Food was good. Nice view of river. One negative, they were out of drink special, out of another two drinks, out of pork. Menu was limited to begin with, so not many options.

It was kind of loud for lunch. Music could have been lower. Hard to talk. Server kept saying items on the menu might not be available.

Incredibly accommodating to a large party (10 people) and very thoughtful and helpful communication with management prior to the reservation when arranging a surprise for one of the guests. We did go during peak hour for Sunday brunch, so service ended up being very slow and it was very loud with indoor seating. Recommend going during off-peak hours & get outdoor seating if you can.

This was a disappointing outing at The Kitchen.. The food was good, but the service was disappointing. Our sever was not friendly and not attentive. After she took our order, we did not see her again until she brought the bill, We flagged down another server to refills on our coffee and iced tea. We have been numerous times, the food is pretty consistent, but the service is not.

We sat outside with a view of the river, which was worth the wait. The service is very slow. Food was good. There were several vegan options. The view from the outside patio looks out over the river so the boat traffic is very entertaining.

Nice service, they were able to accommodate our late arrival due to tour boat delay, even though their site had said reservations not available at the time we arrived. Also accommodated our request for a table change so our out of town visitor could enjoy river view.
Good food, pricey to us, but not of line for downtown. Would dine there again.

Came for a birthday Friday and it was my first time there. Had reservations at 7:15 but was told it was at 7:30 which was fine. I had requested outdoor seating at time of reservations but they gave us inside seating. Once we sat down waiter took like 15 minutes to come to the table and didnt even greet us or tell us his name. He took our drink orders mind you it was 4 of us and the water they brought us was very warm. When he took our food order, we had ordered hushpuppy shrimp for appetizers. He came back 10 minutes later to tell us they were out of that appetizer and was bringing hummus instead to us on the house. He could have asked what else we wanted for an appetizer because what if we didnt want that. I mean the hummus was ok but would have liked something else. Then one of the 4 of us ordered ribeye steak and that came out like 10 minutes before everyone else's food which was weird. Food was good. Then when it was time for desert they took our food away without asking if we wanted to go boxes. We were kind of mad but just ordered desert. Then when the check came the bill was about $200. At that time I wanted to speak to a manager not because of the bill amount but because of the service, the drinks and how they took our food away without asking
We was told the manager was busy which I found rude. We were so mad we just paid and left. Would I ever go back maybe not. Other then the food being good that's all the restaurant has for it. I mean lighting wasnt even great. I didnt want free food or something's taken off the bill, I just wanted to say something to the manager so this type of thing doesnt happen to anyone else. At this time I do wish something could been done about the bill since they treated us bad in a way and said the manager was busy but they could have said please wait so and so amount of time for the manager but they didnt. Would I ever recommend this place no. Maybe for the food if its to go but I would suggest somewhere else first.

Food portions seemed smaller. Hostess very friendly. Outdoor view beautiful. Service was slow and unorganized. He seemed if he would smile after he forgot water or drinks that would make up for the poor service.

Such a great find on the Riverwalk. Food was delicious & Service was great. Wish there were a few more choices on the Menu. But then maybe it would have been harder to choose.

Limited menu. $12 drinks were super small. Out of several items on menu. We picked it for the awesome view but considering we were the only ones there, should have tipped us off.

decent place, nice location, a few too many half-bearded millennials spending mommy's money on craft beers though, oh, and several patrons wearing ball caps backwards... neat

Great food but server could have been more attentive..did not bring some requested items, forgot about some condiments.
Server was very nice though.
Old Fashioned and other cocktails were delicious. Shrimp croquetas, burgers, and tacos were great!
Donuts and cinnamon roll were wonderful desserts.
Will definitely be back!

Loud, slow, over priced but with a lovely waitressing team. This restaurant is perfect for a quick drink overlooking a beautiful Chicago skyline but don’t wait out for much more. The restaurant is an essay in norm-core.

If you are looking for a restaurant that is on the Chicago River, then the Kitchen is worth a try. The cocktails were excellent and the service was exceptional. We decided that we would order a few of the shareable appetizers for our meal. We ordered the Roasted Beets appetizer and the Lamb Meatballs. Both were excellent. I would not recommend the fish tacos. They did not have a lot flavor. Basically they were over cooked breaded fish wrapped in a piece of lettuce with nothing else. I would go back to try some of their other shareable meals and for the drinks. Cool place.

We were celebrating our anniversary and found ourselves 30 minutes late due to crazy traffic. Despite this, we were still accommodated without attitude, with a lovely table and two celebratory glasses of Champagne. Well done, Kitchen. Added bonus, my salmon was EXCELLENT and I loved the shrimp hushpuppies. It's a beautiful restaurant with amazing views. Thanks for a great experience!

The only negative - the acoustics - we arrived at 12:30, party of 4, and it was almost impossible to speak with anyone except the person immediately next to you. And that person told me she'd switched to an outside seat the week prior when meeting a friend for a drink after work! Thanks

At 5:30 the restaurant did not have 3 items on the menu. Our drink order was not handled correctly and when new seating was requested to accommodate our reservation, as we were seated next to the kitchen, we were declined in a nearly empty restaurant. Having been at the Kitchen several times before, this was not a memorable experience as we were entertaining out of town business associates.

There was a giant rainstorm right as we came in and the restaurant was besieged with people moving inside. They did a nice job of managing seating while still seating their current customers. However the food came out at separate times, my waffles were cold and they were out of a lot of the menu. I’m not sure if it was just happenstance but i think you pay for the view, not the food.
