The Heritage Wine Bar Ratings and Reviews
Our group finally was 4 so the booked round table was changed for a more chat friendly one.Our 2 waiters could not have been more helpful and catered to our every need.We were not hurried and spent from 12.30 til15.10 enjoying our get together and the delicious food and drink.A lovely experience and not my first at this venue. Thanks.
The food and service was exceptional, very courteous and efficient floor staff. Fantastic selection of wines. Place gets 'noisy' when it is filled up, but who cares after few bottles of wine. The price is on the high side, but you pretty much know that from beginning - not a surprise.
Heritage was highly recommended by Rob Broadfield so we had high hopes. The food and value were very good but the service was very off-hand and unfriendly. There was no "welcome" and no "goodbye". We liked the idea that all wines were available by the glass but there were very few wines at the more affordable end of the scale.
A really authentic french bistro experience - beautiful charcuterie and fromage but with the bonus of inventive mains and small plates. The herb crepe with whitebait was brilliant. Great wine list. Service was a bit patchy and it was rather noisy once all tables were occupied.
I attended with a work group and it was great value for money - $25 for a main meal lunch (3 choices) and a wine. I don't drink wine and asked if they could swap my wine for a vodka lime and soda and I pay the difference. They said no, so I paid full price for my drink but I don't think they put any vodka in it (I asked others at the table to try it and they didn't think it had vodka in it either). They didn't serve me the wine with my meal which I could have given to a friend. I then purchased a second vodka lime and soda after my meal and it definitely had vodka in it, by comparison. The burger and chips was delicious, except I asked for no onions because of my dietary intolerances and it came out with a big pile of onion on the meat patty, even when the waiter said there was no onion. I picked it all off so it wasn't a huge drama. The venue is lovely, great ambience, central location.
The waitstaff were incredibly attentive and helpful without being pushy. They all had an amazing knowledge of the many wines and the food. The suggested wines were amazing (but not cheap) and tge food was absolutely divine. Don't be intimidated by the menu. Everything was delicious and the staff were able to explain every component to us when we asked. Tapas style share plates are the general theme. All are amazing and complement each other. We had a lovely relaxed evening. Great food, great wine and seriously awesome staff. Hoghly recommend.
Several items on the menu were not available. And several wines on the wine list were not available. On both counts--food and wine--we (party of 4) had to settle for second and third choices. To top it off, the restaurant charged us a surcharge on our credit card. Overall a disappointing experience. We will not be returning, and have recommended to others to give this restaurant a wide berth.
Overall, a pleasant evening. It was a Saturday night so fairly busy as expected and a nice vibe. This may have been the reason that the service at times was slow. Other than that aspect, the service was professional and the staff knowledgeable.
Food was good but the main of lamb was smaller than expected. A great wine selection and many available by the glass.
For the price and portion size - far too pricey. The speed by which the service was provided could've increased so the feeling of hunger didn't set in. Taste wise - the quality was good and some interesting flavours emerged. From an experience of menu taste - it was worth it. the ambience was a little flat partly due to there being not many people in the restaurant.
We as a group of ladies liked that the music wasn't blurring very loud, we could talk well. But we thought that the place would need some classical music on the background, when we were there some rap music was been played, that didn't match with the chacarter of the place.
Staff were very helpful and friendly.
We ordered the oysters, quail and Arkady lamb. The oysters were the best part of our meal. They were fresh and left us wanting more. Thought that the quail meal would have offered more on the plate as it was a medium sized meal according to the staff. There was also no burnt orange of any sort on the plate but was mentioned on the menu. The meat was lovely however not the best as it was a bit dry.
Overall the dishes need more on the plate to compliment the price that you are paying.
Very disappointing evening. Really enjoyed the prior visit when they had the winter menu, hence the return visit. The focus is now not on a restaurant styled experience, but drinking. Serving size was small (4 sprigs of asparagus for $14 was the worst) with limited choice and a 90 minute wait for our mains.
A little disappointed with the restaurant overall. Two of our menu choices were 'unavailable', another option was substituted however it wasn't so great. Wait staff were friendly and accommodating, but the ambience, tired menu, our food choices being 'out of stock' just left us feeling underwhelmed. Might be ok for a business lunch but skip it completely for dinner.
