Been going for many years and always happy - not this time, the food was not up to the standards l have been used to.
Enjoyed the meal, great friendly service but need more variety in the menu. Menu hasn’t changed since I was last there a while ago.
Nice food, good service, friendly staff, clean premises.

Lovely room. The day was pleasant and the open windows brought the outside in so that we felt part of the trees and sunshine.
Food was good and Service was good. Only issue was salad mix was limp.
Great pub in scenic Warrandyte. Good food, good value for money.
Recently had lunch at The Grand Hotel Warrandyte and would recommend the healthy salad with Chicken. It was very filling and delicious. It was a great venue to catch up with a dear friend. Definitely go back to this hotel.
Lovely restaurant, good ambiance and great food. Definitely will be back.
The service is always good at the Grand. Unfortunately on this occasion our food was fairly average and no one asked. The king prawns were over cooked and tasteless and the blue grenadier was also fairly average in taste and undercooked in a few places.
Our meals were tasty and promptly served. Table service was very efficient. Staff were pleasant and very helpful.
Our local favorite, great food, great service, reasonable prices, food selection of beer & wine
the meal came out really quick after we ordered but one of the meals was not hot enough - I suspect it was pre cooked and warmed when It was ordered. I understand you want to try to accommodate everyone who walks thru the door but at what expense? I would not say it is value for money. When it comes right down to it, it was just a Luke warm parma at a pub that was over $20. This is not the first warm meal I have had with you and I am not sure I would go back.
Great venue, staff very accommodating but hotel restaurant was very noisy.
The wait staff were quiet rude and offensive, one of the meals looked burned and when we mentioned it, the young girl said that show it looks and you can order something else but you will be charged for this meal(the meal was untouched at that stage)it was very unattractive and was only 1/2 eaten -it was the black bean burger, sure black beans are dark but the burger was holding together and very messy to eat, with the attitude of the staff it didn't help. The chicken Parmer was very small, like a seniors serve and When the birthday cake came , they couldn't find our candles and the girl commented I could only get two candles in the cake because the cake is rock hard! It wasn't but such a rude comment, the staff need customer service training to start with.
We have been coming to this venue for 20 years but last Sunday wasn't pleasant.
Consistently great food and service!
The superfood salad with fish of the day is my favourite!
Had a lovely lunch at the hotel on Sunday. Great atmosphere and the food was good quality with good sized servings. We were warmly welcomed and the staff were efficient, friendly and helpful.
Fantastic as always. Great food & great wine. Nice playroom for the kids to play in while parents eat
good friendly service and cold beer, prices ok, Gluten free food was very good
Greeted very warmly on arrival. I love that there is table service for ordering too, instead of a queue at the bar. The food came quite quickly and all of us enjoyed our meal very much, delicious dessert special too. Would definitely recommend dining here.
Meal was nice, service was good, But when it comes to paying the bill. They will not split bills, so if you and few friends dining together make sure you all have cash not card like we did, very bad when you have to ask you fellow diners to pay as they will only take one persons card. Today not many people carry cash. Bad mistake as we wont be coming back. Learn from this SPLIT the BILL. How hard can that be.
The restaurant is way too noisy
This had nothing to do with any children present but just the building despite having a carpet floor
I thought the service was fantasied and good was beautiful
Great food and terrific service. A real treat. The views are great and we appreciated all the vegan/vegetarian options
It was a lovely place to visit. Toilet is a bit small tho!
I have been having a weekend lunch at Grand Hotel for over 5 years and always the same - veal schnitzel!
Last weekend the schnitzel was not so good, was stringy and required a lot of chewing.
However, my wife and mother in law were extremely happy with their chosen food.
The staff lost our order ticket and as a result the food didn’t come. After an hour we flagged a staff member down and they pushed our order though. It’s hard to wait so long with a small child. I had the burger, it was unbearably salty. For two adults and a child, the meal was over $100. Quite an expensive night out for the experience we had. Not sure if we’ll return.
We had a nice lunch at the Warrandyte Hotel. On Friday. Our only complaint was the size of the meals. The three of us left half our meal. Perhaps some smaller meals for seniors would be a good idea. We would certainly go there again but perhaps share next time now that we know what the food is like
excellent as always - great food, easy atmosphere,
Great local hotel easy booking system friendly staff
Loved it, great food, great service.
Only down point tables are to small.
Great night out. Always enjoy our time out here in a very picturesque location. We had a number of dishes and everyone found something they really enjoyed. For me I really liked the pork sliders and found a great glass of Moscato. I would recommend however that you may avoid the polenta chips, they would be better if seasoned with parmesan, but are currently a bit too bland.
For ambience, location and service I would recommend. However, the portion sizes of some meals - Fish Pie and Thai Beef Salad was too much and I wasn't happy with the amount that was wasted. I would prefer less on the plate than having to force myself to eat more.
Lovely staff. Food is always good. A little noisy, but it is a pub!! No complaints.
Enjoyed meal although wife’s fish was under cooked....
Great pub meals and atmosphere. Staff are sensational. Very noisy but comes with being busy and popular. Could have just been a holiday Sunday night though.
Much improved recently. Food very nice, ambience good though rather noisy as Bistro was full
Overall very good
Everything was great, just a bit noisy. This is a problem for older folks whose hearing is compromised.
I have been coming to the Grand Hotel for many years. The ambience and the proximity to the river create great appeal. Service has always been very good. Generally food has been ordinary to good, somethings are better than others, I have had a very good steak cooked as I like. I also appreciate that all meals are priced very reasonably. However last week when I brought overseas guests the food was really awful. We had the Vietnamese salad, the beef was not freshly cooked the salad wasn’t fresh and the fish sauce was very different. My mother’s eggplant parmigiana was inedible. The eggplant I thought must have been frozen, salad was in any case awful. I live fairly close by and I have enjoyed coming to the Grand with family and friends, but I think there has been a deterioration in the quality of the dishes to the point that I am now disinclined to return.
The service of the wait staff was very good and very friendly. The food was fine - plenty of choices - and the ambiance very pleasant (good natural lighting). The day was not spoiled by - but significantly impacted by - the stuff up with the bill, wherein the food was "doubled up" and some wrong items appeared. Certain staff worked to correct this, but it simply should not have happened. It was stated to me that this happens fairly regularly and must be addressed. I would encourage people to go to The Grand, but I would warn them to check their bill carefully.
