The Ivy Soho Brasserie
Decorated with artworks inspired by Soho’s music scene, as well as William Blake (Broadwick’s most famous resident), the space is made up of a restaurant, bar, private dining room and terrace with Parisian-style seating. Open seven days a week, the modern British menu will be available from dawn till dusk for local workers, residents, shoppers and visitors to enjoy. Being located in Soho, the brasserie will have a DJ spinning music every Friday and Saturday from 7pm and on weekends during brunch until close.
The Ivy Soho Brasserie’s look and feel has been created by Martin Brudnizki Design Studio and notable features include an onyx bar, bronze pendant lighting, marble floor tiles, polished parquet and a mixture of burnt orange leather and velvet banquettes and bar stools.
Food excellent. Service ok.
The Ivy Soho Brasserie is an easy option, in a good location and it's an attractive restaurant, but the food was pretty average and the service ditto. I feel it's quite expensive for what you get. On the (Weds) night, we had a short wait for our table and were directed to the bar, but couldn't get served as the bar staff were so busy. We felt ignored, to be honest. There was also quite a wait for service when we got to our table and the wine we wanted was unavailable (with no alternative in the same price bracket). At the end of the evening, we were brought the bill without requesting it, which felt a little dismissive (it was late, but not chucking-out time!) On the upside, the cocktails were nice and the atmosphere buzzy.
I've been to the Marylebone Ivy Brasserie and that was a much nicer experience; it feels a lot more intimate and friendly than the somewhat cavernous Soho equivalent. I'd probably give the Soho one another try for its convenient location and ease of booking, but it isn't top of my list.
Chose this restaurant for pre theatre supper. The portions were a little small but it was good value overall. The service was a little slow to begin with... it took almost 30 mins before we got our drinks. All in all, good food and nice ambiance and would return. Convenient location to west end theatres
Family meal to celebrate our sons birthday , ambience ,staff and food were all excellent, highly recommend!
Simple food done well. Lively atmosphere. No brainer for a pleasant lunch or dinner.
Fantastic birthday lunch from start to finish.Elegant dining room, great buzzy atmosphere, excellent food and superlative service from Sinitta who looked after us superbly and made the afternoon special. Highly recommended, book early !
I ended up leaving before we had drinks or deserts at the end as I was so fed up trying to catch someones attention to get some service. Once there were two members of staff walking together talking and my colleague whom I was with tried to catch their attention and was told they were busy. There were two people stood by a doorway and the female member of staff noticed I was trying to catch her attention and she actually turned her back. There were so many staff walking around but all communicating with each other and NO attention to the tables. I had to get up and walk to the bar to ask if someone would bring the bill to us. I spoke to a manager who just said he was very sorry but still brought the bill over that included the £17 service charge. He didn't even offer anything as an apology - even a free coffee - when he could see it was pretty poor that none of his staff had the awareness to approach our table and see if we needed anything. It was not too busy at all by the time we were looking to have deserts and drinks. I had to ask for menus, and to get our drinks refilled. It was tedious and embarrassing as we were treating a client to dinner.
Lovely decor and ambience
Tables are VERY close together which is a but intrusive
Food is standard Ivy fare
Service was incredible, food was amazing and overall experience was just lovely.
My second time here and I really love it. The breakfast was suitably hearty and good value, unfortunately I racked up a bill on tea and coffee, spending more than the breakfast itself! For me, tea and coffee could be a little more modestly priced in this case but the tea is a most delicious blend.
We had a lovely meal, great wine and excellent service by Thasos. The ambience was just right and we really liked the atmosphere because there was music in the background which made the occasion feel more lively with just two of us dining. We will definitely return and bring more friends next time.
Celebrated my birthday there. Everything was alright, especially the atmosphere. Unfortunately we had a very rude waiter. He was telling us to hurry up when we were ordering because “its very busy”. We already knew what to order and it took maybe a minute so not a reasonable comment. Furthermore, i ordered a tomato basil side salad, yet there were 4 tiny (1cm long) Basil leaves and 7 halfs of cherry tomatoes. The plate was half empty considering the salad cost more than 4£. When I complained the waiter said this is standard and didn’t offer replacement. I ended up sending it back. Furthermore, my friend asked for a salad without any spice. The waiter argued there is no spice anyways but still agreed to request a salad without spice. She ended up with a salad full of chilli pieces. When complaining we weren’t offered replacement or compensation. Overall just very hectic and stressful, something you would not want for a Sunday brunch. In addition, heavily overpriced for the horrible service. They did provide a small birthday cake at the end with a candle, that was nice.
Great atmosphere, service and food! Would definitely recommend.
Lovely place and nice food, but the music was so loud!! It was really hard hearing what anyone around the table said.
I took my 80 year old parents to the Ivy for a meal. I am very familar with the brand and concept and have been to many of the restaurants. I see them as a traditional/ good quality brand. Upon arrival it seems they now have a live DJ playing in the restaurant, so loud that I thought I was in Ibiza. Totally inappropriate for a meal setting. We couldnt hold a conversation.
