Food was good, but the menu is very restrictive, need more variety..
Great service & food in a beautiful environment. Always delivers a great night out
Lovely venue, been there often, but the food lets it down, menu never changes no real specials, the parma’s are always over cooked and frequently dry, such a shame.
Service is great, coffee is good too.
Covid safe. Friendly and attentive service. Food met expectations.
The meals here are excellent. The steak I ordered was excellently cooked, but let down by the "fancy gravy" which was too watery. The other meals were well presented and enjoyed.
The food was really good and while the service was friendly we did feel that they could have been more attentive to drinks.
A Hidden Surprise - delighted.
Very good service, food was very tasty however plate presentation could improve from something nice to WOW factor.
Most enjoyable nice meal with my family, very friendly and helpful with my young Grandson.
Would’ve had a better experience if it didn’t take so long for our order to be taken and almost an hour to eat.
I dine here often so perhaps a daily special would be a good idea preferably something that isn't fried.
Service was great,
calamari was tender
cheese and garlic pizza as always delicious
The Grove is a better than average Bistro Meal.
The service is not great, in saying that, most of the waitresses are young, and appear to not understand what clients value. They are pleasant, and smiling, but do not seem to know what they are doing. We sat for ages before we were attended to. We did have menus thrust at us, which occupied 5 minutes, but the other 15 minutes dragged.
We ordered a bottle of wine and 3 glasses, and one beer. After a longish wait, one glass of poured wine arrived, plus the beer. When we told the waitress we ordered a bottle, she scurried off, and produced a bottle, with ice bucket and stand, but not glasses. I had to go to the bar to retrieve them. Please, help these girls do their job efficiently and properly, and for goodness sake, could someone greet the arriving guests, such as "Welcome to the Grove" and not ignore us while you chase our reservation on the list!!
At a pinch I would go again, but I wouldn't take guests again.
The parmigiana was over cooked but apart from that the food was good, the service very good and a friendly atmosphere
Enjoyed our lunch thank you - a lovely way to end the year. Kilmore Historical Society committee
This was my third visit to The Grove. I have really enjoyed the setting there and the staff are very professional. The first time i came i ordered the Brisket in turkish bread. This was ok and i had a very nice time with friends there. The second time i came i ordered the Falafel and Israeli salad. That was superb... This time i came with another five people and i asked for the Pumpkin Ricotto Lasagna which was not available so i ordered a Pineapple Parma. This was very ordinary...the parma was overcooked, dry, tasteless. My friend ordered the Lamb steak...he said it was so smoky he hated the taste of it. Two of my friends ordered the apple pie and both said it was horrible and didn't eat it. I will come back to The Grove because i love the ambience and the staff and watching people coming in after golf but i will just order the pizza from now on as others agree the pizza's are usually pretty good. Its a shame that you have the chefs that you have because they are just like ordinary pub chefs. With the look and feel of the place it deserves better in the food department. Thank you for taking the time to read this review. Yours sincerely, Linda Parker. Romsey.
Food was lovely, staff were lovely however were not attentive enough to the table so we had to go to them a couple of times for food/drinks requests.
Good food, pleasant atmosphere, lots to choose from on the menu and friendly service. Some minor points to work on: Service could been coordinated better where orders for 2nd round of drinks does not come at the end of the meal, and likewise coffee should be served with cake not after it has been eaten. Generally it was great and will definitely eat there again in the future.
Great spot for a lunch. Very yummy and lovely setting.
Always have an awesome experience at The Grove. Have already booked our next outing pre-Christmas.
Everything and everyone was great, particularly Brad and Zuzana!
Our new favourite local place to dinner. Great food and lovely service
A good selection and great if you have vegetarian in mind, very clean, service was great and lovely relaxing views
First time and impressed with the set up and service. Good food and reasonably priced. Nice surroundings and sure to return.
Lisa was absolutely fantastic. We were warmly welcomed on arrival. Or table was ready. The food and service was fantastic!!! Would definitely bring clients here again.
pleasant lunch service was good nice ambience [good view]
Nice place and food. Service is excellent. Will be back again.
this was including the covid 19 requirements and i am sure when everything is back to normal this will be again a great place to eat. The should change their menu after full service again.
The restaurant was beautiful, we went for a date night dinner I tried the Vegetarian lasagna and it was delicious. We will definitely be going back and also recommending The Grove to our family and friends.
lovely setting , nice lunch & good service will come again.
The Grove is great restaurant The food and service are excellent and we look forward to our next meeting dining experience
Nice food and service. Will defenitly come back again.
Made a booking online for 1045 when arrived were told they dont start taking food orders till 1200. Hmmm
Decided to wait, be patient and have coffee.
Later after ordering food for two, one lunch was incorrect. Sigh.
Not even busy.
Went to pay and system went down.
Not our day there.
Thankful didnt have to pay for wrong food order.
However nice location and staff just left feeling let down by the whole experience.
Excellent food and service and great wine selection.
Upon arrival there was not a table ready for us, we had to stand around and wait for one to be set, once seated we were given water and then nothing, over half an hour later with out even being asked if we wanted a drink we had to seek out someone to take a drink order, we then had to wait again for food order. People who arrived well after us were eating before we had even had our order take !
As always great food, service and a fantastic venue.
Beautiful setting, delicious food and great menu. Will return with friends.
My husband and I had a locals lunch on Wednesday, the food and service was first class.
Absolutely amazing new menu! Staff were so helpful and friendly! Will definitely be back again soon! 😊
Great to see the Grove open again, with an expanded menu.
The calamari was perfectly cooked, light and crispy and the mains were also perfect.
Great friendly and attentive staff and a lovely ambience.
We will be back very soon.
If others arrive before the rest of the party please let them see the menu and not tell them that you will give them the menu when the rest of the party arrives. When the party does arrive don't then tell them that you will bring them the menus after you get their drinks!
The pork ribs were delicious but would prefer a choice of a green salad rather coleslaw and chips which seems to be the standard that comes with everything. Alternatively the option of Vegetables instead would have been preferred.
Some prices were ok and some a little pricey. Not really catering for Pensioners and Seniors especially when there is a Retirement Village on the doorstep. There should be a Seniors menu available. Kids menu available but not on the website. Needs to be added.
Very disappointed that there is no longer a Cocktail list and there is no longer a bar menu. There will be some unhappy locals.
Will we return? Yes we will go back and give it another go and hope to see some changes as they receive more feedback as now been operated in house rather than an outside catering company.
So good to be back! Staff as lovely as ever and food was amazing. Pie was fantastic and can’t wait to try the rest of the menu. Lovely welcoming atmosphere.
