Great service, great food, wonderful Sunday Brunch!
Excellent in all respects
Out of almost everything on menu on a Sunday night. We have had great experiences here in the past. This was not one of them!
Still using disposable plates and plastic cutlery. Service was aloof. We will wait a while before returning. Not worth the price!!
We have loved The Inn for years and this was our first return since COVID. We have been to a couple of other restaurants and the safety precautions at The Inn were the best I have seen. They were extremely diligent. Thankfully, that did not take away at all from the food, service or ambiance which were all still lovely. The Inn remains a favorite!
Great experience again and again. Subpurb food and all around great experience.
the rolls were old
the food was cold
the service was slow
As always, attentive service and delicious food. These are trying times and with outdoor dining becoming the new norm, there are a few small kinks for the Inn to get ironed out. Need outdoor umbrellas. Short of that, a true gem!
Food was good. The crispy salmon sushi and burrata with strawberry compote were so delicious. Service was pleasant and attentive. Atmosphere was lovely and we sat outside. It a bit awkward with all the food being served in takeaway boxes.
The styrofoam serving plates were a bit too much since you were already giving us plates it didn’t really make much sense.
Big fan of Jean Georges but this was so disappointing. Their COVID solution is to serve everything in the packaging that they deliver the food in. So it feels a little like ur eating in a nicer McDonald’s. The waiters were trying to make the best of it , but it was one of the saddest dining experiences I’ve had to date. I couldn’t finish the meal fast enough.
I won’t return until it’s back to the way it was. It felt Ike I was eating rice dive fast food.
Sorry, but so depressed from the experience.
Maitre D seated us two women outside which we had requested at a table hit by the glaring hot sun.
We asked to be moved and were.
funny last time pre Covid we ate there we were seated inside at a table that had water that dropped down every so often from the AC we asked to be moved
One could begin to have the feeling that they seat two 60 plus aged women thusly
BOTH times we had reservations
This last time ( birthday occasion for my partner) I’d explicitly requested outside as clearly between Covid and the summer and the overall setting ( really lovely) this restaurant affords it made sense— maitre d said we hadn’t but that he had a cancellation and could therefore seat us outside but not after making us wrong, and instructing us on how to make sure it was a reservation for outside in the future — might I add here there was indeed an open two top or two in the outside area but he chose to seat us at a table specifically with the sun beating down- our waiter was lovely about this and had us moved- whole thing a drag — involved stairs etc ....food not great. Terribly disappointing experience. Again Waiters lovely! Price point fairly ridiculous at this point for what one is getting.
Excellent service given constraints of COVID-19. MD was very helpful at the door to select a table where my family felt they could dine safely. Server was knowledgable about menu items, sold us a "corn pudding" that featured seasonal summer produce and a wonderfully cooked cut of salmon. Service flowed organically from viewing the menu on your cell phone, to bread service, to an appetizer course, to entrees, to dessert. For a 1:30 seating of Saturday brunch (peak hour for weekend service) the environment was relaxed and comforting. Bartender was efficient in putting out drinks for the dining room, and made us a lovely basil, jalapeño mezcal cocktail for our final round when we requested a bartender's choice concoction. Everyone in my party had previous experience dining at a Jean-Georges restaurant which facilitated the flow of service, however the wonderful staff and management brought our experience to the next level. I can safely say that while we were all anxious about dining out after 4 months of social isolation that the team the Inn at Pound Ridge made us feel at home, welcomed as guests per the JG hospitality brand. Five stars does not capture the excellent service we received.
The Matrie D and wait staff were a shining example of professionalism. They took incredible care of the patrons in making sure they felt comfortable both with the oppressive heat and the dining experience in the age of covid. They were incredibly courteous about where they sat us and how they interacted. JG always brings it but their staff deserves an extra round of applause for how they are handling this brave new world.
Appreciate very much the CoVid food presentation, but it was very strange not to have the meal brought out on plates.
It was so nice to go back to PR Inn and have the delicious food
The Inn took great measures to insure everyone's safety during their opening during the pandemic. We had a very enjoyable night out - our first in 4 months.