The service was slow, we sat down at 7.15pm but our food didnt arrive until 8.10pm.
One dish was cold. The rest were fine.
They had a problem with the plumbing and all the ladies toilets were not flushing!
Overall I feel the brand has gone down hill, there are much better alternatives and wont be rushing back. Its no longer a safe bet for a meal with parents.
The restaurant was beautiful a lovely ambience and tasty food. Unfortunately the service was so bad not the staff just the fact they don’t have enough employees working for the quantity of tables and people.
We waited 45 minutes for our starters and then had to kept asking for our missing drinks and then Mains. We also had to be somewhere afterwards so it ended being quite rushed and we were out for my mums birthday.
It could have just been a bad night as I’ve been to a ivy before and it was fab.
I have been to The Ivy on several occasions. This time the levels of service wasn't great but once I mentioned to the Manager they did improve. A very busy afternoon and great atmosphere.
The staff were very good and polite . We have been to several Ivy restaurants and rate this above Canary Wharf but below West Street which is our favourite and where we are going again next year
We have a lovely lunch and was seated at a corner table which was nice, the food was fantastic and atmosphere was great. The music was slightly loud but we did not mind this.
Really lovely place for a nice lunch. The service is impeccable and the food is always to a high standard.
Our waiter was incredibly nice and made the experience even more enjoyable!
Great dining experience, lovely food, freindly service lively atmosphere on a Saturday night.
A wonderful setting, we were slightly late and the restaurant accommodated with it. Food was absolutely superb and very high end. The service was brilliant, the staff were always on hand to serve our drinks and food and take orders. The cost was vary fair and definitely reflected the quality of food.
The only downside I could see what’s the music didn’t reflect the restaurant well. House music just doesn’t go in a venue like that. Just a thought thought.
Besides the music choice which we really didn’t mind may I add. It was a brilliant venue with impeccable food and service
We will be returning and I’ll be telling all my family and friends how amazing it is
We went for a joint birthday dinner with friends - great buzz and thought food was pretty good - great prawn cocktail and very generous portions and everyone enjoyed mains . Very well priced I thought (ie lots of mains around the £14/15 mark). Only niggle was service - waiters and staff all really friendly and helpful just felt not enough of them - eg bread arrived after starters, same with a couple of sides and often asking for top up of wine which was being kept cold somewhere on the other side of the room - but enjoyed and would go back
Lovely atmosphere as usual, service was pleasant and the food is always good. Will be back again!
All good but far too noisy. Could hardly to accross the table.
Service was very good if a bit naive (our waiter didn't know the menu very well eg insisting that the Lemon Sole couldn't be served on the bone).
For the most part the food was also good, but once again and across several branches, it seems their chefs can't cook Lemon Sole very well.
All three portions of ours were very overcooked and had the texture and taste of soggy cotton wool. A shame.
High end venue but did not live up to expectations mainly die to fact that we had to deal with very unprofessional behaviour from the Maitre D who made us feel very uncomfortable on several occasions by arriving at our table pressuring us in to vacate although we were still within our allocated time slot. We felt this was unbecoming of a supposedly high end establishment such as this and rather spoilt our evening. We will not be returning.
Food, although expertly prepared was cold and this let it down. Staff service however was very good which is why we paid the service charge. Overall though we felt the experience was poor.
Love the feel and look of this restaurant. The staff were excellent and the food very good. Good value for money. I will definitely return.
Our first visit for breakfast. It proved to be a relaxed leisurely experience with good service. Overall the food was average - no real bad points. At £55 for 2 November not especially cheap though fine for occasional breakfast out in a nice space. Cote Soho would be a cheaper option in the area.
Great place, fabulous food, friendly staff, vibrant atmosphere. Drinks were slower to arrive than expected, nobody minds waiting with a drink in hand. The food however was served quickly and efficiently. Not the biggest of portions but neatly presented with lovely flavour.
we had a bad experience. The food was late because of a delay in the kitchen. and once ready the whole tray was dropped aand all the meals had to be prepared again
A quick bit to eat at the bar whilst in town for early xmas shopping was well served by friendly waiters!
Thank you for always making my visits so memorable.
Loved it so much that we ended up moving to the bar after our reservation and stayed all night!
Even on a Wednesday night this place was jumping! Despite being rammed the service was slick and on point, we will be back very soon.
Our waiter was fantastic, Marin I think was his name ( sorry if it's spelled wrong!) He made the experience exceptional.
Maybe a bit big and impersonal for my liking but couldn't fault it for food and service.
Went for a lovely family dinner, a nice leisurely pace with tasty food and friendly service.
This was a pre theatre meal, the set menu was reasonably priced and the portions were not stingy at all. Drinks were well mixed and plenty of affordable wine options. well worth a visit
