I was married @ The Lagoon in 2017 and celebrate my anniversary with my husband every year since.
The Lagoon Seafood Restaurant did not disappoint. Been a few years since we were last there and it's still exceptional. My husband and I were celebrating our 25th Wedding Anniversary and were well looked after by Aiden.
Great friendly service and excellent food
The food we had was good but after our main course was delivered no-one came near us. No "Would you like desert or coffee?", nothing. We even had to chase the staff to pay the bill. Plus the whole place was very grungy, the carpet dirty, some of the staff in grungy clothes, the kitchen didn't look spotless either.
We celebrated a birthday lunch on Sunday 3rd November. The food was great and the service was wonderful. However the noise level was quite loud and made it very difficult for 2 of our group who have hearing impairments.
The food was expensive however it was presented and cooked to perfection so for that special event we would certainly recommend it.
We will visit again, next time we are going to try the seafood platter, it looked amazing us it went past us to other tables.
The wait staff were friendly and attentive
Went to Dinner for my wife's birthday for the nice dining experience however the main dining hall was allocated to a wedding function. All the remaining diners were pushed into a small function room with smelly carpet. Our table was broken however the waiter couldn't offer us anything more than a polite "Sorry"
On arrival it was a bit hectic, the restaurant was at change over from lunch to dinner. We were seated at a table enjoying our pre dinner drinks when there was lots of movement drawing curtains, moving tables. We were asked to stand up as they repositioned our table. My thoughts were why did they seat us if the restaurant wasn’t ready. We traveled from Sydney and unfortunately our 1st impression wasn’t great. Our night did improve though and we enjoyed our seafood platter and had a lovely night
Casual diners were placed in a separate side room as a big function was in the main dining area.
, I didn’t much like this.
However my only real complaint is the lack of thin chips.
Bathrooms were disgusting and an embarrassment to the Lagoon.
Food and service exceptional.
We went for the fixed price two or three course lunch menu shown on website, only to find it was not available. Seafood chowder entree was first class. Kangaroo main course was tough and tasteless and overwealmed with pepper. Haloumi entree was mediocre as was prawn and crab ravioli. The experience was a little disappointing in contrast to excellent 3 course meals we had recently at Level One
Very friendly and helpful waiter who gave exceptional service as well as good food
Staff were welcoming, polite and professional. Food was amazing. Pork belly and the seafood were top notch. The chocolate peanut bombe, was incredible. Have not been this satisfied with dinner out for a long time. Definitely will be coming back.
Excellent customer service quick to bring food and drinks out. Beautiful views.
Has been our favourite Restaraunt for many years. We travel from Sydney each time we go and never get a bad meal. Lunch specials are real value and where would you sit in a quality Restaraunt and have such beautiful views over a lagoon a beach and an ocean?
Food and presentation what one would expect for this type of venue. While restaurant only half full (Tuesday night) acoustics not good. Shame that we had to ask for finger bowls!
I have been to this restaurant a number of times and I’ve never had a bad meal
I also enjoy the atmosphere .
.it is quite relaxing and friendly
I would definitely recommend going to Lagoon Restaraunt if you are a lover of seafood as i am
Lagoon is in an excellent location. It has lovely views and the tables are sufficiently apart to enable quiet conversation and a relaxing meal. The staff are very attentive and helpful but not overbearing or haughty. The menu is interesting and varied and the quality of the food very good though on two occasions now my meat was overcooked. My only serious criticism is the quantity of food served which is considerably greater than one expects from a fine dining restaurant. Lagoon would do well to decrease the quantity and increase the quality.