Not the same, no house made bread, kale salad portion getting smaller and smaller, but it’s clean and good quality ingredients.
Way too overpriced for a box lunch being served for dinner.
They continue to produce amazing quality and taste in a new COVID-inflicted environment. Our thanks for allowing us to enjoy a special meal in a beautiful outside setting - and especially to the staff for their friendly and welcoming style and demeanor. We always love our time at the Inn.
This was our first time back with the restaurant open and we were impressed with the thoughtfulness of the set-up and service in this crazy 'new normal' that we are living in. Despite having our meals served in covered to go containers, the evening still felt special like an evening at the Inn should. In addition, we felt welcomed back and appreciated for our patronage. We are so excited to have them back- the food was amazing as always!!
Disappointed that food was served in takeout containers !
Food and drinks were a plus
While the food was great, and our waiter was good, there is a tremendous amount lost in the way business is now being done. I respect the fact they’ve opened for us to enjoy their food all over again, but paying the same price for this restaurant (when it is now just about the food) as we used to pay (when it was more than just about the food; it was an experience) reminds me of how far we have fallen.
Thoroughly enjoyable. Food was simple by Jean-George standards but was delicious. Service was delightful and the terrace is lovely. We will be back.
Outdoor space was awesome and they did a great job in the COVID age of keeping tables far apart and everything super sterile (napkins and silverware in plastic and all food in disposable dishes). Food was great!
Disappointing mostly due to the risk of covid19 a situation out of their control.
I was a regular customer before and loved going to the Inn with friends.
I will not be going back till the Risk of virus is gone. too much money for a dinner that was stressful.
I am very sorry for the Inn I hope things get better soon.
Honestly it was pretty disappointing. It was one of our first meals out since things have opened up. We were very excited and have been to the restaurant many times. They served us on paper plates which came covered like take out. I’m not sure why they needed to do that. To pay the prices we were paying and be served take out food which was very mediocre was not what we expected.
I thought the food was not as good as it usually is, especially the truffle pizza which is one of our favorites. It was a bit greasy and too much cheese and too much truffle oil. It is usually perfect.
A lovely experience, particularly given challenging times.
We had a lovely evening. They did a very good job of making us feel comfortable.
I loved the crab meat on crostini appetizer.
For our main course my husband and I both ordered the parmesan chicken with artichokes. I love how they cut the artichoke hearts. The sauce it comes in is delicious. I would definitely go back and order the same items
I don't ordinarily order dessert but I did and it was their very good caramel ice cream with popcorn sundae.
The waiter and servers were very professional. Thank you for a very pleasant experience
French toast was very good. Pancakes were raw inside. Nothing special as for the food. Service ok. Prices were extremely high and not worth the food.
Lovely place, lovely cab by the glass too. Tuna burger lacked taste and was quite dry with that bun, burger my friend has was middling too, beautiful space, nice service, our app was a crunchy tuna sushi thing. That was good.
Great ambience and even better food. Great to celebrate special occasions
Excellent service, delicious food, wine list has excellent choices as well. I highly recommend.
My son and I had a fabulous dinner. The food was perfection- as was the service. For me, the key is to eat during an earlier reservation while the staff is still fresh rather than rushed. The mushroom crusted salmon entree is my new favorite!
We had a 9:15 reservation on a Saturday night for 6 people. we waited a brief amount of time, just long enough to order a drink at the bar. We were seated at a round table on the lower level that was a perfect size with plenty of room. The lower level has more discrete seating areas and feels a little more intimate than the main dining room on the first floor.
The food and service were perfect, everyone enjoyed the meal immensely. The only hiccup was not having the wine we originally ordered, which was then substituted by a wonderful bottle of red wine from northern California.
The downstairs is always a very cozy and welcoming environment. Great service and the food as amazing as always. The Inn at Pound Ridge is a great place for any formal occasion.
Wonderful restaurant - shrimp salad is a must have!!!
Always a favorite spot! Great food, great ambiance!
