Overall okay, not wow but good.
Would return, keen team but overly attentive, asked if we would like to order too quickly and they could not judge requirements of customer.
Really lovely food, good menu choice and helpful staff.
I found it very hard to book a table with Open table as it came up that my party was too large ( 4 people! ). I presume there was a glitch in the system and I tried calling the Joiners, was put in a queue then when it was my turn, I was cut off!! VERY annoying! Anyway I persevered ( which many would not ) and had a lovely meal, the service was impeccable., food delicious and would definitely recommend.
Good food , local real ale (anarchy brewery) polite and friendly staff- winner all round
Good, although little things could have been better. Had to ask twice for vinegar. Blonde Beer ran out. Drinks took a while. But everybody is getting used to working under restrictions and allowances should be made.
Excellent service from arrival to leaving. Friendly staff. Fabulous food and great local real Alex. Highly recommend.
Friendly staff, working hard. Food was delicious. Enjoyed our visit.
Service was slow and staff inattentive. No Management presence, we could tell of, Only 1 working behind bar and bar was covered in dirty glasses. Cancelled 2nd booking we had made. Service and menu isn’t as we expected or have enjoyed previously.
Great food, service and very safe Covid measures in place
Friendly service, lovely food. Really warm welcome for dogs too.
This is one of my family’s favourite places. It was our choice to meet friends here, who were visiting the Northumberland coast for the first time. Fish and chips were delicious, desserts too and the service was excellent.
First visit and will be back. Good food, good service, lovely atmosphere, great location.
Seats weren’t very comfortable for elderly hard to get in and out of the booth
Good surroundings and ambience, food is good but not really gastro pub.
Delicious food, excellent service, lovely ambience.
A very friendly gastro pub in a lovely location full of birdsong. We enjoyed the starter gyozas and polished them off very quickly. Main courses were pretty good although fish crumble could do with some more seafood rather than just white fish. Loved the Malbec and were a bit too stuffed to make it to pud.
Short staffed so service not great Food was standard ‘pub’ grub but ok
The poorest I have found for service and food since I have been going and staying for at least 15 years.
Delicious relaxing lunch in the sunshine with excellent and friendly table service
Service was poor on this occasion compared to previous visits. Slow and seemed as if something had gone wrong behind the scenes. Bar was full of glasses, toilet area was full of used paper towels and had not been refilled. Waiter apologised but didn’t seem sincere.
Service was pretty slow considering not that busy.
The menu i thought was disappointing and very limited indeed.
the food that did come was very tasty.
We were wanting to eat ouitside but a little drafty so went inside...and it was cold inside also and draughty meaning i had to put my fleece on in June.
Greeted with politeness and a smile, extremely busy but gave us choice of inside or outside dining, quick service and good food enjoyed by all.
Food was OK although ordered a soup and never arrived. It was taken off the bill when we told them. Waiting time was far too long almost one hour after starters.
Lovely restaurant, welcoming and efficient service. Food is lovely quality and service is attentive. Lovely village setting- park in the free car park on the bend before entering the village.
The food was delicious both times we dined, however the first night the portions were huge and the second time the positions were much smaller.
The service was a little inconsistent, the first night we dined our empty plates weren’t taken for over half an hour and we got bored waiting so didn’t have dessert.
However, The second time we dined they were much quicker at service and clearing.
The food was ace and they were very obliging when I asked for a cocktail that wasn’t on the menu.
Would likely return though!
Very nice lunch: burger, steak, fish and chips and seafood crumble - all very good. Good service. Strange atmosphere as most of the tables inside were unoccupied.
Nice food spoilt by poor service. Slow. Polite but very very slow. And no, it wasn't very busy.
We felt that staffing levels could have been better as simple issues, such as clearing crockery after each course, were not satisfactorily achieved. The meals in general were reasonably good but spoiled by a lack of salad/vegetables. A lactose intolerant request not offered any substitutions of sauces. The overall impression was spoiled bearing in mind that a previous meal taken a few days before was much better.
While the staff were friendly and attentive, we found the menu choice disappointingly limited. Even with the reduced menu, the kitchen had run out of items when we went. 😟
really nice food and good service. would recommend burger and the jerked chicken kebab.
Lovely evening and great food.
We felt the food came out too fast between the courses.
We hardly put the fork down from the starter, plates still on the table and the main arrived
We were ihr within 1h
Had a wonderful evening at the joiners arms. Staff and food was perfect. Shout out to Alix who was checking if we were okay and was super accommodating. Highly recommend
Nice food and great service. Would definitely recommend!
If you want good food and a nice drink with very helpful staff then this place is perfect. We really enjoyed and well worth a visit.
I thought the Burger was over cooked and the bun a bit on the dry side. The was tomato ketchup served in sachets which I thought poor considering the cost of the meal. Desert was very good though!
We have been visiting the joiners for the last 6 years when holidaying. I was disappointed with the menu selection.
I understand that due to COVID they need to reduce the selection and streamline things, we checked the online menu before and it was different to what was available on the night
Delicious food and excellent service - can't wait till our next visit
Good meal, staff young but seemed to know their job. Good nice, fair value.
Second visit and did not disappoint. Fabulous veggie roast dinner and excellent staff. Will be returning on our next visit to Northumberland
A Sunday lunch to remember. A fabulous return to the Joiners with family. The roast beef was delicious, the sticky toffee pudding was to die for.
