THE GRILL is a mid-century American Chophouse created by Mario Carbone, Jeff Zalaznick and Rich Torrisi. It is housed in the only landmarked restaurant in New York inside the iconic Seagram Building and takes great inspiration from it's surroundings.
As it's name implies, the grill is meaningful to the restaurants style, service and food. Major Food Group takes great pride in celebrating the tradition of great food and great fun in one of the world's greatest restaurant spaces.
Absolutely fantastic in every way!
Great service and excellent food!
Service was excellent!
great steak, amazing service. lemon chiffon cake is a must!
Congrats! Food was great and service was magnificent!
Beautiful place food was also great
The wine list is extensive and found a great bottle of california pinot noir. I had a bone in strip steak prepared medium rare as was ordered. It was rich , tender and flavorful. The service was spot on and the timing impeccable. This is one of New York’s finest restaurants.
food was excellent other than the pasta a la presse which was subpar (rubbery noodles, sauce was uninspired). Service a little cold and condescending, to be expected for such a fancy place, but would appreciate a little more friendliness for the couples that are splurging for a special event compared to the usual ruling class, hedge fund chieftains, and dilettantes that frequent this joint.
My husband and I dined at the old Four Seasons both in the grill room and my favorite the pool room. That was closed for an event and so we ate in the grill room.
I was accustomed to the prices at the old Four Seasons, I must say I was stunned by the prices here! $100. for Three lamb chops, I think even the captain was appalled.
Just one roll (not very good) per person and no nibble as they used to give you. Everything was a la carte ! Not a single garnish not even a sprig of parsley.
It was no surprise that the restaurant was fairly empty at lunch.
I will be stunned if they are able to stay in business charging these prices.
Food was phenomenal. Dover sole was perfection as was the chopped salad. Our biggest complaint was that everyone we encountered failed to introduce themselves. Everyone. Bartenders had an attitude problem. No interaction at all. Our server and accompanying staff for dinner did a great job but again “no name”brigade. The ladies at the hostess station were upbeat and friendly. Yeah!
The food is excellent. The ambiance is lovely. My only complaint is that they RUSH you along to obviously turn over the table. Before you have the first sip of your drink, the waiter is there with the menus & a message about specials. People go out to dinner to talk to one another.
Service was amazing. Bread and the crabs cakes were too. The fish dishes were ok at best and the steak was good, but way overpriced. Decent meal, but at $450 for two people expect a great to amazing food. FYI only one person drinking a few cocktails in that bill.
Wonderful great service did not rush us.
enjoyed this restaurant a great deal! Better than the Pool. Food was fantastic
We had a wonderful evening, elegant, sophisticated dining.
Graet time awesome food
Service was excellent and the food very good. However, even for New York, more pricy than it should be.
The Grill is an amazing experience for special occasions! The food was flawless as well as the service. I enjoyed every bite!
Outstanding ambiance, food and service, if not a bit overpriced.
Great setting for a very enjoyable business meal. The food and service exceeded expectations.
From the moment I entered until my client and I left the service, food and atmosphere were nothing short of perfect. Brittany Palomino should be commended on her attentiveness, professionalism and attitude. I've never been anything less than impressed by the team at The Grill and Major Food. Keep up the great work.
The Grill is a very special place. The food was delicious and service is top shelf.
Great place for lunch in mid town. Staff was excellent, food was great, and the service was top notch.
business lunch is one of the best in midtown Manhattan
The place looks really nice, as soon as you enter you know this is gonna be an expensive meal cause all the super friendly staff at the entrance. The tableside mushroom omelet is a meh a none wordy experience to remember as the over mashed potatoes that they called "whip". The bread basket was great. For me the star of the evening was the reason I went there, the Prime Rib. This cut was perfectly cook and seasoned a truly masterpiece a thick, juicy, delicious medium rare perfection. If I were you stick with the star of the show and ignore all the fancy side dishes.
Service lovely. Food delicious. More casual than I expected.
I recommend the pasta ala presse and the prime rib
We shared the Porterhouse steak ...disappointing
First time we had a loser ...
Everything else always wonderful as always
Prime rib was great. The chateubriand was great too. Would love to be back for more
Oh my gosh where to start. Everything was incredible, not matter how good reviews are you always get worried about going somewhere for a very special occasion you truly just want everything to be amazing.... boy oh boy was it!!
The food was incredible the ambiance was incredible he wine list was out of this world. It was my birthday and I had the best birthday yet. One of the stand out things though was the service and especially our waitress. She was OUTSTANDING... Eliya Miller. She was so informative, fun, not to snobby considering it is fine dinning, she made my experience literally the best dinner I have ever had thank you to The “Grill” I had a fantastic time from start to beginning
Simply the best in all matters.
It’s still the four seasons. Amazing!
A meal to remember - any occasion at the Grill is a special occasion
Exceptional quintessential NY steak house. Big jazz music influence. Excellent service and fantastic food. No negatives except they didn't have Blue Curacao. Makes no sense when plenty of drinks use it and they have a ton of bottles, it should be there.
The reservations office lost my appointment then found it- after making me wait an hour - then the waiter spilled a glass of water in my Birkin bag also spilling all over me and the table - I was soaked so was my bag and all the contents - a napkin was put over the spill not even a new table cloth and I was sent a dessert as an apology with a 1k bill and my purse is soaked and everything was soaked inside and now it’s stained - the manager came over and apologized and did nothing - the service was AWFUL and the experience was AWFUL the food was good but I was appalled at everything else
Our waiter was snobby and rude. We picked the grill after reading how iconic it is in NYC and when we asked questions about menu items to our waiter he told us we were over thinking it and making it a bigger deal than it needed to be. He should have cared more about our experience and the reputation of the restaurant. Totally ruined the dinner for us.
We specifically chose The Grill to celebrated our 44th wedding anniversary with the “celebrated” prime rib entree. From start to finish, everything was perfect - service, food exceptional! We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and look forward to returning repeatedly.
Great wine menu, loved the music and service.
