Wine dinner. Excellent food and service as always!!
Surprisingly short 35 minute ride from Cheshire Connecticut, well worth it beautiful scenery. Upon arrival greeted by the owner. There were several menu opportunities on a Sunday. My wife ordered off the menu, I had a brunch item. The build a bloody Mary was a cool concept an excellent value and a delicious drink
Food was delicious from appetizers to dessert. Our waitress, Courtney, was amazing. So sweet and attentive. Her recommendations were amazing.
Good food however we found it a bit pricey.
Food was good, not great. Menu had a nice selection and good quality for our meals. Service was mediocre. Waitress was pleasant but seemed disorganized. For example, she asked if we were ready to order, we said we were, she promptly turned around, walked away, came back, filled our water, returned the pitcher, then took our order. On a plus, we were not in a hurry and they did not rush us out.
We went there using a Groupon had an incredibly wonderful meal and an incredibly wonderful place
Jill did a great job providing suggestions from the menu and being attentive.
Tasty dinner, but nothing special. The wandering barbershop quartet was a nice touch.
The food and service were excellent!
Our server, Jill, was warm and attentive, even on one of the busiest nights of the year (Valentine’s Day).
All aspects of the meal were delicious — from the apps (warm bread, shrimp cocktail, and clam chowder) through the mains (mac & cheese with lobster and surf & turf) to dessert (chocolate mousse and bread pudding).
We’re looking forward to our next visit!
Don’t know if it was just an off night or what but the food was terrible with exception of the salad , for how expensive the meal was is should have been way better than terrible , just saying
Great meal and choices. I do wish the Groupon covered appetizer, meal and dessert instead of app, salad/soup and meal.
The food and service were fantastic. I would have rather satin a dining room, not in the bar. The fireplace was nice to look at though.
We have been here many times, it's definitely our go to place. Seafood or steak, It's always delicious. The drinks and desserts are excellent as well. The atmosphere is very chill and it's always a great experience
It was very disappointing
Food had no flavor and was not served hot
The waitress never came back
Took 10 minutes to get the check
We will not be back until they get their act together
We enjoyed a fantastic dinner to celebrate our anniversary. We were greeted by the friendly host. Our server was great and very personable. The food was amazing. Loved the quaint atmosphere in the bar area!
Service was excellent! Fish and chips was VERY good. Fresh fish in light batter and generous portion. Among the best I have had anywhere. Eggplant rolatini while it looked good was not their best effort and they were kind enough to remove from bill without us asking. Very thoughtful staff. Clean and pleasant ambiance with fireplace. Overall very enjoyable.
Wonderful food, lovely staff, and a cozy, warm environment on a winter’s day.
We love this place. Casual, with a nice atmosphere and character. The food is good to very good, and priced well plus always consistent. Drinks are moderately priced but no so much as other Litchfields establishments. Very nice comfortable bar area as well. And there is outdoor seating in warmer weather. Always impresses us!
Celebrating a birthday of a loved one no longer with us. It was a perfect place
Holiday get together
I have been attending the wine dinner for 4 years without missing one and every one has been wonderful!!!
Relaxing, friendly atmosphere. Not too noisy, perfect for table conversation. Surf and turf with sides, generous and cooked as requested. Pleasant surprise was the reasonable priced quality wine. Looking forward to returning.
We went for lunch on a Sunday to celebrate our anniversary. Our waitress was so friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable about the menu! Although she seemed to be the only waitress there she was attentive and responded quickly to any requests. The food was delicious--from appetizers to dessert everything was perfect! We also appreciated the generous gift of a free dessert since we were celebrating.
An absolutely perfect visit, wonderful meal and excellent service. We will be back!!
Next month will be 4 years without missing one wine dinner! I look forward to them every month!!
Pleasant service, very good food and generous portions. Nice selection of beers and wines. One of our favorite restaurants in Litchfield.
Went for our 20th Wedding Anniversary, and It was acknowledged by hostess and waitress (I noted it in the one table reservation). Received complimentary glasses of Prosecco. Food was prepared and presented nicely and was delicious. One drawback was that it was chilly in the dining room. Would definitely go again. Difficult to find good seafood in our area (Southbury).
Went for Veteran’s Day. Everything was great and they offered a great discount because we were veteran’s. Love this place!
Uncrowned but kitchen was beyond slow.
It was fine. I hate when I am told the specials but there's no price to them. I doubt most people don't care what they pay so why not print it up and put it on the table. I like to read my specials and not have someone recite them to me.
The halibut in lobster sauce was plain halibut that had the sauce added so the flavor was not intense in the halibut . The vegetable ribbons were horrid.. overcooked and with no flavor.. what vegetables were there. The roasted potatoes were fine.
It's ok but not fine dining- more of a pub feel to it
This was awful. Service was horrible. Took her for ever to take an order for dinner and when dinner finally came out one was missing
There are much better options in town. Avoid!!
Our server was very inattentive. We had to ask for water multiple times and she did not check on our food once delivered until we had completed our meal. Atmosphere is very nice. My salad was just ok. I would not rush back to the restsurant.
Wonderful experience as usual with my husband at our favorite restaurant. Customer service is always excellent both with the wait staff and hosts who greet you.
In fact when we arrived the host was on the phone with a customer but rather then us waiting he asked a colleague to seat us! Its always like that there and the food is excellent
Try the seafood tower and if you like spicy their Hot and Spicy Dirty Harry Martini is literally the best drink ever!
Disappointing to say the least. After a wonderful plate of oysters, the rest of the meal was pretty poor. My fish was badly undercooked on one side and properly cooked on the side that showed. It was fluke "stuffed with lobster"-stuffed with one piece of the end of a claw which I usually throw out as it's rubbery and not worth eating. My three dining companions weren't exactly raving either. Only the oysters (which are pretty tough to ruin since they're raw) were a standout. Service was slow although the waitress was nice enough. I'm guessing I won't be returning. There are better choices in the neighborhood.
The last couple of times the noise level was much too high. This time, it was just right. If you want to be able to hear yourself, go early and leave the later dinners to the noisy.
Service and food were excellent
Everything we were served was great. Best fish and chips I ever had
The food was great. Service was great. Love the rustic ambience. The only downside was, they offer a 7:45 PM and an 8 PM reservation. We took the 7:45 PM and by 8 o’clock we were the last ones in the place so we felt like we had to rush. They didn’t necessarily give the impression that we had to but once they started counting the cash in the register and it looked like they were cleaning up we felt we had to get moving. The server asked us if we wanted dessert and we probably would have had dessert and a cup of coffee but we didn’t want to keep them any longer than they had to be there so we said no and left. I would go back but I wouldn’t take one of the last reservations again. There is a bar so we figured OK maybe the kitchen just closes at 8 PM and people will still be having drinks at the bar but that was not the case.
The food is excellent and service has been good in the past. I hope the my last visit is the exception and not the norm.
Had a longish wait for service. Once served the experience was pleasant. The food was satisfactory yet unremarkable. The sweet potato crab cake was basically a sweet potato cake. Chicken quinoa soup was adequate yet lacking in flavor. Wine choices were good. Background music was pleasant.
Always great local favorite
