The Ivy Royal Tunbridge Wells
Located on the bustling High Street of Royal Tunbridge Wells, the restaurant makes for an ideal spot to enjoy an accessible all-encompassing menu, serving British classics from dawn until dusk, including breakfast, elevenses, weekend brunch, lunch, afternoon tea, light snacks, dinner and cocktails.
This used to be a regular haunt but sadly has lost something. We had to wait an hour for our food to arrive. They need to have more waiting staff in the left hand dining room as it always difficult to get served quickly in that area. Sadly I think it will be a while before trying there again.
A warm, welcoming atmosphere, good service and excellent food
Initial appearance had a wow factor which set the scene for the whole evening. The food was so tasty and looked beautiful. Loved the music and jazzy theme. The wine was exquisite and perfectly chilled too.
A pleasant lunch in a relaxed environment. Excellent, attentive service.
All was as excellent as ever, other than the service was a little slow, particularly the topping up of our white wine, which was situated remotely from our table
Very cosy, well appointed restaurant. Attentive, but not overbearing service. Good portions of well prepared and presented food.
Amazing food and service - couldn’t really fault the ivy at all.
A fantastic experience, good food and ambience made for a lovely evening with friends. The restaurant was a little noisy at times, but this was infrequent and was to be expected given the busy nature of the evening. A first class experience, we’ll be back!
Lovely staff, food/drink in a lovely setting. We have been to two other Ivy restaurants in London. All of them are great. On this occasion we took my mother in law for her birthday.
First visit and a very positive one. A lovely ambience and great service. There were four of us and we all had different dishes - all were declared delicious! The food was reasonably priced but we spent a lot on wine and pre-dinner drinks (our choice of course!). Will definitely return next time we have a celebration.
Fabulous as usual. Very high standard across the board
Lovely girlie lunch with one of my favourite people. It felt like a real treat and my guest loved it. Our coats were taken on arrival; which was great as it was amply warm in the restaurant. We waited a while for our food, but were quite happy to do so. I had the vegetarian shepherds pie and my guest had the duck salad and they did her a larger portion as a main. Very accommodating. There are local pubs that charge these prices, but they just don't compare to this lovely experience. Definitley a new favourite place.
Celebrated my wife's 89th birthday She and all concerned had a very enjoyable time Great food and wine Staff very kind and attentive Larger print on the menu needed Our favourite TW restaurant Will be back.
Delicious dinner as always for my mums birthday. Great table for the 5 of us. As we werent having a pudding a lovely desert was brought out for my mum with a candle which was a very nice gesture. Will definitely be going back.
Normally I find The Ivy outstanding and so purchased vouchers for my mum and sister for Christmas. Unfortunately, they did not have the experience I had hoped for and I was disappointed. On this occasion, I felt we were not allocated a waiter and so after 15 minutes of staff walking past our table with no acknowledgement, we had to ask to order drinks. I then had to get up and find a member of staff to take a food order after almost 30 minutes of waiting. Staff were grouped together chatting by the bar while we were trying to catch their attention to be served. This is very unlike any service I’ve received here before so I hope it was just an ‘off day’.
I had the Crispy Duck and Watermelon starter - always a favourite of mine - but found the Duck a little too hard and solid. Almost like those bacon bits you buy already processed rather than being fresh. I know it's supposed to be "crispy" but not solid.
Everything else was wonderful especially the parmesan & truffle fries. Lovely to see an effort made for Vegetarians as well.
Fab food, fab service, lovely evening!
I must admit not as good as previously. Food still lovely, service a little hit and miss, couldn't understand the waiter and the menus are printed so light and so small, with the lighting, very hard to read. Still quite buzzy and busy as the night wore on.
Another repeat visit, and the quality of food has not faltered. Excellent in all areas. Attentive staff well trained to make the dining experience pleasant for all.
It's regularly very busy and therefore fairly noisy, but the tables are not so big that you can't hear others talk.
I'd very much recommend the duck (or sometimes monkfish) curry. Delicious.
We will undoubtedly come again.
Great atmosphere for celebrating a special occasion.
Food was not the best on this occasion
Staff are always attentive and food too nice so much Choi
Food was lovely and the service exceptional, however it could be quite expensive.
Given a tiny table wedged between 2 other groups. Asked to move which they did for us. Took 15 mins for waitress to ask if we wanted a drink. Starter arrived ok. Bottle of prosecco was in an ice bucket away from our table so we had to ask every time we wanted a drink top up. An hour after we had finished the starter and main hadn’t arrived. We questioned it. Lots of kerfuffling by staff but I think the bottom line was that they had forgotten us or the waitress, who didn’t seem totally with it, had messed up our order. Main arrived an hour and a half after arriving by which point our bottle of prosecco was finished. We were offered 2 glasses of prosecco to have with our main which never arrived. Asked waitress twice but she just said bar was busy (it wasn’t! They were drying glasses with dish cloths behind the bar). We gave up and put our coats on. Complained about shocking service and mains and service were discounted. Would rather have enjoyed the experience though, especially as it was my friend’s first time in T Wells and a special occasion. We’ve had good experiences with you in the past so I’ll put this down to a one off - I hope.
We were very disappointed with our greeting. We were 5 minutes early and our table wasn't ready, there
was no apology or pleasantries, just an instruction to wait where there was a gap at the bar.
There were four of us and three main dishes were bought to the table well before the third, two of us had Tuna which was lukewarm by the time we got to eat it.
This would not happen at The Ivy, West Street. This was a special occasion for us and our friends and we
Fantastic food, great veggie and vegan options. The staff were also wonderful and friendly. Really nice evening and would absolutely go back. We went on Valentines day and with our bill we got little heart shaped chocolates which was a nice touch.
Great dining and good food service and ambience . Always a pleasure
This was our first visit and we will definitely come again. The service was very good, friendly but professional and the food also very good. We were pleased with the choice available, despite it being Valentine's Day as some restaurants offer a more limited, set menu on such occasions.
Only slight niggle is that the tables are very close together!
We had an excellent meal, the service was good, the waitress was cheerful and pleasant. The starter was delicious. My steak was well hung and correctly cooked according to my instructions. The desert was superb.
A very pleasant experience but only for an occasion as it is pricey.
Nice setting with good food. Would certainly recommend breakfast/brunch.
The food was incredible. The smoked scallops were outstanding as was the yellow fin tuna and mango salsa! Our table was served by a very professional yet welcoming member of staff. One of the best nights I’ve had at The Ivy!
A great welcome as always, good food and vibrant atmosphere, The manager Marius Nae is a real treasure the place runs so smoothly when he is present. Well done The Ivy keep it up !
Great food and cocktails easy
The Ivy delivered great service and food as always, something for everyone on the menu and everything delicious. They are always so pleasant and helpful, it still feels like a special place to eat unlike a lot of other restaurants.
Another lovely meal, my wife and I were treating my parents to lunch as a late Christmas present as we really enjoy The Ivy. Charging £3.50 for bacon on my burger was rather high though!
Wonderful lunch in gorgeous surroundings. Highly recommend
The food is fantastic, even the bread is out of this world! The wine is quite expensive but the food is well priced, the service is excellent and the general ambience is perfect for the restaurant.
Absolutely impeccable as always amazing.
This is one of the best lunches I have had
A truly divine and delicious dining experience. Thank you.
It was a delight x value for money and a lovely place to meet a friend x
