The Legal Eagle
Lunch features a daily roast-in-roll, Irish potato flatbreads (think bacon, cabbage & parsley sauce / think roasted squash, fig & honey / think smoked haddock brandade, fennel & duck egg!) and meats from our wood oven, traditional meat platters (hay-smoked ham, corned mutton, haslet, pickles) and delicious Seafood platters filled with the best from our coastal waters. Dinner adds roast bone marrow, rump heart, cauliflower rarebit and Shropshire Blue soufflé. There are 20 craft beers on tap, over 200 wines on a stellar list written with love and a small but considered and decidedly timeless classic cocktail list.
Tried the potato flatbread with haggis. Wonderfully different. Great service also
Legal eagle food is old fashioned with a new twist. Chose the fish and cheese platters from the woodfire menu, including new & flavoursome twist on pickled eggs and pickled vegetables. The service was warm, informed and fun. The tables for two are a little cramped & neighbouring tables were loud so a bit more space would help.
With my friend, we have take 2 différents plate and the two are very good. It's a very good restaurant with good service
Very good food
Happy enough work food, ambiance etc., but mistakingly, I asked for a bottle of house white without asking to see the wine list first. I was given a bottle, that I discovered on receipt of the bill, was nearly €40. Even though it was my totally my fault to make an assumption about price, I feel perhaps this price could have been mentioned to me by staff before the bottle was opened.
Great inventive food!
Highly reccommend the food, and great value in the centre of Dublin. If you are looking for something different and want to walk down a culinary memory lane this is the place for you
Food and service were both excellent. We ate off the early bird menu and it was good value.
Every course was Luke warm, maybe it was the night in it(valentines) service although polite was lacking due to understaffing. Will be back for drinks but unless the food is not premade and kept in a hot box I won't be dining.
Friendly, tasty and lovely atmosphere. Great wine list
Very happy we went here. Roast beef was the best I've ever eaten. And staff were very friendly. Give it a go people =)
We went to Legal Eagle for a lunch before the rugby last week. The food was outstanding and the bar is the perfect balance between fine dining and gastro pub. We felt comfortable being casually dressed but still getting the fine dining experience with the food served. The menu is unique and we enjoyed the sharing platters between us. The staff are knowledgeable about the food and drink and the service was first class. We hope to return one day.
Food was good and the menu was interesting. Was nice to eat something new and different. The cocktails are amazing and would highly recommend getting one with your meal.
The Legal Eagle is a perfectly pleasant spot for a very decent bite.
The booking process was very simple and the reminder very helpful. I accidentally booked for the wrong number of people and it was dealt with without any issue. I had the steak pie and it was excellent. I cannot fault the place, the food or the service. I will be back!
The staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Very warm and inviting location with delicious food.
I expected it to be more of a gastro pub than a restaurant. Oysters were delicious for the starter but I didn’t rate the sole for main course. Great wine and beer selection and lovely setting but expected the food to be nicer.
Every dish was absolutely delicious. The portions were fantastic. I ordered the mussels and there were so many I couldn't even finish! But, the sauce that came with them was fantastic and there wasn't a single bad mussel in the bunch. Great atmosphere and great food.
Had a good lunch relaxed atmosphere extremely good service and great food The waiter could not have been more helpful all round a great experience
A little loud, but as you would expect its busy.
Pricing a little heavy but yuo need to pay for this quality
Was looking forward to meal - heard really good things about the food, although about a year ago. Steak and ale Pie was flavorless so too was the gravy- zero flavor. Chips were hard, under cooked. Expect a lot more for €22. Good sharing platter. Treacle tart was very good.
As always The Legal Eagle is excellent. I would like if they could maybe do away with ‘70’s Sunday’s and add in some flat breads onto the menu. As a regular patron on Sunday’s I don’t seem to be able to try some of their other excellent offerings.
One of the best kitchens you'll find, and not only in Dublin!
The Legal Eagle is a must visit: local ingredients, original mixture of tastes and plates that combine original Irish cuisine with the finest of everywhere else.
A fan? Me? Well … yes, I am!
Prima esperienza irlandese, ho trovato del buon cibo e una bella atmosfera, molto simpatiche le ragazze che ci hanno servito!
Great experience and atmosphere, tasty food and friendly staff! We had a great night, totally recommended!
We went this last weekend to Legal Eagle for my parents 60th birthday dinner while away in Dublin for the weekend. They were so lovely right from the start! One of our party was a new vegan (we had booked before this happened) and they created dishes off menu for him so he wouldn’t have to eat just chips!
The steak and ale pie was unbelievable and the staff were brilliant. Definitely recommend!
Delicious meal, very pleasantly served, lovely surroundings before going to carol service in Christchurch Cathedral - highly recommend!
Delicious traditional Irish food with a twist. Would highly recommend.
The service was great and the wine and overall atmosphere were great too. Just the food was below average and overpriced. I thought the seventies style menu would be done very well but it was very dry and not very hot at all. The starters were definitely better than mains but overall was not worth the money.
The food is really good and great service
Not very impressed with the dinner choice on Saturday night. I had the wild venison & chestnut suet pudding and my friend had the Steak & ale pie , both which were stodgy and quite unappealing. I think we'll be giving it a miss for a while.
Fantastic food. One of the best i have had, the starters are out of this world
Lovely decor, lovely food, great service, quite expensive.
Wonderful choice of food.... the roast beef was possibly the best I’ve ever had! The fish platter that my daughter had for her main looked beautiful and apparently tasted even better than it looked. If I had to criticise anything, it would be really hard other than to say some green veg would be a great addition to the roast. Sublime!
Really nice menu. Good variety.
Food always fantastic.
We had the seafood starter, sweet breads, beef brisket, hake and a potato flatbread.
Also Eton mess for desert. All the food was good and well portioned.
Good choice of drinks. Craft beers and wines
Service friendly and excellent.
With 2 friends from Washington DC most impressed by inventive varied menu wine list and attentive service. Gary and Geraldine most helpful. They will go back to the Legal Eagle before heading home.
Traditional Pub with great food, good value for money!
von außen unscheinbar, aber super Essensqualität, super Service und nett zum sitzen
Pretty lunch setting. Great food and staff - roast beef was delicious
Great restaurant with retro themed menu when we were there . Jelly and ice cream . What’s not to like about that
