and the seafood in them was quite unpleasant to eat. The truffle fries had so much grease in them it felt like they had been cooked at least twice and absorbed all the fat. The nicest things on the table was the bottle of water and the aioli.

Great Idea to perfect a couple of simple seafood rolls !!
Definitely fair value and tasted great 👍
The young bloke serving did a great job too...
Only negative I felt was there needs to be more lobster 🦞 in the rolls!!
Pack them to the gills and I think customers will return.
Great concept and beautiful taste just fill/ overfill the rolls

Went in expecting what the photos showed and then asked about roll sizes. Was told the regular is similar to a 6 inch sub and the large was under a foot long. Got them and the regular was skinny but about the length of my iPhone 12, the large was the same in length but the width of a proper roll. The Cajun chips are Cajun sweet potato chips. The menu emphasises in big bold letters the words Cajun but then in small letters underneath that it’s sweet potato. I misread that and didn’t see it so expected Cajun fries or chips not Cajun sweet potato chips. It’s a very tiny restaurant so book. Go a give it a try but I won’t be going back as it’s way to overpriced for what you get. Should be located over a pier or at a marina.

The Lobster Pier
Responded on 3 December 2020

Hi Boccsta, Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. We could have done better to explain the sizes of the roll and we're shared this with our staff to ensure that it is better communicated in future. With regard to pricing, do understand that reviews have indicated that the portioning is ample based on our pricing. Nonetheless, we take your feedback seriously and will continue to do better. We will always be at your service so do give us a chance again in the near future.

Very hard to find. Had to phone for direction. Service was very efficient but the food is just fair (the mushrooms, fried onion rings and chips are good but the cheese cakes are a bit too sweet for my taste). Why should we pay an extra $12 for specials? Should have been included in the original offer, even if we have to pay a little bit more.

Hi DavidS, Thank you for your review. We will do better to improve on our directions as we have plans to increase our visibility by the first quarter of next year.