Food was fantastic, staff lovely and service was excellent.
food and service was excellent. thanks
The staff looked after us (6 women) very well. They knew we were celebrating a 60th birthday and did their best to make the birthday girl feel special... even down to putting a candle in her dessert and scrawling in chocolate “ Happy Birthday “ . We had the lunchtime set menu, which was excellent with plenty of choice. We all thought our meal was delicious and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Well done Lagoon staff 👍
Very disappointed as we booked the six course Spring degustation with 4 wines for Saturday evening. When we arrived we were told that they do do not provide this menu on a Sat eve. At no point prior were we informed of this. There were no red flags on the website alerting me of this when I booked the Saturday for dinner at 7pm. In fact it even stated to make sure you put Spring degustation in the special requirements box. Staff apologised, gave us a free bottle of wine, chosen meals good.
Our party of 9 attended to celebrate the birthday of two participants.
When we finally were seated at our table, the service, food quality and ambience was excellent.
Unfortunately, our table was not available on arrival and the staff seemed to have no idea of when we could be seated. After half an hour we were finally seated. An offered round of drinks did not placate the lack of concern of the staff on our delayed seating.
We went to The Lagoon for our first wedding anniversary. We don't typically go out to dinner but it was absolutely lovely to get out for a while. The servers were all lovely and accommodating, the food came out so quickly and everything was delicious. We will definitely be back, and may also kidnap a chef so they can make that delicious asparagus and haloumi for us at home!
We opted for the degustation plus wine menu .It was the best dining experience we ever had .
Each dish was presented like a piece of art & tasted magnificent .Matching wines were perfect .
Service was exceptional , value for money was awsome
The 2.5 hours flew the Chef actually came out at the end of the meal to make sure we were happy .
Thank you to all the staff at the lagoon for a very memorable experience.
Sue & Joe Vella
Great location with water views and good food
We had the hot and cold seafood platter it was fantastic . We weren't very impressed with the foul language coming from the kitchen which could be heard in the reasturant. Personally I wasn't afended but my wife wasn't very impressed
Its the only place now we will eat our favorite seafood and prepare to travel form Sydney
The service was slow, we had to wait about half an hour for our drinks to be served. The food was not worth what we paid for it and the noise level was horrible. My partner and I had to yell at each other over the table.
We enjoyed a special degustation with matching wines. The food was very good, especially the sashimi and the beef. All the paired wines were perfect. The service provided by our waiter Alan added an extra enjoyment to our evening.
We were celebrating my father's 80th birthday, the atmosphere was wonderful, the view was beautiful and the staff were excellent. They made us more than comfortable and ensured our every need was met. The Lagoon Seafood Restaurant met every request we made, ensuring that we were seated in a prime position to enjoy the ocean scenery.
Service was excellent, food was great! The only thing that we would change was the people smoking on the front patio, where the smoke travelled into the restaurant (or mainly near us as we sat at the glass window that divided the patio and the inside of the restaurant)
Highly recommend the seafood platter for 2!
We had a great meal.
We asked to have our table changed to a different area due to noise and he staff couldn’t have been more accommodating
Food quality was good.
Ambience terrible. Seated near doorway and strong cigarette smell every time door was opened. Which was every few minutes.
Requested a beach view for our 20th anniversary and got seated furthest away from any view other than the broken furniture and picture frame at the rear of restaurant.
I was embarrassed to have taken my wife their on such a special occasion.
It was a cracker of a meal and the service matched the quality of the meal. It was our second time and we will be going again. Would recommend to anyone especially for a special occasion. It was our 50th wedding anniversary.
Was so looking forward to our lunch at Lagoon Restaurant yesterday, as we have done in the past but today I feel that I will not be going back again !! Very disappointed in the 'service' we received. Had to request 3 times for some table water & received our oysters but no cutlery to eat them with !!!! My 'wild barramundi' was very unpleasant to eat and considering the price , extremely poor value.
Dinner for two was lovely. Meal was delicious and generous. It was very busy as it was Father’s Day, but the staff were attentive.
The seafood platter was absolutely amazing! So fresh and more than enough food. The service was outstanding and all the staff are friendly. The price was really good for the quality. We had the best lunch ever. They even serenaded my mum and sister singing happy birthday! Lovely!
