Went for my wife’s birthday with the kids. As always, excellent food, service and a beautiful setting. Will continue coming back.
Once again a great dinner. Thanksgiving was over, the kids and grandkids were back in the City and it was snowing. A perfect time to head to the Inn.
Our only complaint? It seemed like everything was a tad salty: this included the escarole/apple salad, the sea bass and the monkfish (granted, spinach usually requires salt). Still a very enjoyable time and kudos to the staff for braving the weather.
Beautiful restaurant!
I asked for a well done burger and still had to send it back. We arrived right on time but were made to wait 15 minutes because the servers weren’t yet ready. We were the first customers but they didn’t have the salmon listed on the menu. They also ran out of mint teY
Amazing, as always!!!
ALWEAYS ENJOY DINING AT THE iNN OF POUND RIDGE . HAVE NEVER BEEN DISAPOINTED
It took 45 minutes to get 6 beverages, a the 1 hour point asked for the bread basket, which took another 10 minutes to arrive, 45 minutes later our meal arrived. Short staffed. No on knew how to connect the beer kegs. Bathroom was out of towels and on a 2nd visit out of kleenex. Mentioned all to the person in charge and they said sorry. Poor excuse. All of which left me wondering why I had looked forward to eating there.
The experience would have been excellent if it was not for the inferior aesthetic presentation of the entrees
Amazing food and service
Understating that dining out on a big holiday it’s hard to get everything right, the Inn managed to get very little right. Had a 4:15 reservation; waited 45 minutes to be seated. Multiple excuses, then they seated us downstairs in a bar alcove.
Had to go make a fuss and got moved to a table upstairs by the fireplace. Hummm, why wasn’t that table available 5 minutes earlier?
We were told they’d make it up to us throughout the evening, they sent an extra appetizer. Would have preferred a cocktail. Finally, considering the price point, the food was a huge disappointment. The butternut squash soup was mediocre, the pork chop was thick, encased in burnt prosciutto, and chewy. Not the first time the Inn has missed the mark. Thinking twice before dining there again.
This was way overpriced and very average food There was nothing special or interesting about it Not usual inn quality Very disappointed Won’t do a special meal there again
Busy day so understand several different folks servicing our table but much prefer dealing with one person .
The service was excellent. The food was a mixed bag. Mainly, my entree was lukewarm and so was my cappuccino. The others in my party enjoyed their meals and mine was very good, just not hot. I will go back
Great calamari
Made to feel very uncomfortable by bartender who was clearly having a bad day.
A beautiful restaurant and the staff was outstanding. Looking forward to our next visit.
The food is always amazing
The service is lacking
Lovely space and lighting. Regarding the service, the Main waitress was delightful, friendly, attentive and helpful with the menu, while the attendant in charge of bringing and removing plates was quite brusk talking to us and with her handling of dishes. Regarding the food, the hummus and butternut squash soup were excellent but the salads (chicory, apples and Gorgonzola) were average at most; the main courses we ordered (monkfish and sesame crusted salmon) were decent but we expected much more. Desserts were a mixed bag: the apple tart was not warm enough while the warm pear was very tasty. We came from Manhattan to celebrate a birthday expecting more from this meal.
Out Anniversary
Have been multiple times for lunch. Food is uninspired compared to any other Jean George restaurant. I would go to Nougatine anytime over the Inn. Always leave feeling it was pleasant enough, but the food makes the balance in value drop to a low point for JG.
We have been going to the Inn since it opened. The foods is delicious, apps are better than main courses. But, every time we go there is some glitch in the food service. The other night we waited at least 15-20 for our apps- soup and the crispy salmon. Our waitress who was lovely said there was a issue in the kitchen and the order did not get processed. This has happened to us at least 50% of the times we have dined here. Perhaps the restaurant is too large for the size of the kitchen? Not sure what the problem, but the food is pricey and Jean Georges is an acclaimed chef. They need to do better. Plus to make matters worse, my leftovers- half of my chicken dinner and mashed potatoes were gone when I gave the hostess my claim check number for it! I get not wanting to see unsightly leftover bags at the table, but would have preferred to have my food that I paid for.
Birthday. They brought a delicious chocolate cupcake w a candle to the table after the entrees. No noisy singing, very nicely done. Perfect coda to the evening.
Love dinner in the lounge = special setting, incredible courses, and a team which is extended family. Thanks to everyone at The Inn for the best of everything.
Great food and service.
We usually love this place, but our last visit was a doozie. Service was slow and inattentive. And our food was so-so, as well.
We went for brunch and between the three of us ordered the burger, omelette and avocado toast. The burger was overcooked and the omelette was lacking flavor. The avocado toast was exactly as you would expect, but nothing special so to speak.
My wife’s birthday
We expected more from a Jean-Georges restaurant.
Birthday brunch
We had to wait over twenty minutes for a table and settled for a table in a different area than what we requested because it was so late. Dinner was delicious! We loved everything! But we had put on our reservation that it was our anniversary and no one acknowledged that or celebrated that in any way. That was sad because we watched everyone near us with complimentary celebratory desserts. Very disappointing
Odd service when we went. Took the bottle of wine away to open. Delayed water refills, delays between checks on the table. Maybe an off day?
Always a fun experience and the food is always very good. The service is a little "choppy", but the ambience and good food tends to overcompensate.
Best restaurant in Westchester
Date night with my husband. Always a perfect experience!
Lovely choice for those of us who eat food and atmosphere equally. Beautiful space and delicious cuisine. ...though next time I'll choose a different night than Saturday when the hard working staff is stretched to the limit.
The ambiance was a strange combination of rustic and urban informal sophistication; not to imply it was unpleasant. The food was amazing. The staff was large and very well organized. They did not rush us but they seemed rushed.
The restuarant was nice. Food was ok. We signed up through OpenTable for restaurant week. We wanted to try a different restuarant. However, they did not honor the restuarant week promotion. We were told restuarant week was over the previous day and its only for lunch. I wish we were notified of this prior to booking the appointment. We spent over $200, which was fine, if I knew I was going to spend $200+. Not sure if the problem exists with OpenTable or the restuarant. We would just like to be informed prior to driving 40 minutes away. Clarity is very important. Note. Check with restuarant prior to booking.
The service was exquisite. Sometimes that is more important than the food but here, the food was also excellent. So refreshing to eat somewhere in Westchester that has good food AND service. We will be back soon.
The atmosphere is country casual. There were several families with young (well-behaved) children under the age of 7 during weekend brunch. The food was delicious, and the service could not have been better.
Restaurant Week was not honored for Saturday lunch despite the fact we were able to reserve a Saturday lunch Restaurant Week reservation using OpenTable.
Food was incredible, staff was incredibly friendly and went out of their way to make the entire experience top-notch. Will definitely be returning.
P.S. Try the Tuna Tartare!
