Fantastic meal. Delicious food in a lovely setting. Will return.
Food was cooked to perfection and a good set choice on the menu, bery happy.
Fantastic food in a wonderful environment with great service, a complete treat and full of delightful surprises and presented with high artistic skill. Can’t recommend it highly enough. It was perfect in every way.
Fantastic dinner & very good customer service very lovely surroundings
Lovely birthday surprise for other half - and it went down a treat!! Lovely food and friendly staff. Will definitely be visiting again!!
Outstanding delicious food, just the right amount of choice from the 3 course menu to suit any taste.
Service was excellent from the young welsh waitors/waitresses.
Diolch yn fawr am bryd o fwyd hyfryd. Lle braf gydag awyrgylch braf a chroesawgar.
Diolch for a lovely meal. Great restaurant with a welcoming atmosphere. Will be returning.
we dine here quite often because of Chef Dan's great food, the nice relaxing ambience and Manager Paula's lovely welcome and friendliness.
as usual we were not disappointed!
I had scallops, perfectly cooked! welsh beef, which melted in the mouth, and the pear dessert which is one the nicest desserts I have had there.
we'll be back!
Great room to dine in, quirky and different. Our food was fantastically cooked and timing inbetween courses was good.If anything A little more training for the young staff..eg, didn’t open our wine or offer us to taste, didn’t pour our water, just little things but noticeable. However lovely and polite👍
Loved the food, only thing I could say is i found the starter menu bit limited however the starter I did have was excellent in line with all the other courses
We love the Gun Room but do not like the latest "policy" which seems to be to sit people in what used to be the bar area. It does not give the same ambience as the other eating area which now seems to be used for breakfast. What used to be a romantic setting is now just a place to eat good food.
Welcome straight from the door, local friendly staff. Property still had alot of original belongings of the Armstron Jones family. Gun room a lovely ambience . Food was amazing as well as service, well worth the visit will return in the summer.
Had a lovely evening in The Gunroom for my wife and i’s anniversary.
As usual the food is exceptional from chef Dan and his team, and Ferdinand and the rest of the staff looked after us very well.
All ready booked for the next visit!
Fantastic experience and fabulous food. Would highly recommend.
Beautiful setting!Felt very Christmasy with the open fire and the lovely Christmas tree!Service was good and the Welsh waitress who served us was excellent!Food was delicious and overall a lovely special experience. Will be back for the cream tea!Diolch yn fawr!
Welcome over enthusiastic - did we want a drink before our coats were hung up! Music an annoyance but charming young waiter turned down with a smile. Fish disappointing (used to good fish shops and wholesalers inPwllheli) but beef excellent. Husband said chips to die for! Plate for starter wierd but terrine good. OverallI shall go again and have already booked but they need to get their act together if they want to give other local fine dining venues a run for their money!!
What a lovely place. We were treated as VIP’s from the moment we walked in. The food was excellent. Nothing to fault. We have booked to go again next Christmas.
Lovely surrounding, lovely Christmas decorations and open log fire.
Fantastic welcome from the staff, great food, some of the best in the area.
Looking forward to returning!
Superb food, great atmosphere and first class service, what mor could anyone ask for
lovely place, lovely setting, wonderful food, nice complementary mini courses in between dinner courses. Service was very good, a very nice candle lit dinner
From the minute we stepped in to moment we left, the service was excellent, atmosphere, staff and most of all the food, highly recommend and would definitely go back again, soon I hope.
Wow! Absolutely stunning ! Smokies to start. Then Beef. Then the Blackberry Crumble.
All three courses were perfect.
We are regulars at Plas Dinas. Had not tried the Crumble before. Will have it next time definitely.
The staff were attentive at all times. The little extras were a treat, especially the Veloute. Not as many canapés as usual- more next time please!
Thank you all for a perfect evening.
Booked online on a Saturday evening which was extremely busy.Told when we arrived that we were on a re-sit table, which was perfectly acceptable. Were kept waiting for ages for our pre dinner drink and waiting a long time to be seated at our table. The food was fine, but we missed out on the sorbet,as the waiter forgot!
I think the new owner needs to realise that when trying to cram people in,he needs seats to sit them down, and the kitchen can only dish out so many dishes. The establishment may well have been trying to make up for a quiet week, but standards can not be compromised,as locals like ourselves will not keep supporting. We will return, but hope that things will be back to the excellent standard previously enjoyed.
The whole process for the evening meal was well planned with all patrons meeting for drinks prior to being escorted in. The service, food and ambience was first class
Beautiful house, very warm welcome, great service and exceptional food.
Sadly despite really looking forward to a lovely evening with family for my birthday I was rather disappointed. To begin with we were given the wrong menu and everything I’d chosen was unfortunately on an old menu so wasn’t available.
We were served drinks with ice when we’d specifically requested none. We had to ‘ask’ for the wine list & as we were having fish to start we’d chosen a white wine to accompany it. Unfortunately by the time the waiter came back to the table to allow us to order we’d finished the fish so just ordered a bottle of red to accompany our main course. The staff were not attentive & we were left without drinks for long periods. Service was very slow and I don’t think that there were enough staff to cater for the number of guests that evening.
We had intended returning with friends however the poor service has put us off.
The food was delicious and the venue is beautiful. Such a shame.
As usual, chef Dan and his team produced fantastic tasting food, from the Smokie for stater, and the Welsh beef and the guinea fowl for our mains, and all the bits in between.
Fantastic, we’ll be back next month to sample November’s menu.
Ferdinando and his team also looked after us very well,
And as usual the Gun room at Plas Dinas provided a fantastic relaxed start to the weekend.
No one took the wine order until we mentioned it, and then we had to remind the waiter when the wine didn’t arrive! Aperitif glasses left uncollected throughout the meal.
However, food was fine, if not exceptional, and atmosphere was conducive.
Excellent meal and terrific value would highly recommend
An amazing experience and so well looked after by the staff. Food was just lush!
Highly recommend the cocktail- Twinkle
Absolutely fabulous food at this delightful country house. Romantic if you want it to be. Delicious in every way!
The venue is fine for a special occasion such as an anniversary but the beef steak was not particularly tender and the chips were a bit dry in texture. Otherwise the food was acceptable.
Food and service very good table location not very welcoming tucked away in a back room that used to be a bar. No atmosphere or view of the garden.
Lovely evening at the Gun Room. Great food, great staff.
Best way to start the weekend!
We had a wonderful evening at Plas Dinas. The venue is delightful, the service SO good, the food and wine were delicious we would recommend eating here to all our friends. Everything was perfect for our special evening.
This place is a hidden gem, great food, location, ambience and staff. Should be busier
We go there regularly and this trip was not the best. Food ok but better last trip. Desert not good at all.
Excellent venue and service. Food was all excellent but the seafood platter starter was a bit bland.
We had snacks and drinks in the Gun Room while looking through the meny and placing our orders. After 15-20 minutes we where shown to our seats in the inner room.
Nice historical atmosphere, knowledgable staff and great food. The only thing that was not 5 star was the wine. We had to remind them to bring the bottle we ordered to our main course. And when it arrived it was way too warm. I'd guess 21 C instead of 17 C that would have been preferable.
But all in all a great experience
This was possibly the best meal I've ever eaten, with lovely staff in a beautiful setting.
