The Ivy Harrogate
The Ivy Harrogate is the perfect spot to meet up with friends and family, entertain clients or just simply relax.
Refused to add a friend our table !
And for us to join another table
Not good enough or flexible enough
Sammy was excellent however and not her fault !
I would not say the food is outstanding for the value. Service was poor. There are better restaurants around at half the price.
Overall nice restaurant as all Ivy restaurants are..
Goid was good but nothing special..
Great evening out, lovely food and great service. I do feel that there were too many people crammed in to the restaurant and the noise level was loud - not energetic!
Lovely & friendly service, with amazing food, cannot fault anything.
Loved it the staff were amazing the food was great.only down side it felt a bit rushed other then that great
A perfect evening spent at The Ivy. Service and food were exceptional
Great menu and all very professional in delivering an excellent service.
This the 4th of the Ivy Cafe’s I’ve been to and as always the food was amazing and great value for money. Great atmosphere and service - I’ve scored down on value due to the price of the Prosecco!
Very nice. Staff friendly and the atmosphere was a happy one. Tea was lovely and presentation very good. Not a fan of plastic plants myself but the décor was fine. Slightly disappointed in the sandwiches. Chicken slightly dry on the chicken and truffle brioche bun. Cucumber sandwiches on very thick brioche - it was like a doorstep and so dry that I couldn't eat it. Two slices of cucumber on it but no other filling or butter made it very dry. The cakes were lovely - the donut was delicious but the jelly was very runny and a tiny bit sour and flower pot bit dry but chocolatey. Not a fan of service charges as I think it should be left to the client to decide if the service warrants it - in this case the staff were extremely attentive and not just polite but lovely and friendly.
So disappointed. We love the Ivy and have visited many times. This time the food was fabulous as always, but the service was shocking. Staff talking and doing nothing whilst we were kept waiting to order. Couldn’t get anybody’s attention to order more drinks. Our waiter disappeared and nobody was serving us. Then we are sitting next to an open door which was freezing and the wind was howling through. Staff also need to learn good to smile as it wasn’t friendly at all.
My favourite restaurant chain - and the one in Harrogate has got to be the friendliest, most accommodating one I've ever visited! We will be coming back for sure. Thanks for the warm welcome and great food. Never disappointed!
Very chaotic, food undercooked. Service haphazard.
Top quality service. Our host was exceptional and very attentive without being invasive. Very relaxed and enjoyable evening with lovely food to boot.
Staff was very nice, but the food was expensive for what really is
Fantastic experience, service and food were of the highest order and the ambience was nothing shy of perfection.
Just Great can’t think of any thing els to say , that would express my delight with The Ivy other than it was Great
Food was lovely. Felt a little rushed at the end and was asked to vacate our table. After 90 minutes. Which it does say when booking. We did sit at the bar and finished our after dinner coffees
Nice chilled out place to eat and meet friends.
Staff were really nice nothing to much trouble.
A lovely finish to a nice day out in Harrogate and a perfect return to restaurant dining! Thank you!
Excellent restaurant. Food very good. Nice environment
A good atmosphere and restaurant experience. A good number of staff were on hand and they were all attentive.
Perfect choice to celebrate my 50th with my parents. Cocktails and food all superb.
Ambiance great, staff and service impeccable. Although menu choice was limited food was fabulous.
Our 1st visit, we were outside and the whole experience was very memorable as it was our 27th wedding anniversary. We will be back soon.
Great food, very good ambience, service was ok, Malik was polite but no enthusiasm and turned his nose up and ignored our request for tap water, until we asked again 20 minutes later.
Considering this isn’t a cheap place to eat the service should match the food, but sadly it didn’t.
Really disappointing. Service was slow and unattentive - starters arrived before our first round of drinks and we had nearly finished mains by the time we offered wine or additional drinks, Food tasty but cold and the fairly constant emptying of the bottle bins below us completely ruined the meal. Would strongly suggest you book elsewhere.
Was nice for a one off experience..was given a very low table to dine at which was not the best when trying to eat .
Service was excellent the food was mediocre and my fish dish was tasteless.
Overall it was ok, service a bit lack lustre, drinks waiter no engagement or personal touch and same goes for main waiter. Perhaps they just need a bit more experience, appreciate the restaurant was busy. Starters were tasty but my Scallops were tepid at best, wife's Pate was excellent. No checkback during starters. Mains were very good, Cod special and Sirloin Steak, we did get a checkback but it was rushed and more of an afterthought really. I guess whole service experience was summed up when a pastry with a candle on was plonked down in front of my wife, it said Happy Birthday on it, it was actually our 10 year wedding anniversary, something which staff acknowledged when we first arrived. So for me it just lacked that attention to detail on the finer points of service, it was a bit sharp and too fast. It was not quite the fine dining experience we were expecting but there were some positives so it's possible we might visit again but with much different expectations. Couple of other points to note, Wine list is good, writing on menus very small and bench seating uncomfortable.
Our waiter wasn’t the friendliest and he did drop a couple of things. Splashed on us but no apology. Was my girl’s birthday but I had to remind him to bring the small cake/candle. Not what you expect. Food was lovely though.
Having booked for our 40th Wedding Anniversary, we were pleased to be given a complementary chocolate pastry at the end of our meal, however with total disappointment the pastry was not fresh, it was dry and inedible.! which we both left. So what was suppose to be a complementary dish from the chef spoiled our experience with the Ivy.
I booked online. In the special requests box I mentioned that it was my 60th birthday and requested that a half bottle of champagne be available for my wife and I at the bar to drink before we were seated, we would arrive 30 mins before our table time.
The maitre de at the door found our booking when we arrived; when I mentioned that a special request was on my booking he clearly pretended that he was aware of it and that it was all in hand, smoothly delivered BS, he had no clue. At the bar they had no idea of the request either (they don't do half bottles anyway), so we had some lovely cocktails instead. Not a huge problem, but the BS factor upon arrival was irksome.
Bar staff were excellent as were all of the staff we encountered during lunch. The young waitress who looked after us for most of the time was outstanding for one so young and probably new to the craft.
The food was all excellent, however, the 'turbot' I ordered (it was a special) was very definitely not turbot, it was clearly medium sized sole on the bone (which is on the menu and I've had it before); I cook a lot of fresh fish and I know the difference, it was very obviously not a portion from a large turbot and no sane restaurant would buy small single portion whole turbot. I didn't mention it because lunch was otherwise lovely, I didn't want to wait for something else if I sent it back, or risk being fed some more flannel that would spoil the overall experience.
We enjoy The Ivy experience in the main. The ambiance is excellent, the staff training almost invariably delivers service that is a cut above almost everywhere in Harrogate and York. The food is very good, on a par with most of the better restaurants in our area.
Just refine out the BS factor ..... the fish swop was actually really annoying.
A great venue, beautifully decorated and fabulous food. Attentive friendly service too.
Good food. Excellent service. Nicely decorated with pleasant environment.
No complaints and highly recommended
Beautiful restaurant. Fantastic food . Lovely staff . Must go place to eat in Harrogate.
Great service, food, ambiance! Our waiter was especially charming and helpful.
Celebrating wedding anniversary!
Lovely evening at The Ivy Harrogate for my birthday.
Very busy for a Wednesday so would alway recommend booking.

Really good food! On the expensive side but definitely with it!
